2008 Turkish Grand Prix PR

Is that your PR finished of the 2008 Turkish Grand Prix, or is there still more? Darth Newdar (talk) 07:40, 3 May 2009 (UTC)

Diniz Midgrid has finished his copyedit of the article; have you got any more suggestions before I take it to GAN? Darth Newdar (talk) 16:53, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

It's magnificEnce, not magnificance.

GA Sweeps invitation

Hello, I hope you are doing well. I am sending you this message since you are a member of the GA WikiProject. I would like to invite you to consider helping with the GA sweeps process. Sweeps helps to ensure that the oldest GAs still meet the criteria, and improve the quality of GAs overall. Unfortunately, last month only two articles were reviewed. This is definitely a low point after our peak at the beginning of the process when 163 articles were reviewed in September 2007. After nearly two years, the running total has just passed the 50% mark. In order to expediate the reviewing, several changes have been made to the process. A new worklist has been created, detailing which articles are left to review. All exempt and previously reviewed articles have already been removed from the list. Instead of reviewing by topic, you can consider picking and choosing whichever articles interest you.

We are always looking for new members to assist with the remaining articles, so if you are interested or know of anybody that can assist, please visit the GA sweeps page. In addition, for every member that reviews 100 articles or has a significant impact on the process, s/he will get an award when they reach that threshold. If only 14 editors achieve this feat starting now, we would be done with Sweeps! Of course, having more people reviewing less articles would be better for all involved, so please consider asking others to help out. Feel free to stop by and only review a few articles, something's better than nothing! Take a look at the list, and see what articles interest you. Let's work to complete Sweeps so that efforts can be fully focused on the backlog at GAN. If you have any questions about the process, reviewing, or need help with a particular article, please contact me or OhanaUnited and we'll be happy to help. --Happy editing! Re:Hey, Midgrid!

I'm getting used to the new name as well. ;) I think you've done a very good job at covering such an eventful race, and I've only made some very minor changes. There are, however, two more general (but also minor) issues that I've raised on the article's talk page.--Midgrid(talk) 19:08, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of 2008 Spanish Grand Prix

Hello, I just wanted to introduce myself and let you know I am glad to be reviewing the article 2008 Spanish Grand Prix you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 14 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. SilkTork *YES! 15:23, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

Looking good. Though the lead could be expanded to cover some of the significant points. The racism toward Hamilton and the collapse of Aguri Suzuki for example. Also the image of Aguri Suzuki is questionable. Some great action shots. SilkTork *YES! 18:26, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of 2008 Spanish Grand Prix

The article 2008 Spanish Grand Prix you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:2008 Spanish Grand Prix for eventual comments about the article. Well done! SilkTork *YES! 12:42, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

AWB

Already got it. ;) User:DH85868993 told me about it then I requested it and got it. Cs-wolves(talk) 09:41, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

I've used it quite a bit mind you, for some of the Ultimate removal and all the Lola pages! Cs-wolves(talk) 10:00, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
Hmph. I suppose. Cs-wolves(talk) 10:26, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

Re: Calm down

Sorry, just got a bit annoyed there - there's not much I can do when I'm not given a proper review; nor am I given specific things to do and change. I'm not a crystal ball, I don't think. I'll probably work on another article, and come back to it in 24 hours - maybe take to FAC hopefully. Thanks for the message anyway. D.M.N. (talk) 13:42, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

Thanks. (If I don't open a PR; just leave comments on the talkpage) D.M.N. (talk) 13:50, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for the review. I think I'm going to avoid GAN, and take a giant leap of faith. D.M.N. (talk) 16:12, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
It's not a case of I do not want to expand it, it's a case of I don't know what else I can put in the lead without it heading out of summary style... D.M.N. (talk) 12:44, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

I am currently writing up the 2008 French Grand Prix article. I have made many improvements (but there's still some way to go!) but I am here to ask you what to do about the qualifying section. The basic problem is that four different drivers got penalties; Hamilton and Rosberg were demoted ten places for a crash in the previous race; Kovalainen was demoted five places for impeding during qualifying; and Barrichello was also demoted five places for a gearbox change. All this means that drivers who qualified, for instance, seventh, actually started fifth (in fact, only the top two, Räikkönen and Massa, actually started where they qualified). So saying "Kubica qualified seventh" is very confusing when you read on and get on to the race section and read "Kubica, who started fifth...". I feel that it spoils the flow of the quali section to keep on saying "Kubica qualified seventh, but he would actually start fifth" for every driver. So what would you do? By the way, although the article's not yet ready for PR, you could check over the rest of it, apart from post-race, which is next on my list of things to do on the article.

Thanks, Darth Newdar (talk) 15:40, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for that. I have now included it into the article, having added the refs. Darth Newdar (talk) 13:17, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

Hello. I noticed that you had this GA under review since the 19th. A look at the history shows zero progress towards adding any references, so I would either leave a note to him or fail the article as it is. Wizardman 02:45, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

Thanks

For this, I think there should be a last change notice for userpage as well. And yeah, congrats on TFA! LeaveSleaves 02:33, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

I was surprised that you hadn't reverted it, it looked like vandalism to me... My weakness with vandals is I can rarely be bothered warning them, they know when they've done wrong. I'm still waiting for the rash of vandalism on Brazil, but we'll see. :) Apterygial 03:38, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
I was off-wiki for a few days and didn't bother to check my entire watchlist. As for Brazil, I think that'll happen once Europe wakes up. LeaveSleaves 03:50, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
Well, for most of that time I'll be off-wiki, so I'll have to rely on you guys to keep it clean. I honestly don't know if I could stand another Glock conspiracy argument. Apterygial 03:54, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

Re:Thanks

No problem. In case you didn't know, there's a list of all the things that need to be updated after a race here. Regards. DH85868993 (talk) 13:26, 17 June 2009 (UTC)

Thanks

I noticed it when I came back to the screen after 2 hours of mythbusters. How embarassing! --Narson ~ Talk 12:30, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

Caracciola

I didn't actually start the page, but yes, I do have an almost unhealthy interest in the pre-war racing. I've got the DVD archive of all the issues of Motor Sport magazine from 1924 to 1949 so there should be a fair amount in there. I'd be up for helping out, definitely. Readro (talk) 08:11, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

Just letting you know that I haven't forgotten, it's just I've been extremely busy recently. If I get a few minutes I'll do what I can. Readro (talk) 15:39, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

I just noticed the Caracciola draft in your sandbox - it looks very good, and I'm looking forward to seeing it in the mainspace! :) --Midgrid(talk) 19:13, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Should be there by this weekend, I just have to finish off Legacy and do the lead, and on Saturday I'll integrate it and copyedit it. I wouldn't mind getting a few motorsport nuts in to really check over it as well once it's there. Apterygial 22:48, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Insane Idea

I have really enjoyed helping (at least, I hope I've helped) with the Insane Idea. With the 2008 French Grand Prix at GAN, I now have no article to work on, as all of the other articles are spoken for. Is there anything more I can do to help you? Or shall I go and edit some 2009 articles? Darth Newdar (talk) 17:07, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

Right, I'll have a go at the European Grand Prix. And I'm glad that I've helped. Darth Newdar (talk) 19:14, 22 July 2009 (UTC)

There have been various suggestions left for you at Portal talk:Formula One/Did you know; none by me, but as I have it on my watchlist, I noticed that there had been some. Darth Newdar (talk) 07:45, 23 July 2009 (UTC)
