Postdoctoral researcher

Hello. I've just reverted your housekeeping deletion of the redirect at Postdoctoral researcher [1] since there are quite a few pages that link to it [2], which suddenly became redlinks when you deleted the redirect (including the link on my user page, which is how I noticed this). I think it's fine to keep as a redirect from an alternative name, since it is a fairly common phrase/position in academia. I hope that's OK. Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 19:47, 3 February 2015 (UTC)

I'm sorry, Postdoctoral research was supposed to be moved to that title. They apparently deleted the redirect page but didn't actually do the move, and I didn't notice. Robert Dirks

Thanks for noticing ... I hadn't been keeping track and have been busy with some other articles. If you can find those third-party sources please do; I have no idea where to look. I did find several obits which give a lot of information about his life—very interesting, he was born in Bangkok, to an expat American father and his Thai Chinese wife; then later moved back to Spokane, where he was valedictorian of his high school class. @Daniel Case: The obituaries are good sources about his life, but they unfortunately don't give much technical detail about his work. Thomas W. Talley

I work mostly on minorities and mostly on Southern ones. I honestly enjoyed learning about Mr. Talley. I am getting almost 50% probability on close paraphrasing. While there may be limited ways to say he was born on a certain day or graduated in a certain year, I do not think this group of sentences lends itself to that limitation. I cannot edit and review the article. But that being said, I would suggest something along the lines of "Talley began gathering rural black folk songs later in his life. No prior black scholar had assembled a music volume when Macmillan released "Negro Folk Rhymes (Wise and Otherwise)" in 1922. Talley's 349 songs, the first compilation ever published of African American secular folksongs, were also the first collected from Tennessee." Obviously there are other ways you can edit it. G'day! We just had an NIH Women's History Month Edit-a-Thon 2015, and Duckduckstop suggested I ping you for some DYK(s).

Nina Starr Braunwald performed the first successful artificial heart valve replacement - and she designed and made the valve.

Judith Vaitukaitis developed the first home pregnancy test.

Vivian Pinn was the first African-American woman to head a pathology department, and the first director of the NIH's Office of Research on Women's Health.

@Antony-22: I forgot I was watching your page because of the Talley article. I just noticed that these 3 links are not on the Women's History adds for this month. Wikipedia:WikiWomen's History Month/2015/Outcomes could use any additional info you and @Duckduckstop: or @Hildabast: can give for new articles, DYKs, promotion to good articles etc. that have been created in the month of March. @SusunW: See the first message currently on my talk page for some other past and upcoming events this month. Each page should have an outcomes list that you can copy to the central Women's History Month list. There are more events listed in Template:ArtAndFeminism.

@Hildabast: Those all look like good articles for DYK! It would actually be easier if you nominated them yourself; as an experienced DYKer I have to review another article every time I do a nomination, which you wouldn't have to do as a newcomer to the process (you get five nominations for free before you have to do reviews yourself). I'm happy to help deal with any fixes the reviewers ask for. Instructions are at Template talk:Did you know#To nominate an article, it's not a very hard process. I got all the entries from the first three sessions input on the overview page and talk pages with shells created for each article. Did not get the photos from the NIH session yet. That was a very productive group! Fascinating women they added. @Hildabast: if you need help with DYK, ping me. I'll be glad to assist.
