Can an admin add "babcock" to the name section to prevent false positives? Thanks. Avicennasis @ 02:31, 1 Sivan 5771 / 3 June 2011 (UTC)

Please add "parachute" to the list - otherwise the bot will take it as the "Hindi for fuck". jfd34 (talk) 04:01, 22 November 2012 (UTC)
Is this thing on?
[edit]"Pizza" is in the whitelist, but the bot still reports it as a variation of "piss". Can somebody fix this please? And do we even need the bot to report "pizz" usernames? I would bet that the number of blockable usernames that it manages to snare is probably miniscule. --Bongwarrior (talk) 00:49, 22 March 2013 (UTC)
- Yeah I still cant figure out why that's happening. I was about to add it but I realized it's already there. —Soap— 19:15, 20 October 2014 (UTC)
- @Soap and Bongwarrior: I have found a critical flaw in the logic of the program and how it was written. When it hits something on the similar test, it doesn't whitelist check the new result. I'll be working on a patch and hopefully have it live for tomorrow night. -- DQ (ʞlɐʇ) 23:35, 20 October 2014 (UTC)
- OK thank you. I assume it's working now as I haven't seen any pizza~-related names on the list lately, despite at least one such name (Pizza-galaxy (talk · contribs)) having been created today. —Soap— 18:48, 26 October 2014 (UTC)
- We could still perhapos consider removing the similarity check even so, though. Fudgepop1521 (talk · contribs) was reported today. —Soap— 00:31, 27 October 2014 (UTC)

Cox
[edit]Although I see how this could be used as an offensive plural, it is too common a name or a part of a name. Putting "Wilcox" is a good idea. Whitelisting the whole thing seems questionable. Alexschmidt711 (talk) 01:26, 3 March 2014 (UTC) appears Wilcox has already been done. Alexschmidt711 (talk) 12:17, 5 March 2014 (UTC)
Pernic
[edit]Could someone whitelist this string, it has been flagged as penis. Alexschmidt711 (talk) 18:12, 3 September 2014 (UTC)
An issue?
[edit]@Zzuuzz: Is there an issue going on? -- Amanda (aka DQ) 22:02, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
- Hi DQ. I'm not sure I'd call it an issue as such, but OutreachDashboardBot (an actual bot) was being repeatedly reported,[1] and then removed,[2] by the bot at UAA/BOT. I've whitelisted it now, which I hope will work, but it seems this behaviour might not be in the bot's design. -- zzuuzz (talk) 22:18, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
- @Zzuuzz: Holy shit, 36 times in 500 edits. Ok, I need to look into something, but if the whitelist works for now, I'll wait to go digging. I've also flagged it as a bug. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 04:27, 7 March 2019 (UTC)
- Wait, is this bot creating accounts? If so, that explains every bit of it. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 04:29, 7 March 2019 (UTC)
- Yes. So if it's some ancient bug related to account creators then that's relatively fine for the time being. The whitelist seems to have worked, and it's probably a super rare set of circumstances. And I got to learn that regex doesn't work in this list. -- zzuuzz (talk) 04:51, 7 March 2019 (UTC)
- Ya I don't think I've setup regex for this page, but i'll see if that's something I can do. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 05:26, 7 March 2019 (UTC)

- To note, that bot is supposed to create accounts, they are human approved using the Program and Events Dashboard and specifically will make larger numbers of accounts in bursts. However, if inappropriately named accounts are getting created, they may still warrant looking in to. — xaosflux Talk 13:47, 8 March 2019 (UTC)

Please add "Distinct" and "Empty". They recently triggered two FPs which can be found here and here. [Username Needed] 12:43, 8 March 2019 (UTC)
- Not done (via immediate edit request process) - can be handled via the normal request and review process for this page. — xaosflux Talk 14:02, 9 March 2019 (UTC)
- @Xaosflux: What exactly is that "review process"? Just curious. {{3x|p}}ery (talk) 16:20, 9 March 2019 (UTC)
- Well you are requesting it here . but ultimately this is @DeltaQuad:'s personal userspace, so it is up to her how she wants to process it, or let others process it; but it doesn't need to stand out in the admin-queue. — xaosflux Talk 16:52, 9 March 2019 (UTC)
- @Xaosflux: Should be handled similarly to the blacklist instructions. I try and avoid involvement in these pages as it's really a community bot. So the edit request is appropriate. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 17:05, 9 March 2019 (UTC)

False positive DQB username flag

While, of course, an admin will just ignore it in this case, thought I'd point this out. The flagged username is LStafford. I don't know if the list can be made to throw a low confidence on Stafford (or the variant -shire). The tripping bit as the bot stated was: "(admin|coordinator|bureaucrat|checkuser|developer|moderator|oversight|steward|sysop|committee|staff)" Jerod Lycett (talk) 01:31, 18 July 2020 (UTC)

The word "Cicero" should be added to the whitelist since it's a legitimate word and if anyone uses the word "Cicero" in their username, they will get flagged by WP:UAA/BOT for trying to bypass "kike", a derogatory ethnic slur for Jews. AKK700 12:25, 12 January 2023 (UTC)

"copernic", "pumpernic", and "gizmo" should be added to the list. If usernames contain the string, they will be flagged for trying to bypass "penis" and "gism" (semen). + "ensminger" contains the substring "minge". AKK700 03:21, 31 January 2023 (UTC)
Add Instinct

[edit]Add "Captain Underpants" and "CaptainUnderpants" to the whitelist; they currently trigger under "derp". Mseingth2133444 (talk/contribs) 17:21, 14 March 2024 (UTC)
