Speedy deletion nomination of BM Oplot
[edit]Hello Apolovko2,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged BM Oplot for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Crispulop (talk) 22:40, 14 August 2013 (UTC)
Your request for undeletion
[edit]Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that a response has been made at Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion regarding a submission you made. The thread is BM Oplot. JohnCD (talk) 15:41, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
Copyright violations
[edit]You have had previous warnings, but you do not seem to be getting the message: you must not copy material into Wikipedia. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text, or images borrowed from other websites, or printed material without a verifiable license; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. JohnCD (talk) 15:44, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
I need to restore my article and remove possible copyright violations. I haven't copied an entire article, just some parts from different sources and used my words for other parts. Aplovko2
- It will not be restored, because that would be violating copyright again. We cannot hold copyright text, even temporarily. You are still not getting the message: copying "just some parts from different sources" is not OK. I cannot say it more clearly:
you must not copy into Wikipedia.
- The most that is permissible is described at Wikipedia:Copy-paste#What about quotes?: "Brief quotations of copyrighted text may be used to illustrate a point, establish context, or attribute a point of view or idea", and they would need to be in quotes and clearly attributed. Copying whole paragraphs is not allowed.
- I checked the first nine paragraphs of your article: they all came straight from http://www.army-technology.com/projects/oplot-m-main-battle-tank-ukraine/. All you had done is move the "Armament" section in front of "Fire control".
- Copyright violations could give Wikipedia serious legal problems. Before you edit again, read:
- If you continue to copy material into Wikipedia, you will be blocked. JohnCD (talk) 17:01, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
- JohnCD, your statement about just moving "Armament" section is not true. The article was modified and extended with additional information from several sources (Mobility and Protection), including vehicle designer. Numbers were verified and corrected. In any case I will try to re-create it from scratch using all my words. Thanks. Aplovko2
