Alp Arslan
[edit]Why did you move this to "Arp Aslan"? Adam Bishop (talk) 03:43, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
Hmm, I see he is sometimes called that, but I think that may have been an alternate pronunciation, by medieval Armenians or something. It's definitely properly "Alp Arslan". Adam Bishop (talk) 22:20, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
License tagging for File:Abdulmalik.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Abdulmalik.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.
For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 21:07, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
Don't create unreferenced articles
[edit]Please do not create articles without including any supporting references as you did with Battle of Roccavione and Battle of Montebruno. I have also removed the claims that US and Saudi troops were fighting in Yemen as part of Operation Blow to the Head as none of the sources given in the article stated this. Fair use rationale for File:Abdullahmehdar.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Abdullahmehdar.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk 02:34, 26 December 2010 (UTC)
Astigiani Wars
[edit]Please see the Talk:Astigiani Wars page for a discussion of what the article name needs to be. Also note that the article needs additional citations and verifiable sources. I've added the article as of interest to two Projects. You've done a lot of work on this. I'd like to see it mature. You may be able to get added help at either or both of the projects. Please remember we're producing encyclopedic content based on Wikipedia's Five Pillars. SBaker43 (talk) 09:04, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
Stop making up names for stuff
[edit]The term "Nanda War", capitalised like that, is a name. We are not licensed to make up names. We can describe things in whatever way is accurate based on our reliable sources, and we can title it in any way that is in accordance with our conventions, but we cannot just make up a name for it. If we were professional authors, we could. But we're not, so we can't. You've done this before. Srnec (talk) 00:38, 27 January 2011 (UTC)

Your contributed article, George S. Patton, Sr
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, George S. Patton, Sr. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - George S. Patton. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will to continue helping improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at George S. Patton - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.
If you think that the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. ttonyb (talk) 19:31, 19 February 2011 (UTC)
Gan Xing
[edit]Hi, in case you didn't know, the Gan Xing in Red Cliff is actually a fictional character, whom some believe to be based on Gan Ning. I've redirected the page to Gan Ning#Modern references. Lonelydarksky (暗無天日) contact me (聯絡) 13:49, 9 March 2011 (UTC)
Hello American Idiot1. You've created this article. It has no reliable sources (Wikipedia can not serve as a source for itself). Where did you read that Ghausuddin was a Foreign Minister of the Taliban? Please, could you reveal your sources for this statement? Thank you. Btw, the Daily Times article (currently listed in the List of Taliban leaders) says he was a local Taliban commander in Zabul. --Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 20:42, 4 April 2011 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Jason Amerine
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Jason Amerine requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}
) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Bazj (talk) 12:32, 17 April 2011 (UTC)

Nomination of Conquest of the Nanda Empire for deletion
[edit]A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Conquest of the Nanda Empire is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Conquest of the Nanda Empire until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Chewings72 (talk) 11:23, 3 May 2017 (UTC)
The article Ghausuddin has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Only sources I could find for this individual were a few news articles giving his date of death. Not enough coverage to write a substantial biography.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Cerebellum (talk) 09:59, 4 December 2019 (UTC)
The article Battle of Afghanya has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Small-unit engagement with no broader strategic significance, no more notable than hundreds of other similar engagements that have happened in Afghanistan over the past 19 years. I couldn't find any sources apart from the Zullo book.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
