Welcome
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Take a look at the welcome page. To stay in Wikipedia, an article has to be about something notable, that is, of general interest. Click on Notability for an explanation of what that means, and on Notability (people) for more detail. Also, it must give independently verifiable sources. Articles that don't meet these requirements are likely to be deleted.
- To find out about creating articles, read the Introduction and the Guide to creating your first article.
- You should not write articles about yourself, your band, your client, your boss or your best friend - that's a conflict of interest.
- Wikipedia is not an advertising service. Before writing about your own organization or product, read FAQ/Organizations.
- For experiments, please use the sandbox.

Nick Brownlee - "orphan" tag
[edit]Sorry for delay in replying - your note must have come at the same time as another, and I missed it. The "Orphan" tag is put there by a bot (automatic system) if an article is linked to from less than three other articles. WP:Orphan explains more. The aim is to encourage users to make navigation around Wikipedia easier by setting up "Wikilinks". I have added his name to the "notable alumni" lists of his school and university, which makes two incoming links; if you click on the words "articles relate to it" in the tag you may find other articles containing his name, which you could convert to a link by enclosing it in double square brackets. I don't know, for instance, whether the Nick Brownlee in Temperance movement who wrote This is Alcohol is the same man. But if you can't find any more, don't worry about it.
