Welcome!
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia, Another Type of Zombie! I am Demiurge1000 and have been editing Wikipedia for quite some time. Thank you for your contributions. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Wikipedia! If you have any questions check out Wikipedia:Questions, or feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or type {{helpme}} at the bottom of this page. I love to help new users, so don't be afraid to leave a message! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:
- Introduction
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- How to write a great article
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Also, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. Again, welcome!

Your adoption request
[edit]For some unfathomable reason one of the anti-vandal systems intercepted your message as a personal attack. I have forwarded it to User talk:Ctjf83#Adoption. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 18:05, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
Of course you can join the WikiFun Police right away (and being a mental nut-case is practically a prerequisite for us)! Although the project itself is a bit dormant, a few of us are working hard over at WP:Trading card game.
On an unrelated note, I noticed that you were looking for an adopter. I don't know if I have the time to commit to being an "official" adopter, but I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have at any time regarding any subject (especially with counter-vandalism, which is a field of interest for me).
Happy editing! EWikistTalk 00:46, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
Adoption
[edit]Hello, what can I assist you with on Wikipedia? :) CTJF83 05:21, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
- Well, for now I have signed up for the Wikipedia Fun Police thing, because I like managing events and pages like that. Erm...I would like to learn more about Books, and would also like to join the Project for South Africa, and I think I can help translate things in Afrikaans to English. Also, thanks for adopting me :). --Another Type of Zombie talk 08:34, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
- If you want, we can keep this convo together for easier future review. I have you on my watchlist, so I will see when you respond. I've never adopted anyone, so I'll have to read up on what to do.
- I don't know much about books but WP:BOOKS will provide answers for you.
- Go to Wikipedia:WikiProject South America to join that project. Translations would be great! I'm sure we could always use those. Curious as to where you find me and why you chose me? If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask me! CTJF83 15:51, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
- No...South Africa :p. Not South America. Also, don't worry about special things and such. I'll try my best not to pester ya. Okay, I'll read more about books, and I'll check out the translations thing. Thanks a lot! --Another Type of Zombie talk 16:08, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
- LOL, oops Wikipedia:WikiProject South Africa and join at Wikipedia:WikiProject South Africa/Participants. Don't worry about it, I'm here to help, ask away! CTJF83 16:17, 9 April 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Rebecca Black.jpg
[edit]A tag has been placed on File:Rebecca Black.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}
) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hi! In relation to the above - the CSD tag is a bit strict, but basically a frame from a television show belongs to the network, as a general rule, and therefore is under copyright. So while you may take a screenshot, you aren't then allowed to share it. We can sometimes use screenshots such as that under a fair use claim, but that isn't normally the case with people still alive, as there is a chance we may be able t get a free use image. - Bilby (talk) 14:49, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for the help! I'm very new to copyright related matters, and I'm sorry if I was a hassle. Another Type of Zombie talk 15:42, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
- No problem - copyright is a tad tricky. :) My apologies again for the rather harsh nature of the CSD tag - I do't like how they appear, but they have relevant information that can help. - Bilby (talk) 15:48, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
- Nah. It's cool. Gets the message through :p . Anyway, thanks again! Another Type of Zombie talk 15:51, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
Replaceable fair use File:Rebecca Black.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Rebecca Black.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —GFOLEY FOUR— 14:53, 24 April 2011 (UTC)

New deal for page patrollers
[edit]Hi Another Type of Zombie,
In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.
Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.
Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:28, 13 November 2016 (UTC)
