Hello, Amberrock. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

- A discussion to workshop proposals to amend the administrator inactivity policy at Wikipedia talk:Administrators has been in process since late December 2016.
- Wikipedia:Pending changes/Request for Comment 2016 closed with no consensus for implementing Pending changes level 2 with new criteria for use.
- Following an RfC, an activity requirement is now in place for bots and bot operators.
- When performing some administrative actions the reason field briefly gave suggestions as text was typed. This change has since been reverted so that issues with the implementation can be addressed. (T34950)
- Following the latest RfC concluding that Pending Changes 2 should not be used on the English Wikipedia, an RfC closed with consensus to remove the options for using it from the page protection interface, a change which has now been made. (T156448)
- The Foundation has announced a new community health initiative to combat harassment. This should bring numerous improvements to tools for admins and CheckUsers in 2017.
- The Arbitration Committee released a response to the Wikimedia Foundation's statement on paid editing and outing.
- JohnCD (John Cameron Deas) passed away on 30 December 2016. John began editing Wikipedia seriously during 2007 and became an administrator in November 2009.

- I've looked into it. Now, I will have to disagree with you that SubRE is vandalizing articles you started. He's not: he is nominating them for deletion, which is something entirely else. His concerns seem to be centered around the theme of non-notability. Which is - in most of the cases - not unwarranted. You have responded with comments that do not always contain arguments to keep certain articles, but borderline on ad hominems (here, for example). Therefore: I'm very sorry, but I'm not inclined to interfere with SubRE's behaviour. What he's doing doesn't seem outrageous to me, so I have to apply good faith and say there's not something 'fishy' going on.
- One thing he's contented and you haven't elaborated on, is that he said that you are a member of Phase (band). Is that true? —♦♦ AMBER(ЯʘCK) 12:28, 14 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

- I'm aware of what ignorant means, and it's generally not a kind term to just toss at somebody because they want an article deleted you would like to keep. Differences of opinion happen, and that doesn't mean the other side is ignorant. But my warning wasn't just for that term: you also said an editor made it "personal" when he was simply citing Wikipedia policy. You told hem "You don't know anything about music" and you strongly implied that said person was not an expert. You are right on the fact that I was a bit harsh, but he would ignore the messages on his talk page and he would have tunnel vision on his thing... It seems that he only hanged around there only to remove that article not even knowing how to use the tags, that simply demonstrated bad faith to me... He would only reply to other editors comments and he would ignore me. And make accusations based on nothing, that I am member and promoter of the band, or whatever. It all started when I would remove one of his tags reasoning it and leaving him a message and then we would play the add remove game in loop, That's not respectful behaviour either... Anyway I do apologise, and thank you for taking the time to moderate the conversation! I deeply appreciate it. By the way, I didn't imply you don't know what it means, I meant semantics differ from country to country and region to region... Hi Amberrock,
"In the 2009 election the party won 15 seats, its most to date, making it the third largest party in the antepenultimate Knesset". The way I understand this, the antepenultimate Knesset is the 19th Knesset that was formed after the legislative elections of January 2013. At a second (more diligent) reading, I realized that the antepenultimate phrasing is correct (but, in my opinion, it is a tad confusing as well). ArbCom would like to apologise and correct our previous mass message in light of the response from the community.
Since November 2018, six administrator accounts have been compromised and temporarily desysopped. In an effort to help improve account security, our intention was to remind administrators of existing policies on account security — that they are required to "have strong passwords and follow appropriate personal security practices." We have updated our procedures to ensure that we enforce these policies more strictly in the future. The policies themselves have not changed. In particular, two-factor authentication remains an optional means of adding extra security to your account. The choice not to enable 2FA will not be considered when deciding to restore sysop privileges to administrator accounts that were compromised.
We are sorry for the wording of our previous message, which did not accurately convey this, and deeply regret the tone in which it was delivered.
