armedblowfish

[edit]

Since you asked what the user can and cannot do, I would direct you to my comments at WT:RFA#ArmedBlowfish removed. The user cannot simply stop using proxying; he would have to shut off his tor exit node entirely, which would degrade the anonymity of the tor network for other legitimate users. He is using his IP to offer a public service which potentially saves lives; the nature of the block requires him now to either stop providing that public service or stop editing Wikipedia. ··coelacan 22:09, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Vandals

[edit]

At Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp between 1,100,00 and 1,000,000 people - men, women an children - were murdered in cold blood by the Nazis for no reason at all other than becauae of their race. In all seriouisness I ask you - is this really a page which you want to vandalise?--Anthony.bradbury 23:25, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

This was left on my talkpage...does someone have the same ip as me? Because I would NEVER make fun of the people involved in the Holocaust. The reason im bringing this up is because I dont want to seem as some heartless a-hole, who talks crap about other races/ethnicities/religions. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 168.170.197.10 (talkcontribs)

Hard block on bad faith usernames

[edit]

Hi, I undid your soft block of this username violation and redid it as a hard block[1]. I did this because the name seems to have been chosen in bad faith as an attempt to disrupt, as such we don't want the user creating another account. Just letting you know, not trying to step on your toes. (H) 23:24, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've reinstated the {{db-copyvio}} notice on To Encounter Christ. A website doesn't have to assert that it's copyrighted for the copyright to exist. In fact it's exactly the opposite - the copyright exists unless it's waived. Under US, UK and EU law copying material wholesale is a de facto breach of copyright unless explicit permission is given. The only exception is if it's a fair use quotation from the material for purposes of illustration, analysis etc.

Anyway the article would fail on other criteria such as POV, Essay etc. andy 23:25, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • I was just going to say the same thing, as to the first paragraph above. It's clearly a copyright infringement. Please review WP:C before copying anybody else's text removing any more copyvio tags. Thanks. --Butseriouslyfolks 23:53, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I was thinking you had posted the article, so I have corrected my statement above. I think most of what I said applies nevertheless. You did indicate on my talk page that you had removed the speedy deletion copyvio tag from the article because the source website did not have a copyright notice and because "Most Catholic documents are freely available". This shows a fairly serious lack of understanding of copyright law and related WP policies. So even if you did not post the article, I think a review of WP:C is in order. Thanks again. --Butseriouslyfolks 00:06, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hero of the wiki award

[edit]

Its pile on award time for Anthony. But seriouly, i try to give this award out to somebody whom I feel exemplifies heroic efforts on this project.

The Hero of the Wiki award
I, Chrislk02, hereby award you my Hero of the Wiki Award. You are always there ready to help no matter what it is. Always willing to prod those lost or new editors in the right direction instead of eating them as tasty snack as oh so many do. On top of this, you daily perform the thankless and humdrum activities of an administrator, cleaning up the mess left behind. This project would be noticeably for the worse without your presence. Thank you for all your hard work and know that you are a Hero of this project and will be listed on My wall of heroes. -- Chrislk02 (Chris Kreider) 00:51, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I know how it goes, just doing your job. It is often alot of thankless work and every time that yellow bar pops up, we are just expecting to find the next childish userpage vandalism or a "why was my article deleted" or some other complaint. It is always a pleasant suprise to find an award or compliment instead of degrading criticisms. -- Chrislk02 (Chris Kreider) 01:01, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, trust me, I get my share of yellow bar of doom message. I think any of us who do a good job must get that bar alot. Except phaedriel who must only get yellow bars of beauty. I wouldent be suprised if every time she got a message, if a beautiful flower gardern full of birds chirped you have a new message popped up instead of the droll old bar. -- Chrislk02 (Chris Kreider) 01:29, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome.

Could you please take a look?--Anthony.bradbury 22:32, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Question

[edit]

Would you mind keeping an eye on Witton Albion F.C.? Some guy has created numerous socks to remove a sourced item. He created a load of sleepers back in April and is using them whenever page protection from new users is used. I'm getting tired of having to watch it myself all the time and playing whack-a-mole. 172.195.112.109

[edit]

How exactly do you figure he's Polish? Is this supposed to be a joke? Pretty stupid one then. Space Cadet 23:55, 9 June 2007 (UTC) Uzonna (edit conflict) No, it was not meant to be a joke, and I had no intention of denigrating either you or him. He appears to edit only Poland related articles, and, given that i know a lot of Poles, his use of the English language indicates an Eastern European origin. I had no intention of taking sides, and sent you both similar 3RR warnings. May I suggest that, as you speak Polish, you address him in that language. If he understands, then you can perhaps come to agreement. If he does not, then let me know, and this will be taken into account in any future blocking request. I'm just trying to preserve the encyclopedia. aren't we all?--Anthony.bradbury 00:09, 10 June 2007 (UTC) Uzonna How does bad English indicate that someone is from Eastern Europe? Are you chauvinistic or retarded? Anyway, he is a German revisionist and I don't understand why you only picked us two out of all the parties involved. Space Cadet 00:27, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

First of all. let me say that offensive edits do not advance the discussion. I picked the two of you because you are the two who have interacted the most. Poor English does not necessarily imply Polish origin, although his use of English is typical of people from Eastern Europe. And I was suggesting conversation, rather than confrontation. If indeed he is a German revisionist then that is clearly not going to work.--Anthony.bradbury 00:41, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Second of all you were offensive first! Watch who you're calling "Polish" next time! If Germany is Eastern Europe for you then I guess France is too. Not a lot of geography in medical school, I gather. I am from Central Europe and I must say that your expert professional opinion about "his use of English is typical of people from Eastern Europe" is way off. You associated with some low class Poles and came to some weird conclusions. But guess what: his use of English is typical of people from low class, who are the same all over the world. Happy editing, your friend Space Cadet 00:53, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Firstly, I have not said you were Polish; I said that I believed that User:172.195.112.109 was. You say that I am wrong, and that he is German. OK, I have not argued that. And I have not said that Germany is in Eastern Europe, although I did say that Poland was, which most people would agree with. If you feel that Poland is in Central Europe then hey, OK. The argument was really not about that; it was about the name of Danzig/Gdansk. And even there I was trying to mediate, not dogmatise, OK?--Anthony.bradbury"talk" 01:02, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
If you really are NOT playing dumb on me now, then let me explain: I got offended by your "matter of fact" assumptions about User:172.195.112.109 and your aristocrat wannabe tone telling me to go and take care of it. Space Cadet 01:08, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
P.S. I am Polish-American.

Regarding your recent indef block of 172.206.57.143

[edit]

I think you should look over the indefinite block because in the blocking policy here:Wikipedia:Blocking_IP_addresses#Block_lengths, it states that IPs should almost never be indefinitely blocked. --Hdt83 Chat 23:11, 10 June 2007 (UTC) Uzonna Block Log[reply]

Oh, ok, thanks for clarifying your reasons for the indef block. After looking over the contribs, it was probably the right thing to do. --Hdt83 Chat 23:26, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No, I glanced at the contributions page before I inquired about the indef block. The "after looking over the contribs" was looking at each diff individually and not just the edit summary. I wasn't trying to criticize your actions as an admin but was just asking for a reason why the IP was indef blocked. Sorry about that. --Hdt83 Chat 23:38, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I hate it when people second-guess me, but my 2 cents would be to block the IP for 6 months. I agree with your rationale, but I think that in 6 months things will have blown over, cooled down, etc. Indef-blocking is really reserved for open proxies, and the IP can always be rapidly re-blocked if it becomes an issue again. I think blocking an IP indefinitely, especially based on a 1-day history of abuse (admittedly quite egregious) is probably too much, especially as it may be reassigned (not enough history there to be totally clear that it's static). Again, those are just my 2 cents - and I've been accused of being too lenient in terms of blocks, so take it for what it's worth. MastCell Talk 17:07, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your removal of 'fact' tag from Auschwitz concentration camp

[edit]

If the destroyed crematoria had been rebuilt, they would still have been blown up by the SS before they abandoned the camp. Therefore, the fact that they are in ruins today doesn't prove that they weren't rebuilt. I'm not suggesting that they were rebuilt; I think it's reasonable to seek a citation saying that they were not, because the ruins alone prove nothing. Signalhead 23:17, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have monitored his work on other articles and the theme of homosexuality follows him everywhere. in referance to another famous person he said "he is as bent as a boomerang and has BLEW more men than he`s had hot dinners". He is generally unwelcome on most articles he contributes to.Other user`s complaining about his negative POV editing. Unfortunately I in the past reacted in an agressive manner in retaliation called him a "Smart ASS" and "crap face" I have long ago apologiesed for this and truely regret it but his behaviour has not improved. Hi Anthony. Could you take a second look at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/DrKiernan? I know you opposed and responded to an editor questioning that opinion but still, I'd appreciate it if you can go back and look at some of the arguments that have been made in favour of the candidate. I'll freely admit that I might be taking this one a bit too personally (especially since I had never heard of that user before his RfA) but I really think the community is going all wrong about this one. You and I have both recently been made admins and I don't know about you but I certainly had no specific vision of what I'd do with the tools. Sure, I knew I would probably delete a few speedies, block a few vandals but beyond that I am learning as I go, just as I did with every other aspect of Wikipedia. Some of the tools do make my life easier: I'm grateful for that and I'm confident that it means I make better, faster decisions because of them and this benefits the project as a whole. If a user has shown that he can be trusted and that he's committed to improving the project, then who cares if he uses the tools only sporadically? He's still a more apt user thanks to them and one that does not have to go looking for an admin when a page needs to be protected or a user needs to be blocked. That makes his life easier, that also makes our lives easier. Cheers and again, sorry about the spam! Pascal.Tesson 17:12, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair enough and thanks a lot for the detailed response (even though I would have liked a different one!). Cheers, Pascal.Tesson 21:22, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Don't be sorry, it's just normal that we don't always agree and I respect your opinion. I simply came to ask you to give it some more thought. You did and I really can't ask for anything more. Cheers, Pascal.Tesson 22:32, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you visiting and commenting at my RfA, I have tried to expand on my philosophy and answers, and quite a lot has happened since you last commented. Helping my own editing is just one of the three reasons I have applied to be an admin, the other two being to assist in real admin work. I do hope that the new comments address your concerns. Even if they don't, thanks for stopping by! DrKiernan 15:35, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Anthony. I really appreciate you keeping an open mind about this candidate. Pascal.Tesson 21:12, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well of course, there's nothing easier than torpedoing one's own RfA! I also managed to screw my first one with one too many humorous notes on an AfD. Oh well, Wikipedia wouldn't be as much fun if it all made sense. As far as DrKiernan's RfA is concerned, I'm still hopeful that he'll make it in time. Actually the number of opposes has been steadily decreasing and if two or three more swithch to neutral or support, I can easily see him ending up in the 70-75% range and squeaking in. It's not over 'til the fat lady sings! :-) Cheers, Pascal.Tesson 21:31, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Uzonna You said: "Hi there; are you really saying that this user should be given a further chance? You, compared to me, have an amount of experience before which I can only bow in awe. And if you would like an admin other than yourself to unblock this user, then at your guidance I will happily do so. If that is in fact what you were saying at WP:UNBLOCK, let me know. But in the light of this user's previous edits, I would require specific advice before doing so."

Actually, I'm mostly just recusing myself. However, you may want to check out Template:2ndchance which may be appropriate here. --Yamla 23:12, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Travis Hayden

[edit]

The given reason is: It is an article about a band, singer, musician, or musical ensemble that does not assert the importance or significance of the subject. (CSD A7)

This article is not band, singer, musician, or musical ensemble. It is about Travis Hayden a co-founder of iheartcomix records which poses great significance. Please google the name or iheartcomix Records and you will instantly see the significance. This is the first effort in building the pages for the founders Travis Hayden & Franki Chan. Please search the web, doing so you will be barraged with a wealth of information. It's nearly impossible for us to sustain such information in one place for users to read, easily and readily available if every time we create a page of us or the company it gets deleted. There is a lot of very pertinent information to the company out there and it is all very relevant to popular culture. Please be patient with us as we slowly build it. They are on the forefront of a new culture of music that has spawned from Los Angeles and spreading around the world. There's of 3,000 google hits when you type it in, why should it be blacklisted from wikipedia?

Fine then, but you know, are we really going to list every instance where not to put them? You really can't just be adding punctuation wherever you want. Not to be rude, but it makes you look somewhat illiterate. I'll now drop it. Reywas92TalkReview me 23:06, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yep. He just did it again as 86.140.93.198 so clearly the autoblock doesn't work. IrishGuy talk 22:06, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Please do not take this as in any sense a personal attack or personal criticism; it is not intended to be either.

It is entirely possible that this is just a problem with my hardware; but has anyone ever suggested to you that your username, in the particular shade of green that you have chosen, is hard to read?

You are going to say "no", aren't you, and I will have to go and hide in a corner somwhere. Deleted NN bios. What best to do?

[edit]

Back in April, it seems you deleted bios for Walter Beyer, Hans Demme, Hans Schomer, Willie Scholz, Berthold Seidel. These were five German POWs executed in the USA for the murder of a fellow POW cum informer Johannes Kunze, on whom I've now created a brief article. The five appear as redlinks in List of individuals executed by the United States military. What do you think best? To recreate one article on each as a redirect or piping the redlinks to Johannes Kunze? There's actually quite a lot of info out there on this and these guys are probably not as NN as might first have appeared. Anyhow, thoughts sought  ← ROGER →  TALK 08:45, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Famecity

[edit]

At 11:42, 23 June 2007 (UTC), Eliz81 placed a message starting "A tag has been placed on Famecity, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia." on my talk page.

This has never happened to me before, so I'm not exactly sure what to do. From Eliz81's posting, I deduced (perhaps wrongly) that I needed to place { { hangon } } on that page, and then leave a note on the talk page. So clicked on the blue link to that page, and was greeted by "Wikipedia does not have an article with this exact name". So I clicked on the deletion log and saw:
11:48, 23 June 2007 Anthony.bradbury (Talk | contribs) deleted "Famecity" ( { { db-corp } } )

Six minutes. Wow! That certainly is "speedy deletion"!!

So please advise: Given that I can't put "hangon" on the page because it no longer exists, what should I do now? Pdfpdf 12:17, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

(BTW: I agree that the page-as-it-was was indeed a CSD - I started it, got tired, left a note to myself to complete enough of it so it wouldn't be a CSD, went to bed. And then completely forgot about it. (And I don't know what happened to the note!))

STRONGLY ABJECT

[edit]

I strongly abject to the user Nemanmarcus being blocked. This is not even a chain in your country for christ sakes and it is someones NAME. You cannot block someone for having the same name of a store. There might be a John Murphy's sub shop out there but if someone has the name Johnmurphy they wouldn't get blocked. --Bruttafemmina 14:58, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If this is his real name than he is actually "strongly abject" (in the meaning of "most unfortunate or miserable"). But how can we know? In any case I'm happy my surname is not McDonald ;-) --Friendly Neighbour 15:14, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Uzonna

It is perfectly true that Nieman Marcus do not have branches in the UK. As there are more Wikipedia users in the USA than there are in the UK I am not certain what difference that makes. And user is not blocked - only the username. The user is perfectly free to choose another name under which to edit. It is wikipedia policy not to allow usernames which appear to relate to commercial enterprises, but you are perfectly entitled to protest on WP:AN/I if you wish. --Anthony.bradbury"talk" 17:54, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Coaching

[edit]

Hey there.

I've crossed your work on a regular basis, and since you're quite well regarded (including by me) perhaps you can help me. I'm a dedicated vandal/spam fighter, and I really think my ability to do so would be improved with the mop and bucket. My previous RfA attempt failed because of some concerns about my being overly curt with some people. That and the fact that I've been courageous (stupid) enough to self-nominate.  :-)

I think I've been carful with that, and most of the people I interact with seem to agree (I've managed to point a few newbies in the right direction), but since I still get the occasional admonition to not bite the newbies I'm obviously still doing something wrong.

I'm not very good at editing proper-- this is just not where my strength lies. I think I can contribute with cleanup tasks quite well, however, but I don't want to look like some evil monster from heck while doing so.

Think you can look over my work and give me pointers? Or beat some sense into me? Or something? Coren 05:44, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Anthony. I'm tempted to revert this speedy deletion you just made. I know the article is quite bad but I'm pretty sure it's not a speedy candidate and I'd prefer letting the whole AfD run. I believe the whole campaign might be famous enough (for all the wrong reasons of course!) to have received sufficient third-party coverage. See [5] for a sample. (although I can't find much in the way of reliable sources. Pascal.Tesson 20:41, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed, the article has become a pretty decent stub. I'm a deletionist leaning editor myself but I have the utmost respect for the people roaming AfD with the objective of rescuing as many articles as they can from the brink of deletion. They deserve full marks on this one. Pascal.Tesson 22:47, 25 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I can't honestly say that I've ever given much thought to you position in the deletion spectrum and actually I don't really care: I trust your judgment and I'm sure you'd never keep or delete on such ideological grounds and against common practice. I do suppose that a number of borderline articles end up following slightly different paths depending on which admin is working on CAT:CSD but in the end, the junk gets eventually deleted and the valuable topics which get the axe end up getting recreated in a more convincing shape. At the risk of (unintentionally) seeming uncivil myself: why are you so defensive in your interactions with me? I think you're doing a great job around here and I've always found you perfectly courteous with others so it would really take a lot for me to read anything you leave on my talk page as some sort of veiled attack. Perhaps you mistook my actions on I'm not Herb or the DrKiernan RfA as questioning your judgment but that is not my intent at all: when I disagree with editors I know, I've always found that dialog either gives rise to a good compromise or makes me realize that I'm wrong. Thank you for all that you have done!
How much love resides therein!

Why did you delete "garage punk"?

[edit]

Lemme guess... You've never heard of this style of rock'n'roll before. Did you even stop to do some research before pulling the plug on that very valid page? Look it up, it's even a category on allmusic.com. Are you THAT dense?

Click here for starters: garage punk

I started that page because it's a legitimate sub-genre of rock'n'roll, a combination of garage rock and punk rock. Maybe someone with a bit more experience with musical styles should be doing this stuff, because you're obviously clueless.

-kopper

Garagepunk was good!!!

[edit]

I thought it was really good! Why did you delete it??? I linked it on my myspace-profile!

We at www.garagepunk.com know you deleted the page about "Garage punk." I dont know why you did it, but when we make a new one, Do not delete it again!

Hey, garage punk is real!

[edit]

Hey Anthony Bradbury,

where o where has the garage punk page gone? If you think it's not a legitimate genre then please tell the legions of Oblivians fans, tell the people who post on the Goner Board, tell the Black Lips fans, tell those of us who are planning travel to Gonerfest, Cavestomp, and the Ponderosa Stomp. Seriously, this is a passionate community that tends to embrace this scene on many levels. We have our fans which I'd estimate amount to roughly equivalnt to the crowds that sdupported punk music in the 70s and early 80s. Of course we have our bands and labels. We also have our media: fanzines (Ugly Things, Shindig, Bad Trip, Wipe Out, Feline Frenzy), online message boards (Garagepunk.com, gonerrecords.com), list servers (Shindig, Bomp, and the various splinter groups), podcasts (again GaragePunk.com as well as those posted by individuals active on the other lists and boards), too many blogs to mention, and even movies (underground indie dir's J. Michael McCarthy and Dan Rose) and radio. Among the shows embraced by the garage punk community are WFMU's Dave the Spazz with Music To Spazz By, Mr. Finewine's Downtown Soulville, Rex's Fool's Paradise, and Little Steven's Underground Garage. We have a fashion, as much as some would like to deny it. Ranges from something akin to grunge to vintage mod print shirts and shift dresses with beatle boots for the guys, zip-up gogo boots for the gals, and Chuck Taylors for all. We even have our photographers, most notably Theresa Kereakes.

Of course nobody would hear the bands without the labels. The principles include Crypt, Norton, Bomp, Vox, Alive, Goner, Telestar, Chicken Ranch, Sundazed, Dionysus, and Estrus. Seminal garage punk events that connected the worldwide community during the 90s include GarageShock, a three to four day festival held in Bellingham, WA and sponsored by Estrus Records, Sleazefest in Chapel Hill, NC which was put together by Southern Culture On The Skids, the wold famous Las Vagas Grind, and New York's Cavestomp, which drew E Street guitarist Little Steven Van Zandt to the garage scene and inspired him to start his syndicated radio show Little Steven's Underground Garage", the Underground Garage channel on the Sirius satellite network, his Wicked Cool label and a garage chart in Billboard.

I assure you that garage punk is not a dismissable genre. That Wicked Cool is heavily promoted in a national chain like Best Buy should be enough proof. Although the name for the genre was coined only during the last decade, it encompasses mucis made from the last six decades. In fact, I own in the neighborhood of 40,000 records that fall under the definition of garage punk. It encompasses a wide range of primitive rock and roll all the way from Jackie Brenston's "Rocket 88" to wild one-man band Hasil Adkins to the country/folkie pop harmonies of the Everly Brothers and Byrds to underground yet iconic 60s bands like the Downliner Sect, Monks, We The People, Tamrons, Nightcrawlers, Elois, and Kegs, as well as the bigger sellers like the the Left Banke, Chocolate Watchband, Easybeats, Shadows of Knight, Paul Revere and the Raiders, Music Machine, Stooges, Yardbirds, and Love.

During the 70s, the Flamin Groovies and then the Cramps and Fleshtones carried the garage punk banner, inspiring revivalists who appeared in the 80s. The significant players include the Wylde Mammoths, Plasticland, Chesterfield Kings, and Lyres.

In the 90s The Woggles, Oblivians, Guitar Wolf, Subsonics, and Detroit Cobras surfaced. Everyone on that short list is still very active. The Woggles are currently supporting their ninth album and first for Wicked Cool. The Detroit Cobras have nearly a half dozen albums. They tour regularly and have even sold a song for a Diet Coke commercial. How much more mainstream is that? Guitar Wolf is currently planning a tour of the States, which always requires lots of orchestration because they call Japan home. The Subsonics are still together, but currently on hiatus for a year or two while Buffi Aguero, their drummer and den mother, focuses on the band she fronts, Tiger Tiger. Even though The Oblivians have split, all three members are still stirring the pot. Eric Oblivian heads Goner Records, a destination record store in Memphis that specializes in garage punk. He also owns a record label and sponsors for a modern garage punk shindig called Gonerfestthat draws talent and fans from as far as Europe, Japan, and Australia. Jack Oblivian has his own band, Jack O and the Tearjerkers and was rehearsing with Arthur Lee for a Love comeback at the time of Lee's death. Greg Oblivian has gone on to form the Reigning Sound who most recently backed up Mary Weiss after her critcally heralded resurrgence 40 years after the Shangri-Las called it quits. Not only did he play, but he also penned the lion's share of the material. Speaking of revived careers, the Mighty Hannibal emerged from total obscurity because of attention from the garage punk community after Norton Records released a compilation of his work in 2001. Of course, Norton Records is also rsponsible for coaxing Mary Weiss into a comeback, a story very recently chronicled by the Associated Press.

But this is not just some nostalgia show. The Crypt Records' Back From The Grave series of rare and wild 60s punk pounders inspired the Black Lips to form a band back when they were 16 and in highschool. They also cite some older brother's Link Wray and Teengenerate records as huge inspirations. These kids are so very hot right now. They tour the world and have for four years now. MTV even reported that they were *the* break out band of SXSW 2007. So did that newspaper of record, the New York Times. Their feet are planted squarely in the garage punk primitive aesthetic while they redefine the garage punk genre.

Modern garage punk also embraces a lot of 70's and 80's punk and powerpop. Often cited are Johnny Thunders, Big Star, Nick Lowe, Rockpile, Blondie, and the granddaddy Ramones. Musically, garage punk has to have guitars. Despite the technical simplicity, it must sound impassioned, hooky, energetic, and wild. It owes an influence to some part of the vintage rock and roll I cited above. And the songs are short... If it lacks all of that criteria, it cannot be garage punk.

so please reconsider deleting the garage punk entry. I assure you that it is as valid as rock and roll was in the 50s and punk rock in the 70s. Evidently garage punk is similarly regarded as disposable and dismissable as those other two genres which have come to define a large slice of modern pop culture. In this era of splintering musical genres, garage punk is every bit as legit as many of the other newer genres that remain on Wikipedia. I believe that disposing with the entry would be a rather myopic move.

thanks for culling through my rant. I felt it neccessary to dish up a sizable volume of info. Honestly, this is just a skinny slice of what defines garage punk, just what occurred to me in the past hour or so. I have a whole lot more to add if you still doubt the legitmacy of the genre. After seeing your profile, that your interests lie in other areas, that you express not a lick of interest in music, I would implore that you leave decisions like deleting music pages to those who are more musically literate.

[edit]

thank you for restoring the page. as you can see by my overview, the entry can use a sizable expansion. why it was whittled down to two lines is a mystery to me. Grrtch 21:03, 27 June 2007 (UTC)grrtch[reply]

I understand that two lines would make the entry entirely suspect. how can portions of the entry be safe from pranksters who chopped away a lot of content?

or was it some admin bothered by all of the reference needed tags? Those present a bit of a challenge. No library I know of has collected Creem, Trouser Press, or New York Rocker, periodicals that guided the taste for many rock and roll fans in the 70s. The zines I listed aren't cataloged anywhere either. One comment mentioned the allmusic.com guide. is that a good citation? but I see so many errors on that site, too. As for the Detroit Cobras tune used for a Diet Coke commercial, how does one cite the scuttlebutt from chatting with the original guitarist for the band? how would you cite the assertion tha tthe White Stripes are popular? hunt up a list of their MTV appearances, how many times their video got played, but that info is difficult to unearth. Sales numbers are concrete, but that info rarely escapes the distrubution/sales chain. or how would you cite a band's genre or influences when among music fans, it's common knowledge. You listen and hear the influences. A band can say Yardbirds all they want, but if you hear Fleshtones, who's right? the critic listening to the band or the band themselves who are predisposed to name checking the more hip predecessor to impress their fans.

Frankly, a lot of this is like documenting an oral tradition. It may be in written form, but it's essentially one village of rockers sharing info with another village, finding common ground and attracting new members to the community. Referencing a very real and very fluid music scene does present some problems. Grrtch 21:32, 27 June 2007 (UTC)grrtch[reply]

Yes, three (3) WTC towers collapsed on 9-11-01

[edit]

re: There were only ever two skyscrapers involved in the 9/11 attack. Where do you get three from? Two airplanes, two buildings. Awful, but comprehensible.--Anthony.bradbury"talk" 23:43, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

Unfortunately the block and page protection made it impossible for me to respond on the same page, so I am responding here. Nobody denies that a total of 3 towers collapsed on 9-11-01, and the video evidence proves it. If you research it you can easily find videos of all three towers collapsing into dust on that date, with many explosions. Either you were not aware of this, have forgotten (as I myself had, before 4 days ago), or maybe you do not consider the 47-storey WTC 7 to be technically a "skyscraper" since it was dwarfed by the twin towers across the street. 172.148.16.4 00:01, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It is true, 3 buildings did collapse, it's just a question of whether or not building 7 is notable enough in the grand scheme of things for inclusion - a reference would need to be found for it. Ryan Postlethwaite 00:08, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ryan, if that's supposed to be funny, it is actually in rather poor taste, given the enormity of human loss in the first two towers. If you are serious, it is simply incredible -- even the shrillest of shills couldn't possibly be taking the position that the collapse of the third (yes third) skyscaper on 9-11 (ie WTC 7) is "insignificant" and therefore "not notable" for mention. 172.164.224.35 01:19, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The Twin Towers were two buildings. The World Trade Center Complex were three (actually more) buildings. I believe the issue here may be mostly semantics. Newyorkbrad 00:16, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There were only two aircraft involved. The attack was recorded on video. Two aircraft flew into two buildings. That's it. Collateral damage is certainly relevant, but that is not what the original editor claimed.--Anthony.bradbury"talk" 00:14, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

And, just for the record, the World Trade Centre consistred of only two buildings. --Anthony.bradbury"talk" 00:17, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That's... not entirely accurate. It was a complex of 7 buildings. See World Trade Center. - CHAIRBOY () 00:26, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WTC

[edit]

OK, no argument. But how many were flown into?--Anthony.bradbury"talk" 00:28, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The edit I saw was just that three towers of the WTC collapsed due to the attack on 9/11, not sure how that applies to your statement. - CHAIRBOY () 00:31, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I do not argue the point that there were seven buidings in the WTC. But only two were flown into, and only two collapsed as a result thereof. Surely this is a matter of record, not an article for debate? It is, after all, factual. --Anthony.bradbury"talk" 00:36, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
See comments on my talk. Regards, Newyorkbrad 01:23, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sure that 2 planes hit 2 buildings, and I'm pretty sure that WTC 7 collapsed because of the other 2 buildings (debris, fire, etc). In fact, every building at the WTC site probably got damaged. Don't rely on me though, I was only 7 when it happened! :) --(Review Me) R ParlateContribs@ (Let's Go Yankees!) 03:06, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You better not tell Rosie O'Donnell that WTC 7 collapsed from the other 2 buildings. She thinks it was from controlled explosives. What a convince time to have explosives in a building... ~ Wikihermit 21:50, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You took the safe path in dealing with this IP vandal, which I don't necessarily disagree with. However, after being warned about blanking pages on his talk page, he said "I don't care," and signed as claymort. There is another rant, also signed as claymort, at Talk:List of Ed, Edd n Eddy Season 2 episodes. That rant establishes that he is behind some of the vandalism edits, and also that he has no respect for Wikipedia. It also matches the COMMANDS that he put on some articles, saying to leave his edits alone. I think he has established his identity, despite being an IP editor. I give little leeway to IP editors, since it is so easy to make your own account, and also so easy for vandals to hide behind. IP editors who resist making their own accounts probably have a good reason not to. I would ask that you monitor this user closely. Thank you. -- Elaich talk 23:18, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tony, You deleted urgently the article about possible wikiPage hacking I suffered recently in my talk page when trying to describe Red Army crimes category articles. I suppose, that wikiPage hacking is characteristick trick of Russian army services hackers and this must be comsidered in some way especialy after russians mass attacks against estonian sites.

Sorry, I must place the answer, becouse I'm not sure it will be visionable on my talk page becouse of still lasting hacking attack.
Thanks Honourable proffesor Anthony.bradbury. Unfortunately I had no enough practice of English for five years, but I'm going to improve it, I believe. My personal beliefs are not very important for wikipedia, but EU comission is going to discuss nontheoretical comunism crimes againt, so it is the time to tough those questions more proffesionally, than it was before. I see, Your experience about hacking of any sites or wikipedia is not great enough, becouse Your proffesion is humanistic, but not technical. It is possible to hack wiki even very strong (like having ax not sculpel) - a week ago I obtained such proposal, but my answer was not. Now I suffered myself some tricks of such kind but was not able to describe this proffesionaly, and trust me - this page is possibly hacked again - I can't edit single articles, only the whole article. It is possible to edit pages leaving no trace, and under such attack You are not sure You see the same texts as Your friend or opponent does. This is becouse of complex machinery of all the world web net of servers, rooters, switches - underground world where some specialist feel themselves like deep water fishes. I trust lots of administrators tries to work according to the system of rules, but sometimes it is not easy to stay right. Russian culture full of emotions and beuty is impressive, but there are lots of different sides of this phenomena and russians like to say it is not understandable by the brains. Red army I know the best from the all armies, I've got the different experiences from soviet school and propoganda, my aunt, BBC and even from red army officers, so I've tried to change little situation in wikipedia, but I'm loosing cause I've got only five days for real thesis of history, and only few people supports me. This very profesional hacker attack having clever psychological background is a great phenomena of working XXI century FANTOM.Ttturbo 22:01, 1 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. About wiki hacking You don't trusted!!! Hacking Wikipedia? March 28, 2005 | 14 Comments

This is more of a question than a post. I’ve been thinking about the Wikipedia quite a bit lately and I wanted to know if anyone out there knows of any APIs for hooking into or querying it. I realize that you can download the Wikipedia database, but I’m curious to know if it’s possible to run queries or extract data from it in some way.

Any ideas or examples would be greatly appreciated. As well, if you know of any applications or sites that are using the Wikipedia in anyway, I’d love to see those as well.

Comments 1. Jeremy Flint said: I have been using Trillian on my PC at work for instant messaging, and it will highlight words and show you definitions.

Starting with 3.0, those terms are pulled from Wikipedia.

2. David Barrett said: What exactly are you looking to do with the Wikipedia, Keith? Ultimately, you’re looking for something to fulfil certain needs, and before we can track down something that’s useful we’ll need to have a better idea of what you’re trying to do.

There is at least one API available for Perl, but WWW::Wikipedia at least is of very limited utility.

The Special:Export stuff (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Export) seems to be the what you would want to build an API off of. Take a look at the Special:Export stuff for the Train article

It looks promising… there’s plenty of stuff available to use. But as the Wikipedia site only contains a reference to one Perl API, I suspect one hasn’t been developed yet to meet your needs (unless all you’re looking for is the ability to search the site).

3. Keith said: David – I wish I had a better answer for you, but really I’m not 100% sure what I’m trying to do–if anything really. I’m just curious.

I guess what I’m thinking about is a way to pull Wikipedia information into another Web application or site. Like how I can pull RSS or Amazon information into Asterisk.

Say, for example, I wanted to create an online bookstore and in addition to the information I pulled from Amazon, my own information, or whatever, I wanted to also pull info from the Wikipedia for the author, etc. and have that info displayed within my application.

Something like that…

Retrieve the data, and take out the innerHTML of the “content” div, then placed it somewhere on your site.

5. Chris Vincent said: I’m not sure about an API or anything, but http://www.answers.com/ pulls information from Wikipedia when applicable. It’s actually a pretty brilliant idea; I wish I would have come up with it first.

Answers.com is also the new definitions site used by Google. I like it much better than dictionary.com.

6. Keith said: Chris – Ok, yeah, just like that! So, anyone know how they do that??

Posted on March 28, 2005 01:35 PM | #

7. David Barrett said: Keith: Well, WWW::Wikipedia should be able to do that for you. The problem, of course, is making sure that the entry in the Wikipedia for that name is actually an entry for that author. It could refer to someone else entirely.

Still, it could be what you’re looking for.

Posted on March 28, 2005 01:38 PM | #

8. Simon Willison said: I’ve used Special:Export and it works pretty well. You have to be very careful with automated queries of Wikipedia though, as they already have pretty bad performance and scaling problems and you wouldn’t want to do anything that impacted the performance of the site.

9. Daniel said: I’ve been thinking about something like this, too, given how many times in the past few weeks I’ve referred directly to Wikipedia material. I had in mind the idea that I could as an SOP earmark terms which I thought potentially needed some further explanation I wasn’t intending to provide, and have the appropriate Wikipedia article linked. I even considered an experiment wherein every single word of a post was linked to Wikipedia, which may or may not be useful or engaging, but it might be interesting nonetheless.

However, being of meager technical skill, and with too little time to write let alone explore this sort of thing, I left it to die like so many other pipe dreams. Wouldn’t it be nifty if there were some plugin developed with some simple markup syntax that would take something like “wp:Godel:wp” and turn it into a link to the Kurt Godel entry?

Good luck.

There’s an apparently moribund Wikipedia API for Python project. For Firefox, it would be trivial to write a greasemonkey script to mimic Google’s AutoLink (or M$ Smart Tags), as Mark Pilgrim did with his “Butler” script, only directing to Wikipedia. Getting correct results would be tricky – I wrote in my blog about a site, upto11, that pulls in band articles, except there are often errors – such as Manitoba (Caribou) displaying the article for the province!

dan – That Upto11 site is very close to what I was thinking as far as Wikipedia use. It was the great entries on music, movies, and books that got me thinking…and I can’t help but think that the Wikipedia could be doing much more…combine it with something like Ourmedia and, well….

Anyway, Upto11 has an interesting take on an similar idea I was tossing about the other day. Not the same, but close. For one thing it seems almost too automated…I like my recommendations with more of a personal touch. But the use of Wikipedia is almost exactly what I was thinking. I can see how it’d need a good editor (or three) to avoid errors like you mention.

I wonder if they’d tell me how they did it? ;0)

Rui Reininho

[edit]

I hope you can restore the deleted article about Rui Reininho. This person, along with his band, is an icon of Portuguese music. He is not a Pokémon character, I know, but in Portugal he is among the most widely noted singers of Portuguese pop-rock, at least since the 1980s. Page Up 04:01, 1 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Excluding point 8 and 9 of Wikipedia:Notability (music)'s criteria for musicians and ensembles, Rui Reininho and his band GNR (band) qualify. You can say the article is a stub and has lack of references, ok, I can agree with you on that. Unfortunately, Wikipedia has thousands of articles with these same problems. But mentionning the issue of notability and relevance of this article is not admissible. In this case, wikify, expand and clean tags are perhaps admissible, not a speedy deletion. GNR (band) and Rui Reininho (GNR's lead vocalist) are getting older, and as of 2007 are not among the most requested or popular bands in the country (only 30 or 40 performances in 2006, from 200 in the early 1990s), but during the 1980s and 1990s they made an inpact and were a tremendous success. Since you closed the deletion discussion for this article before it has even started and speedy-deleted it so fast, and I don't remember what is the text cointained there, I can't talk about the deleted article. However, I don't feel obligated to expand it just because it may be a stub or has no references, IMO this is not the point as I explained before. Please have a look at this Portuguese site Interview with Rui Reininho about the 25 years career of the singer SPA - Sociedade Portuguesa de Autores (Portuguese Authors Society), and search for "Grupo Novo Rock" using Google search engine. Page Up 17:37, 1 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree we are all friends here when we assume good faith and when we behave in good faith. Thanks for restoring the article, however I wasn't quick enough to expand it before a second deletion. The speedy deletion tag can have a powerful effect on administrators. I still wonder if an expand or a references tag and perhaps a notice in the article's creator talk page would be more appropriate in certain situations like this one where we have a wikilink to the band - but that's just my opinion. Lithuanian diplomacy

[edit]

Anthony.bradbury, please look at one of the most recent communications from Ttturbo which appears to summarize his mindset and goals. Given its content and the nature of the back and forth communications of the past few days, I'm suggesting that the best course going forward is to not directly engage Ttturbo any more. Even the most conciliatory and rational communications with him prompt suspicions of secret police machinations and accusatory responses. There seems to be a deadline approaching over the next five days that is driving his crusade. It's possible that once this deadline passes, Ttturbo may move on to other projects. I'm thinking of placing this same message on other key players' Talk pages as well.

Nothing to apologize for :). Actually, you've been an admin longer than I have...I've been one less than a month. I just try and be a concise as possible when blocking and such, and have found myself to be somewhat of a stickler in regards to UAA and AIV, as I have found a lot of personal grievances instead of actual vandalism at times. Anyway, I think I have much more to learn from you as a matter of fact. I think you're right on the username block by the way. Hope all's well in Jolly Ol', and the recent news isn't causing too much consternation on that side of the pond. Happy editing Tony :) Jmlk17 22:05, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

hey, no hard feelings... Ya know, the page had been up for a long time. Originally it was researched and documented, so I have to wonder if vandals got to it and made it vulnerable for deletion. there's a juvenile feud between garagepunk.com and another board. It's mostly fueled by them, and they do like to prank the garagepunk board. This weekend, we have been noticing links removed to garagepunk.com and to one particular band that inspires strong feelings. Ya either love them or hate them, but zapping their link is inconsistant with the rest of links to bands. It's just one prankster's opinion. Why garagepunk.com was deleted as a fan site while the Goner link remains is also inconsistant. gp.com is a clearing house for info on releases, shows, discussion, etc... Goner is sponsored by a record store and label, and sponsors a message board. wouldn't that make them a fan site AND one that promotes commercial interests? Frankly, I'd like to see both up there, but the vandal is pretty dogged about checking back and deleting just what he/she dislikes. how can we address that?

Speedy deletion of Zachary_Coffin

[edit]

Hi. Thanks for your work on all this. I'm new to Wiki. Can you undelete your speedy deletion?

Regarding the reason given -- notability (Db-bio) -- please see http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1882579/ for evidence of notability info on subject, including credits, news articles, etc.

Separately, but unfortunately, I am the subject of the article, Zachary Coffin, so there's also a seeming CoI; but in reality, I just put up the most basic, absolutely neutral info -- no opinions, etc. I did this because I was referenced in another article at Wiki, but my name was missing a link. Specifically, the article listing the cast for the 2007 film "A Mighty Heart" at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Mighty_Heart_%28film%29 links to me, Zachary Coffin, a cast member.

Btw, the article for the 1998 film "Simple Gifts" (which I created) at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simple_Gifts_(film) also links to Zachary Coffin, as I was associate producer.

Finally, the article for "Bhopal Movie" at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhopal_Movie (which someone else created a few months ago), probably should link to Zachary Coffin, as I am the producer. (Btw, just today, someone is now proposing deletion of this entry, too. I don't want to touch it, for fear that people will think CoI is too much, but I'd be grateful if you could address this -- evidence of notability info is at http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0453568/)

Thank you very much for your patience in helping me navigate all this.

Best regards,

zcoffinZcoffin 06:17, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I have refrained from posting to your talk page on this subject so far, as I do not wish to tell granny how to suck eggs. However, I feel so frustrated over this that I will ask a question.
Could you explain why Zachary Coffin is allowed to remain when it clearly, and admittedly by all parties, violates WP:COI and possibly WP:VANITY? I do not doubt that the subject will prove notable. But you know that the originator of the article should not be the subject, and I fear your reinstatement of the speedy deletion is wrong.
I have had some discussion with Zachary, and I know that he can see the error also. Thanks. Ref (chew)(do) 08:02, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Out of respect for Zachary, and in view of his potential notability, I would rather he asked for deletion of his own article, with a view to a request being made in the appropriate place for its (re)creation by independent editor(s). I have put this to him, pointing out that he could retain all the info and formatting by copying the source to a text file on his local PC. His reluctance in this is what makes me suspicious on vanity grounds. In some small way, I can see why editors get frustrated and leave, when policy is not strictly adhered to and admins over-use discretion (no personal attack intended; generalisation) in a minority of cases. If the policy is incorrect, it should be changed to reflect exactly what Wikipedians should expect to happen as a result of its application by those with the tools. Best wishes as always. Ref (chew)(do) 21:05, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've deleted article and pasted to Notepad. I'm not sure if I should let you know in some other area of the Wiki (it gets a little complex to keep track of the different threaded conversations), but I've made a note also on the actual page. Thanks again -- to both of you -- for your earnest efforts. Best regards, z Zcoffin 22:42, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Don't Fight the Funk

[edit]

We are very disappointed that you approved the deletion of our article, "Don't Fight the Funk." It described a game which is very frequently played by urban youths, much like such informal schoolyard games as Blob Tag and Wall Ball, both of which are allowed on Wikipedia. While it is uncommon to employ a negation to describe the goal of a game, it does not make the article and especially the game "incoherent". You should know that it is also known by the less esoteric name "Bus Surfing."

Thank you.

(Comment - oops! "One of which is allowed" - Blob Tag got deleted!) Ref (chew)(do) 21:08, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mhatai

[edit]

I placed a db-nonsense tag on the Mhatai page which you have removed. Before adding the tag I used Google to look for such an island and it only found a copy of the article on answers.com, which it had copied from Wikipedia. Reading the article itself, it seems a little too incredible, like a village with 60 people having a cinema and an internet cafe.

This page has previously been deleted via an AFD vote - Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mhatai.

Could you please have another look at the suitability of this article. It is a good, well written hoax, but nothing more. --Mendors 00:48, 7 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

neologism

[edit]

Thanks for correcting me, I worded it poorly, I should have said that it did not meet any of the criteria for speedy. --that's what I intended to apply -- It's not really empty or incoherent, and A7 only applies to the categories listed. I agree there's no specif policy involved, just the general ones. I'll change the remark on the prod message. But first, do you think it does meet a speedy category? DGG (talk) 22:04, 7 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

many are so empty that speedy would apply, and I as well would use speedy in some cases. As you know, there's been some concern about overuse of speedy -- instigated by some particularly inappropriate speedies that were reversed at Deletion Review. The talk at WT:Speedy has been moving towards further restrictions, and I think its a good time to follow the letter of the policy. Now, I do have a general opinion here-- I did not bring the latest proposal for restriction tho I support it, and have suggested similar. So perhaps its a discussion about our somewhat different views in general.-- which I'd of course be glad to discuss--
For the article, looking at the history it will be objected to, so I guess it will end up at AfD--where, if no further information is provided, I will say to delete. For the general question of neologisms, if you do want to establish it as speediable, I think it has to be discussed, but I am not sure where or when. There will need to be a general discussion of the meaning of empty and nonsense as speedy criteria in any case. But since the main issue there now is A7. and I think that's enough of a problem, I'd prefer to wait--I find I am unable to follow too many threads at a time. DGG (talk) 22:29, 7 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I see this particular article has now been tagged by somebody else as G11, to which I have no real objection. DGG (talk) 23:08, 7 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If being polite and apologizing is my style, yes I continue in my spirit. Thanks for unblocking. Cheers! SosoMK 13:16, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, I think this is an absurd of some kind. S. had received very strong warnings [7] long ago. He remained persistently incivil after that, and on the last occasion clearly violeted the 3RR. If Mikkalai wanted to supervise him he could do this after he would return from a fairly legal block. If wikipedia has any formal "supervision" please refer me to it, otherwise the unblock is illigal. Also, I did not see any "supervision" when S. made a chauvinistic statement in his spirit, this time against Tatars. I understand that you have firm rules as an admin, but could you please talk to other admins and let me know what you dicide about this user. It dose not make sense to chase him with bureaucratic rules, when he is: denigrating different nationalities and ethnic groups, insulting different political ideaologies, smearing Georgian politicians just because they are in opposition etc. I am not saying anything about his POV, edit warring and incivility to fellow wikipedians. Hi. Looking at the earlier contributions, it does seem likely that the same individual has made all of the edits from this IP, so a longer block may be appropriate. I would personally stick with 48 hours, as the previous 24 hour block did seem to discourage them for several months, and I always hope that even the worst vandal can be rehabilitated. However, if you feel that 1 week would be more effective, I have no objection to you changing it. Thanks for letting me know. Cheers TigerShark 00:16, 15 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Help with article about (Kirk Fraser)

[edit]

Im sending you a request. I've look over the deletion of Kirk Fraser, The original article had the incorrect spelling of his last name. Check out the (http://www.answers.com/topic/kirk-frasier) the article is still wrong. We originally created a new page on Wikipedia with the correct spelling and paste the content from Wikipedia with the incorrect spelling of Frasier. It was shortly deleted, we once again created it again, and it was also deleted. We don't know what to do. It seems like once it's up it taken down again, when it was originally put up by some one else. We just wanted to change the spelling of the Last name and fix the content that was wrong. Can you please help me in guiding me to correct this issue. Thanks.—Preceding unsigned comment added by YousoCrazy (talkcontribs)
