While I agree that ledes shouldn't duplicate large stretches of "plot", they are supposed to contain something like a very basic "plot synopsis" for the series (WP:TVLEAD calls this "setting"). As Austin & Ally is currently missing this, something should be added to the lede along the lines of a very brief and basic synopsis. --IJBall (contribstalk) 16:11, 3 January 2019 (UTC)

Just so you know, if you didn't already (I can't remember if you still have this one waitlisted or not...), but the WP:RM I opened passed, so the Beyond article is now at Beyond (U.S. TV series). --IJBall (contribstalk) 20:40, 4 January 2019 (UTC)

@IJBall: Yup, saw it. You "win"! Amaury (talk | contribs) 20:42, 4 January 2019 (UTC)

Not sure why you’re so adament on removing all corrections about Meg’s birthday... Her birthday is a well known fact, and she’s confirmed it several times. Why are you so critical of using Twitter as a source? Joesimnett (talk) 18:08, 6 January 2019 (UTC)

Looks like valid info and meets WP:ABOUTSELF. Verified account, not self-serving. Gave exact age at an exact date. Geraldo Perez (talk) 20:39, 6 January 2019 (UTC)
@Geraldo Perez: Sorry, I missed that. With the long-term disruption we had going on for months regarding the addition of unsourced DOB info, my mind was just focused on that, and I completely oversaw that a source was even added which therefore would have led me to check if it was reliable, which, in this case, it is since it is from a verified Twitter account. Amaury (talk | contribs) 20:43, 6 January 2019 (UTC)
Well, the edit was in the wrong date and author format, did not use {{Cite tweet}}, and didn't follow MOS:REFPUNCT, so I'm not surprised that you missed the details. FWIW. --IJBall (contribstalk) 20:45, 6 January 2019 (UTC)
No need to be nasty and condescending, IJBall. Still a Wikipedia newbie. You should focus on making Wikipedia a friendly environment, being such an editing veteran. Joesimnett (talk) 01:00, 7 January 2019 (UTC)

Reliable sources

Hi Amaury, Geraldo Perez, & IJBall,

I noticed that occasionally I would see some reliable sources (citations) that became archived. Why are some reliable source became archives? What is the point of some reliable sources becoming archives? — YoungForever(talk) 01:32, 7 January 2019 (UTC)

@YoungForever: Archives are used in the cases where the live site is dead. For example, some early, early links of TV by the Numbers. Sometimes, there are some sites that are live, but have content that disappears after a while—for example, Showbuzz Daily comments from Mitch Salem containing ratings for whatever series. Outside of those two things, we don't need to use archive URLs. Amaury (talk | contribs) 01:37, 7 January 2019 (UTC)
Well, eventually, it's likely that all URL links will eventually become "dead". Even for websites that don't become moribund, they may go through one or more "reorganizations" over time, and the URLs will change. (For example, that has happened with both Variety and Entertainment Weekly links since c.2000...) Now, if the website remains, and is just "reorganized", then new URL links to replace the old "dead" URL links can often be found. But not always – sometimes, along with a reorganization, older content is also permanently "removed" – for example, this appeared to have happened with one old c.2000 link from, I think, the New York Post that I was looking for recently... Anyway, long story short, including "archives" (assuming one exists) of pretty much any link in a ref is probably a good idea (even if I myself don't do this often!...) --IJBall (contribstalk) 04:36, 7 January 2019 (UTC)
Ok, thanks, both you and IJBall. — YoungForever(talk) 07:37, 7 January 2019 (UTC)

I've just given them a Level 3 warning for WP:DE at Big City Greens, as this has been persistent. If they do that again, I think it may be time to report them – certainly if they do it after a Level 4 warning. --IJBall (contribstalk) 02:02, 8 January 2019 (UTC)

@IJBall: Final warning issued. Amaury (talk | contribs) 03:04, 14 January 2019 (UTC)

I understand why you reverted my edit (because I looked at the page and realized it's no longer called "the Disney Channel," like it was when I was growing up), but I would have appreciated a more comprehensive answer than just "no." I didn't know what I did wrong, and neither would any other Wikipedian you corrected, if you gave the same two-letter explanation. Just a future recommendation. Packer1028 (talk) 04:03, 8 January 2019 (UTC)

Hello, I just saw you reverted my information from Crashletes because, "Unverified Twitter cannot be used as a source." Stevie Nelson's Instagram account is verified, with a link to her website listed in the bio. Towards the bottom of the website is a link to her Twitter, which does in fact direct you to this page. Would that make it verifiable, or no? Magitroopa (talk) 22:34, 12 January 2019 (UTC)

Even if verified, she cannot be used. Network controls the scheduling, not her. Amaury (talk | contribs) 22:37, 12 January 2019 (UTC)
I do understand that, but can't that at least still be mentioned? Whether or not she controls the scheduling, I think it should probably still be mentioned/noted that someone who is part of the show (in this case, a host on the show) is saying it will be airing in February. Then, the article can be updated once Futon Critic, Zap2it, etc. update, making it say then that it will be coming back in February. Magitroopa (talk) 04:47, 13 January 2019 (UTC)

I'd like your thoughts on this, especially in regards to whether the colors should be changed, and if so what they should be changed to (I'm thinking two shades of yellow for "season 6"...). --IJBall (contribstalk) 04:16, 13 January 2019 (UTC)

I was already replying when you posted this, but I'll add on to it for the colors part. Amaury (talk | contribs) 04:20, 13 January 2019 (UTC)
I've just replied to your post – I did mess up the numbering in the episodes table. But... --IJBall (contribstalk) 04:27, 13 January 2019 (UTC)

Don't forget to think about the color scheme, and drop a line at the article's Talk page after you've thought it over! (On my end, I'm wondering if we should change the entire color scheme to better match the colors used in the series logo shown at iCarly...) --IJBall (contribstalk) 16:37, 13 January 2019 (UTC)

@IJBall: Like I said, I plan on doing a major cleanup of these at some point, to perhaps even avoid needing individual season articles by significantly reducing byte size, since an earlier comment of yours from a Henry Danger discussion said just because a series is 5+ seasons does not merit season articles. However, I can create a basic outline that you can mess with yourself as well. PS: You may wish to respond with your views above. PS #2: Because I like being "mean," on the Saved by the Bell discussion, you wrote: we should not include either Good Morning, Miss Bliss or SbtB: The College Years. "Either" is only for two things. Silly. Amaury (talk | contribs) 16:44, 13 January 2019 (UTC)
FTR, I would leave the iCarly "season" articles in place – there does seem to be enough content to justify standalone articles (i.e. aside from just the episodes tables), and those articles have been around a long time as well, so there would have to be a really good reason to merge them back to the LoE page and I don't think we have that here... Oh, and I did use "either" correctly – "Good Morning, Miss Bliss" is one of the "two things"! --IJBall (contribstalk) 16:47, 13 January 2019 (UTC)
@IJBall:  Done: User:Amaury/sandbox/List of iCarly episodes. Amaury (talk | contribs) 17:06, 13 January 2019 (UTC)
I think we want a color other than black for season #6 – if you look closely, the show's logo includes a dark blue, so I may try that. Also, the season #3 color should be probably closer to "aqua" (#00FFFF). I'll try to play with that later today... --IJBall (contribstalk) 17:38, 13 January 2019 (UTC)

OK, I've made some revisions to your iCarly sandbox page, mostly to make the colors WP:COLOR/WP:ACCESS compliant. I've also added the "current" version at the bottom, because I intend to carry out the merge today, and I don't expect you to get to your iCarly cleanup project that quickly!! --IJBall (contribstalk) 18:35, 14 January 2019 (UTC)

@IJBall: Just an FYI, outside of the changing colors in general because black didn't work for season 6, all the colors were compliant. They pass all the tests the WGA site and are being used at various of the Nickelodeon and Disney Channel series articles. Amaury (talk | contribs) 20:04, 14 January 2019 (UTC)
I use this – at that page, you're looking for a "Color contrast" ratio of 9.00 or greater when you plug in the text (foreground) color (either black or white) vs. the "background" color: if the ratio is >9, then you're apparently "AAA" WP:ACCESS compliant. Or, so I've been told... --IJBall (contribstalk) 20:07, 14 January 2019 (UTC)
That's the same site I use. As long as the color passes all of the WCAG, then it's good. Not sure about the color compliant part, but it saying yes is what we'd want, anyway. Ratio doesn't matter as otherwise Alex's script would be changing the colors. Articles that fail to be color compliant are put under some color category. Amaury (talk | contribs) 20:24, 14 January 2019 (UTC)
Actually, Alex goes through them separately (I'd ping him here, but...), and makes sure they're "AAA" compliant – "AAA" is the most compliant version. As I understand it, you're "technically passing" WP:COLOR/WP:ACCESS if you're less than "AAA" compliant, but meeting the "AAA" criteria is "preferred". --IJBall (contribstalk) 20:32, 14 January 2019 (UTC)

Question: Did you get my ping from Talk:List of iCarly episodes from yesterday?... I'm wondering if anyone got my pings, as no one said anything... TIA. --IJBall (contribstalk) 15:54, 15 January 2019 (UTC)

@IJBall: Yes. Ping worked for me. Amaury (talk | contribs) 17:14, 15 January 2019 (UTC)

I can’t understand why you reverted my short description on The Lodge. When you search on mobile devices, it comes up as “british musical teen drama” - no capitalisation, nor mention of it bring a television series. Feel free to correct it if you want, but I did what was necessary in correcting messiness. Joesimnett (talk) 19:58, 13 January 2019 (UTC)

It is unnecessary. No other television series article does this. Amaury (talk | contribs) 21:02, 13 January 2019 (UTC)

Just found out about this. This answers the question I had as to whether Game Shakers was going to be it for her career... --IJBall (contribstalk) 20:48, 17 January 2019 (UTC)

@IJBall: Doesn't mean they had to cancel Game Shakers, did it? Could they have continued on without her like they were able to continue Bizaardvark without Jake Paul? Or is Cree Cicchino akin to, say, Olivia Rodrigo, where if she had left, Bizaardvark wouldn't have been able to continue? Amaury (talk | contribs) 23:37, 19 January 2019 (UTC)
I'm quite sure she got this gig after filming for Game Shakers had wrapped. So one had nothing to do with the other... I was just wondering if Cicchino was going to get work, post-Game Shakers, and this answers in the affirmative. --IJBall (contribstalk) 02:21, 20 January 2019 (UTC)
Yes, but I wonder if Game Shakers was canceled because of that or just canceled. Amaury (talk | contribs) 02:29, 20 January 2019 (UTC)

Now that he's apparently finally been credited in an episode, I think it's time to add "Horse Face Guy" to the 'Recurring' cast section of Bizaardvark. Now, here's how I would do it – I would not add him to the bulleted list! Instead, I'd put a sentence about him to the bottom of the section (i.e. unbulleted) – something, like, Ross Kobelak has also appeared as Horse Face Guy, a fellow Vuugle star who wears a horse face mask and never talks, since the beginning of the series.. Yes, I know – he's only been credited once – but there's no denying that he's been a long-running recurring character that has significantly impacted events on the series over the course of its run. So I think this another one of those WP:IAR exceptions like Timmy on Bunk'd... What do you think? --IJBall (contribstalk) 00:04, 21 January 2019 (UTC)

Fine with me. Amaury (talk | contribs) 00:28, 21 January 2019 (UTC)

Belissa has not been in a season #3 episode yet, correct?... --IJBall (contribstalk) 21:35, 23 January 2019 (UTC)

@IJBall: You've got eyes, don't you? Use them. No, she hasn't yet. (PS: You forgot "–present" for Willow.) Amaury (talk | contribs) 22:39, 23 January 2019 (UTC)
Nope – people do that all the time, but it's a "redundant (date) range". IOW, it's season #3 now, so "season 3–present" is nonsensical. It would only become "season 3–present" if there was a season #4, and that actor/character appeared in season #4 as well. --IJBall (contribstalk) 22:41, 23 January 2019 (UTC)
I realized that afterward. I'm silly. Amaury (talk | contribs) 22:43, 23 January 2019 (UTC)

She is a recurring star in Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn, playing the character of "Natlee", and I've now seen a couple of instances in the cast section a change in which seasons she appears. The listing shows seasons 3 and 4, but a couple of IPs have changed this to include season 2 ([1][2]). I reverted both times on the grounds that she's not listed as a guest star prior to season 3. I was curious whether she was on the show prior to season 3, and decided to check IMDb, which indicates six episodes during season 2. But from what I see in the LoE article, she probably had a billing no greater than co-star. If she was indeed in any of those season 2 episodes (IMDb aside), should that season be included in the cast section, as IPs have been adding? MPFitz1968 (talk) 17:08, 24 January 2019 (UTC)

@MPFitz1968: I think we do count those appearances, we just don't list until they start receiving guest star credits. That's what IJBall did with Clark on School of Rock. He appeared in the first season, but did not start receiving a guest star credit until the second season. Amaury (talk | contribs) 18:30, 24 January 2019 (UTC)
I'd probably list her as "seasons 2–4", for the reasons outlined by Amaury. If she had only ever appeared as a "co-star" in season #2, we wouldn't list her at all. But she started as a "co-star" and then was promoted to "guest star" (starting with season #3), and I don't think it makes any sense to "ignore" the fact that she actually started "recurring" (even as a "minor character") in season #2. --IJBall (contribstalk) 18:59, 24 January 2019 (UTC)

Season 2 only had 22 episodes I don’t see why that part has to be blank when no new episodes have currently airier after November 30, 2018 and currently their filming season 3. Tnays20 (talk) 19:06, 29 January 2019 (UTC)

I’ve added the episode count of ravens home season 2 and the last air date since there are no current episodes being aired as of 2019. The last episode of season 2 Keepin it real was aired on November 30, 2018 maybe you’re not watching the show. Tnays20 (talk) 19:12, 29 January 2019 (UTC)

I don’t see the edit note and on the last edit I had included a reference. Tnays20 (talk) 19:16, 29 January 2019 (UTC)

What is Twinkle. Tnays20 (talk) 20:01, 29 January 2019 (UTC)

I made a response on the talk page with a good idea while keeping all the cast members’ names listed, but don’t ever curse at me like that again or I’ll report you to an administrator. ATC . Talk 22:00, 31 January 2019 (UTC)

You have been a long-term disruptive editor. You have no consensus for your changes, and yet you somehow think that waiting for months and then coming back and trying to make those changes again somehow magically makes consensus appear. If you can't stand the heat, then get out of the kitchen. I have no interest in discussing anything with you. Amaury (talk | contribs) 22:35, 31 January 2019 (UTC)

Please keep an eye on this article, if you aren't already... Thanks. --IJBall (contribstalk) 20:55, 30 January 2019 (UTC)

@IJBall:  Done. Related: Cooper Barnes d. I reverted on Henry Danger as I thought it was vandalism. Amaury (talk | contribs) 21:27, 30 January 2019 (UTC)

Hi, please do not revert my good edits that are not vandalism to the article called "Fast Layne". I put both categories Category:Television series prouced in British Columbia" and "Category:Maple Ridge, British Columbia". I want to solve my good edits and as long it was not vandalism. Please do not give me a warning. I am making good edits but you revert my edits quickly. Please help me. 2001:569:7C07:2600:D93E:AA13:38C5:8937 (talk) 02:30, 31 January 2019 (UTC)

None of that is mentioned in the sources, and even if it were, those categories are not appropriate as they are WP:NOTDEFINING. Where a series is filmed is trivial. Amaury (talk | contribs) 02:32, 31 January 2019 (UTC)
Also it was sourced from a Maple Ridge newspaper website called "The Maple Ridge News" under "Production". I put categories "Category:Television series produced in British Columbia" and "Category:Maple Ridge, British Columbia". Do not follow the Fast Layne article for reverting. I think User:Bearcat wants to talk to you to challenge my edit. 2001:569:7C07:2600:D93E:AA13:38C5:8937 (talk) 02:50, 31 January 2019 (UTC)
