Div hists Suggestion
I have enjoyed the collective effort to improve the 66th Division history and will add material to the 63rd as and when. If you're minded to do anything on the other divisional articles I'd like to participate. Thanks Keith-264 (talk) 12:41, 18 January 2015 (UTC)
- I've written about a third to half of 20th (Light) Division (based on the divisional history); currently somewhere at the end of the Somme and need to get back to it. Will let you know...
- As far as WWI divisions go, I made a stab at assessing where we're up to here. Not great! Andrew Gray (talk) 13:15, 18 January 2015 (UTC)
- Hmmm, could be a lifetime's work. When I parachuted material into the 63rd Division, I didn't know anyone had an interest and it makes a refreshing change. I need to get revised 1st Ypres finished when my motivation returns and end the punch-up over the Somme page but I'll be at a loose end for a while.
- I found the 20th Div hist quite helpful recently when doing a few of the Local Operations 1915–1916. Smaller tasks fill the gap and it occurs that with most of the Div hists and the OH I'm quite well placed to help. Keith-264 (talk) 13:44, 18 January 2015 (UTC)
- I've stuck my first draft up at User:Andrew Gray/20th. Covers up to the end of Guillemont (6/9/16); so probably about a third of the overall material. Nothing except the DivHist used yet. The interesting challenge is going to be the divisions without official histories, which is a handful of the New Army ones and some of the second-wave TF. Andrew Gray (talk) 23:22, 18 January 2015 (UTC)
- I added gleanings from the OH and James for a chronology, it appears that the Division was rebuilt after Rosieres 1918 but was tucked away on quiet fronts for the duration. There are entries in most of the OH volumes for the division, most in lesser detail than the Divhist Keith-264 (talk) 09:54, 19 January 2015 (UTC)
- Moorhouse, B. (2003). Forged By Fire: The Battle Tactics and Soldiers of a World War One Battalion: The 7th Somerset Light Infantry. Kent: Spellmount. ISBN 1-86227-191-7. is detailed on the battalion and has general remarks about the division. Keith-264 (talk) 09:56, 19 January 2015 (UTC)
- In view of Peacemaker's strictures about the age of sources, perhaps mine aren't going to be as helpful as I'd hoped. Feel free to dump anything that's inconvenient. Keith-264 (talk) 19:03, 19 January 2015 (UTC)
- I've trawled what sources I have which are comparatively recent (more than I expected as it happens) but it's not much. The recent article additions look rather good though. Keith-264 (talk) 11:08, 27 January 2015 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for January 28
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 66th Division (United Kingdom), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Saint-Quentin. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
