Orphaned non-free media (Image:Wvinzons.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Wvinzons.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. Thank you

[edit]

I wish to thank you for your contribution to the Philippine Airlines Flight 206 article (and creation). My mother was the Flight attendant on that flight, but her best friend and a close family friend decided to take her position last minute, because my mother was tired from a lot of long haul flights (she took up domestic flights to have a break every now and then). I didn't know too much information about the flight despite searching non-stop.Thanks, we knew the pilot, he was a VERY good pilot. I fly aircraft, and am aviation orientated myself, and he was a great pilot. This was the first time he chose to fly in bad weather, the first time he risked something. Unfortunetly the weather was too bad for the technology back in that era. Subsequently my mothers friend perished in the crash, and horrifically not from impact but by being pinned down during the fire after the crash. I want to thank you for the article, I now know some more in depth information, I will definately show my mother this. Maraming salamat po! keep up the great work! Speedy deletion of Annabel Bosch

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Annabel Bosch requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the article or have a copy emailed to you. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of people who died in their thirties. You are now a Reviewer

[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 04:51, 20 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed blackout in protest of RA 10175

[edit]

Dear Anyo Niminus,

Greetings!

As a Filipino Wikipedian, I hope you are aware of the passage of Republic Act No. 10175, also known as the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, which was signed into law by President Benigno Aquino III on September 12, 2012. Currently, there is a discussion on the Tambayan, the noticeboard for Philippines-related topics, about a proposed blackout of the English Wikipedia in the Philippines in order to protest the passage of RA 10175, similar to the blackout against SOPA and PIPA held earlier this year. I feel that your input on the subject will definitely help in the discussion.

Please feel free to participate in the discussion at Wikipedia talk:Tambayan Philippines#The Cybercrime Prevention Act, and I hope your input will help the Filipino Wikipedia community determine which is the best course of action against this law. Similarly, we hope to get as much input from as many Wikipedians as possible.

Thank you and maraming salamat po!

Kind regards,

Sky Harbor (talk) 14:23, 7 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A discussion is taking place at Wikipedia talk:Tambayan Philippines#Copyright violations whether or not copyright applies to work of Philippine LGU's. PH law states that "no copyright shall subsist in any work of the Government of the Philippines". So the question is if LGU's fall under the same provision. An old quote from you from 2009 was found that states: Philippine LGUs are considered political subdivisions of the national government, and their works are part of the Philippine government. Can you back up this statement with proof from an official document that can be referenced? Please add you comments to Wikipedia talk:Tambayan Philippines#Copyright violations. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Emma Henry requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". About No Freedom of Panorama in the Philippines

[edit]

Magandang gabi po, User:Anyo Niminus! May I request for your comment about the freedom of panorama (FoP) situation here in the Philippines? Right now, the WikiCommons page about copyright rules in the Philippines states that the country has "no freedom of panorama," according to our prevailing copyright law. As such, theoretically photos of architecture and other static structures whose designers or architects are still alive (or have been dead for less than 50 years) are not allowed on Wikimedia Commons, which include EDSA Shrine, Quezon Memorial Circle and its monument, Bonifacio Shrine, or even the Batasang Pambansa Complex. Also the structures that were built by architectural firms (no specific people) for not less than 50 years (e.g. The Makati and Ortigas Center skyscrapers, and theoretically, SM City North EDSA, SM Center Pulilan, Robinsons Galleria, Gaisano malls, and all other malls). Nevertheless, it seems to conflict with prevailing "status quo" (am I correct in my terminology?) in which no photographer has been charged with violating "architectural copyrights" because of no FoP situation in the Philippines. However, this assumption is against the Commons:Commons:Project scope/Precautionary principle, even if my assumption is the prevailing reality in the Philippines.

Recently I attempted five undeletion request attempts on Commons, you may look po here: https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Commons:Undeletion_requests/Current_requests&oldid=437556815 .

Update: right now the deletion request is at Commons:Commons:Undeletion requests/Current requests#File:Quezon memorial.jpg. 17:41, 1 September 2020 (UTC)

I contacted you po because you were mentioned by Sky Harbor at Commons:Template talk:PD-PhilippinesGov#Continued discussion as a government lawyer who confirmed the PD status of government works (e.g. government-owned photos). Kaya I hope to obtain your insight on "no Freedom of Panorama issue in the Philippines," which has somehow struck several Filipino Wikipedians with dismay after hundreds of photos were deleted due to "no FOP status," and I can notice the decreasing number of Philippine photos (by Filipino Wikipedians, excluding Flickr/Panoramio-sourced free photos and photos by very active user Judgefloro) this recent years. Salamat po sa iyong response. :-) JWilz12345 (Talk|Contrib's.) 10:11, 7 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
