Please do not add original research or novel syntheses of previously published material to our articles as you apparently did to Cadillac DTS. Please cite a reliable source for all of your information. Thank you. --Sable232 (talk) 20:31, 11 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I did site a reliable source. I don't know who you are, but you do not run this site. This is a cite open for editing. As long as i have a reference, you shouldn't touch it. I put time and reserach into my edits only for you to undo all of them!
The source explicitly states: "It remains to be seen if GM will offer will offer the DTS with another powertrain or will send it to the automotive graveyard along with the Northstar." Yet, you used that source to claim that GM was going to drop the DTS. That is deliberately misleading. Wikipedia is not a place for you to publish your speculation and theories. If you're looking for that I suggest you try here. --Sable232 (talk) 22:11, 11 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I said the DTS may be dropped due to the cancellation of the Northstar engine. Yes, i shouldn't have messed with the production date, but you could have left the other information there. I have been editing on Wikipedia for over three years so i know how this site works. AmericanTaurusDriver (talk) 01:11, 12 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Talk page etiquette

[edit]

If you need to leave a message for someone, do so by editing their talk page, not their user page like you did with this edit. If you do so on their talk page, they'll get a new message notice, but they won't if you edit their user page. Additionally, editing a user's page, while allowed, is generally frowned upon. On last thing, sign your posts by typing ~~~~ (four tildes) after your post. That will insert your name, a link to your user page and the date and time of your post. What happened to "IF IT HELPS I WILL NO LONGER BE EDITING THIS AFTER JUNE 12TH 2010."? 69.181.249.92 (talk) 17:05, 21 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey this is my user page and i will do what i want with it. I already expressed im using it for editing practice so leave it alone. Thank you. AmericanTaurusDriver (talk) 17:09, 21 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Continued speculative editing

[edit]

Nowhere in that article is it stated that the loss of the Northstar will result in the Lucerne losing its V8 option; they could very well use the GM small-block. Please stop treating your personal speculation as fact.

By the way, if you're going to undo someone's removal of unsourced material and then add a source to it, you might not want to use the standard "undo" edit summary. As it was it looked like you'd just reverted it without attempting to address the issue at all. --Sable232 (talk) 23:03, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I said it MAY lose its V8 option. I make so many contributions to automobile articles on this website and one mistake and you remove it and send strongly worded messages instead of cleaning it up. You could have kept what i put but then said GM's small block could replace it but no official announcement has been made. I mean come on, on the Cadillac STS it states that the STS loses its V8 option and we have no idea if it will be replaced or not. Take this piece of advice. You need to treat users better and be more reasonable. AmericanTaurusDriver (talk) 00:48, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I am trying to be reasonable but you have shown a constant disregard for core Wikipedia policies. No, I can't add to the article "it might get GM's small-block" because that is my speculation, not a fact attributed to a reliable source.
I'll try to make this as clear as possible. Wikipedia is not a publisher of original thought. I suggest you read over Wikipedia:No original research and understand it. --Sable232 (talk) 01:20, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have read over it. But we know that the Northstar engine is ending production in July. So it only makes sense that it would lose its V8 replacement or not. So we should inform people looking for information on the Lucerne that the V8 may not be offered after 2011 model year. I know how this site works. I have been editing here since 2007. And i have done much work expanding articles during the last month under my new username. AmericanTaurusDriver (talk) 01:26, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Honda Civic (ninth generation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement of http://garage.redlinemotive.com/story/9th-generation-honda-civic-to-be-lighter-smaller-and-cheaper/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. As a recently involved editor on the Template:Lexus if you'd like please add your opinion about the recent edits. See discussion Template_talk:Lexus#Years. Thanks Afghanihomi (talk) 16:42, 28 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from VWBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of GMC Jimmy (S-15), and it appears to include material copied directly from http://wikicars.org/en/Chevrolet_S10_Blazer.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) December 2010

[edit]

I've placed {{db-author}} on GMC Jimmy (S-15) per your request on its talk page to have it deleted.

Also, is Special:Contributions/BetsyBlazer (whose only edits have been to your user page) an alternate account, someone you know, or a troll trying to harass you? --Sable232 (talk) 03:28, 24 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Its an alternate one. Its named after my Blazer. AmericanTaurusDriver (talk) 03:52, 24 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
In that case, you should note that on both user pages as outlined here. --Sable232 (talk) 05:53, 24 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'll make note to do that. Thanks. AmericanTaurusDriver (talk) 05:57, 24 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Notice on your user page

[edit]

Hi,

I added a brief notice to your user page making clearer that it was not a real article.

To be honest, this is verging on fake article territory (even if it wasn't meant to mislead) and isn't what user pages are for. Wikipedia is generally quite lenient about personal content on user pages by legitimate contributors, but to claim that this massive pseudo-article is "practice" at editing is stretching things, especially as you don't appear to have edited anything actual articles in the past couple of years!

I'm not going to push for this to be deleted at the present time, as the previous nomination for deletion was withdrawn (rather than rejected), but please leave the notice in place so it's not mistaken for an article (nor indexed by Google).

I notice that you also edited User:Musiqfreak, and looking at the fictitious content there, I assume that is another account of yours?

I've nothing against users having more than one account (it's perfectly reasonable as long as it's not misused for sockpuppet purposes). However, that account has *only* been used for out-of-scope purposes, i.e. it hasn't been used to contribute to Wikipedia itself at all. Despite your comments about these pages being a "hobby" and "expressing your opinion", and despite its tolerance for personal content on users' pages, Wikipedia does *not* exist to provide personal webspace, so perhaps it would be better to host that page elsewhere.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
