So what the WP:NBAND criteria basically says that even though the artist has had an album produced on more than one label, and she has her own actual Wikipedia article (see Michelle Malone) that her band can't have an entry since one of the record labels is run by the artist? That really doesn't make much sense. The data in the entry is verifiable from non-Wikipedia sources as well as sources other than the artist herself, how exactly does this rate non-inclusion? Andyfore (talk) 16:18, 1 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Your draft has zero sources, that is what we base articles on, reliable independent sources. Theroadislong (talk) 16:20, 1 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, there was a source, it just was not under a properly formatted References section, which I have since corrected. Given that my entry now contains as much if not more useful and verifiable information than the one for the record label Hi Fi Recordings, hopefully it will be accepted this time. Andyfore (talk) 16:39, 1 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You will need at least three good references that cover the band in significant detail, an Allmusic bio doen't even come close and the Hi Fi Recordings should probably be deleted as not notable, I have tagged it. See other poor quality articles exist, it is not a good argument. Theroadislong (talk) 16:48, 1 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately, indie bands don't always merit such coverage. This is a rather unfortunate situation, as the Musicbrainz site relies on the articles from Wikipedia for both the artist information/bio as well as the artist images. I will scour some of the independent artists rags from that time period, but I doubt that I will find much. I understand that the existence of poor quality articles is not a good argument, I was just surprised that mine was declined when it clearly had more salient information as well as could be used as an expansion article for Michelle Malone's article. Hopefully I will find the backing material in the future. Andyfore (talk) 16:55, 1 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
