License tagging for Image:3044325523.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:3044325523.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 15:05, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Cochise Hotel., requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group or service and which would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Bubba hotep 15:47, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A note

Another note

[edit]

If you are trying to redirect an article you have created to another article on Wikipedia, it is best to use the #REDIRECT command. For more information, see here. Any questions, please ask. – Bubba hotep 16:01, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, please be careful with this command! Bubba hotep 16:02, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your comment on the Cochise Hotel. talk page

[edit]

Wikipedia contains articles about many things, it is not just here to provide links to other sites. Links may be used in context of the article and only in an article which supplies other (original) information. Somebody searching, say with Google, would find the site you are adding quicker than by coming here first and then going off there. Hope this helps. Bubba hotep 16:08, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm just restoring this, so people know I've spoken to you about it at least. :) Bubba hotep 16:30, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
If you created the article on the Cochise Hotel., I have a couple of reccomendations. I looked at the website, it claims it is mentioned as something like "America's Most authentic old west hotel" Frommers. That would be great information to add to the article to ensure it does not get deleted. However, the article will probably get moved because of the punctuation in the name. If there is anything I can do to help ya, please let me know on my user talk page -- Chrislk02 (Chris Kreider) 16:39, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I feel ya, it is a tough crowd. If you take a look at the article. I got a good start to it. The key to a good article is showing why it is imporant! I am glad I can help, i know there are alot of people who WP:BITE, and shouldent! That is why people like Bubba and I try to be nice (I am just making an assumption that is why Bubba is so helpful)! If there is anything else I can do to help or you have any questions at all, please let me know. -- Chrislk02 (Chris Kreider) 16:44, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, precisely my reasoning, Chris. I feel this editor has potential if guided in the right direction. :) Bubba hotep 16:48, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
take a look at the article now Cochise Hotel. It is a start, but there is a fairly good amount of information available on the hotel! It is just a start but thank you for the contribution. It is mich appreciated! -- Chrislk02 (Chris Kreider) 17:03, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Is it a picture you have taken or a picture from a website? If it is from a website, i will reccomend posting the link to it on my talk page to make sure it can be used. If it is a picture of your own, that you own the copyright too, then on the left, there is a link called, "upload file" click on that, follow the instructions, and remeber the name of the file you uploaded. -- Chrislk02 (Chris Kreider) 17:11, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Do the pictures look old or have they been recently taken? It is possible that the copyright may have expired on them. I will do a little more research adn see what I can find. -- Chrislk02 (Chris Kreider) 17:23, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on 1860 immigration schedule, Ancestry.com, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. If you plan to add more material to the article, I advise you to do so immediately. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Cocoaguy (Talk)| (Edits) 16:41, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You are quite welcome. Just ask if you need any help. :) Cocoaguy (Talk)| (Edits) 16:46, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cochise, AZ

[edit]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did in Cochise, AZ. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Hello! Re: Courtland, Arizona, you created the article with just an external link. Such articles can be speedied under the speedy delete guidelines. You also created Cochise, Arizona, which Chrislk02 kindly turned into a nice stub for you, and thus the article was kept. Basically there needs to be some text there, rather than just a link. Hope that helps. I think it's great that you're creating new articles! Cheers, Fang Aili talk 18:20, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry If i am stepping on your toes with the article on Big Nose Kate. I fixed up the references into the proper format, and did a little bit more cleanup on the article. It is an intersting article and you have done some pretty good work on it! Kepe up the good work. -- Chrislk02 (Chris Kreider) 18:19, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The stub that I created for Cochise, Arizona, took me about 5 minutes to write. You should try it too! What I basically do is do a google search for the town name and find an article with some good information! Then, dont copy it directly, just gather the userful information like when it was founded, etc etc, and add that to the article. Then cite it. I will give you some citing advice here in a second. -- Chrislk02 (Chris Kreider) 18:27, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
There are 2 major parts to citing stuff. 1.) cite it in the article. this is done with special tags that hide the information until later. These tags are <ref> at the beginning of the reference and </ref> at the end of the reference. anything between those ref tags wont be seen until a special section is added later. 2.) create the references section. At the bottom of the page, copy and paste this exactly <div class="references-small"><references/></div> and you have your referenced created article! Admin will be more likley to leave you alone after that., -- Chrislk02 (Chris Kreider) 18:29, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. However, it is recommended that you use the preview button before you save; this helps you find any errors you have made, and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history. Thanks again.
