Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to Sega Genesis, did not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you. -- ferret (talk) 19:24, 13 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Dear ferret,

Thank you for your feedback. The reason I edited that was because the Genesis was originally called Mega Drive, and it became Genesis when it entered the USA. There is lots of Americanism on Wikipedia, and I thought it was a good idea to change that and put the name in the country it started in.

Your draft article, Draft:Timeline of Brexit

[edit]

Hello, Mrspagehttiwe2019. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Timeline of Brexit".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! UnitedStatesian (talk) 03:54, 31 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Death of Diego Maradona requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

too short; has plenty potential, but the author doesn't deserve the credit for creation

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. — Yerpo Eh? 17:30, 25 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

July 2022

[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Castle Green railway station. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. signed, Rosguill talk 23:34, 18 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the information. However, the Castle Green railway station article already existed, but it was a redirect to the Renwick Road railway station article. Given that the new article already existed, the default moving process couldn’t be able to work.
Thanks, --delta (talk) 15:23, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
In that case, you need to request a move at WP:RM so that a some with pagemover permissions can help you complete the move. signed, Rosguill talk 15:34, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
