CS1 error on Akiva (Singer)

[edit]

Hello, I'm Qwerfjkl (bot). I have automatically detected that this edit performed by you, on the page Akiva (Singer), may have introduced referencing errors. They are as follows:

  • A bare URL error. References show this error when one of the URL-containing parameters cannot be paired with an associated title. Please edit the article to add the appropriate title parameter to the reference. (Fix | Ask for help)

Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, Qwerfjkl (bot) (talk) 15:42, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Avoid unedited machine translations

[edit]

Hi, @Alon9393! Thanks for creating the article Akiva (singer), and improving my Draft:Akiva Turgeman. However, it looks like it was mostly unedited machine translation from its version on Hebrew Wikipedia.

This should generally not be done, per Help:Translation#Avoid unedited machine translations, as machine translation is usually inaccurate, especially in articles dealing with a lot of names, such as the one you edited. Especially if you do not know the language it is being translated to (I'm assuming you're not a native Igbo speaker), when you could end up with a lot of mistakes.

Abdul Hannan (singer) moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Abdul Hannan (singer). Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. — Saqib (talk I contribs) 11:28, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Alon9393. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Draft:Abdul Hannan (singer), gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being employed (or being compensated in any way) by a person, group, company or organization to promote their interests. Paid advocacy on Wikipedia must be disclosed even if you have not specifically been asked to edit Wikipedia. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Alon9393. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Alon9393|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. — Saqib (talk I contribs) 11:11, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It appears that you have been canvassing—leaving messages on a biased choice of users' talk pages to notify them of an ongoing community decision, debate, or vote. While friendly notices are allowed, they should be limited and nonpartisan in distribution and should reflect a neutral point of view. Please do not post notices which are indiscriminately cross-posted, which espouse a certain point of view or side of a debate, or which are selectively sent only to those who are believed to hold the same opinion as you. Remember to respect Wikipedia's principle of consensus-building by allowing decisions to reflect the prevailing opinion among the community at large. Thank you. –Davey2010Talk 21:34, 6 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It appears that they are still doing it, such as here. Ref (chew)(do) 21:13, 9 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

As previously advised, your edits, such as the edit you made to Draft:Abdul Hannan (Pakistani singer), give the impression you have a financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. You were asked to cease editing until you responded by either stating that you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits, or by complying with the mandatory requirements under the Wikimedia Terms of Use that you disclose your employer, client and affiliation. Again, you can post such a disclosure on your user page at User:Alon9393, and the template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Alon9393|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. Please respond before making any other edits to Wikipedia. — Saqib (talk I contribs) 07:21, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The result of @Liz, User:Davey2010, User:Saqib was to Keep, I think you yourself want that article not to exist, the article has independent sources such as The Times of India , The Rolling Stones, Red Bull among others, the musical artist was the most listened to on Spotify in 2023 and will surely be the most listened to in 2024 in India and Pakistan You must specify what else you want in that item. Alon9393 (talk) 07:30, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Could you please submit it for review? I don’t believe the article meets the WP:NSINGER yet.Saqib (talk I contribs) 07:31, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry to be rude but which part of "Not sure why you've canvassed me here but I have no interest in this article or the person so as such have no opinion on this nomination, Thanks" did you not understand ?,
I have no interest in Abdul Hannan or any of your AFDs or the subjects you're nominating so please stop pinging me, Thanks. –Davey2010Talk 11:08, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop attacking other editors, as you did on User talk:Dclemens1971. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. Drmies (talk) 22:36, 14 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Drmies, User talk:Dclemens1971 Ok, but they are saying that I am a paid user which is totally false, they said it in Abdul Hannan (singer), that in some way is an attack on me, why do they continue to undermine my integrity my intention here is to help. Alon9393 (talk) 22:42, 14 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No, they are not; the template says "gives the impression". I also don't see where you addressed the matter. Finally, the tag on the article was placed there by another editor. Drmies (talk) 22:46, 14 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Drmies But that editor said in the AFD that I "am a paid contributor, which is false", look, these are a type of Ad hominem fallacies that are used to attack the person and not address the situation of the article, they are tricks to ruin my integrity. I will not continue. Alon9393 (talk) 22:50, 14 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Next time point in the right place then, please. You pointed at the article, which had a tag. In the AfD they utter a suspicion, which isn't totally unreasonable. You said "I am not a paying user", which I assume Saqib will understand as you saying you weren't paid to write it, and that's really the end of it, I hope. Thank you, Drmies (talk) 22:55, 14 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Drmies I make edits voluntarily, thank you for your advice and I left it explained in the 2 AFD of that singer. Thank Alon9393 (talk) 23:29, 14 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

AFDs

[edit]

Hello, Alon9393,

You're still a new editor on this project. I'd like you to slow down the rapid pace of your participation in AFD deletion discussions. Sometimes, you are commening in one AFD per minute which is not enough time to thoughtfully assess an article, using Wikipedia's notability standards, and evaluate sources.

I'd like you to participate in fewer discussions but, please, go deeper. Don't just review the nomination statement and glance at the article, do a deep dive and make a careful contribution to the deletion discussion. Also comments like "not encyclopedic" are not policy-based and really tell us nothing about the notability of the subject. Right now, I'm disregarding some of your comments because it appears that no time or effort were put into your assessments. Being a thoughtful participation in deletion discussions takes a thorough knowledge of policy and an understanding of a variety of different standards for notability on Wikipedia as well as a good understanding of how to correctly assess sources. Please only participate if you can spend appropriate level of effort to carefully assess an article and whether it is suitable for a standalone article on this project.

If you have questions about this, please bring them to the Teahouse where experienced editors can provide you with advice and a second opinion. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 05:29, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Liz Hello, thanks for the guidance, I will try to slow down and follow the instructions. I wanted to ask you the following question, this article Abdul Hannan (singer) can be maintained, and if an agreement is not reached as it happens, which would be done at the entrance, I see it well and with notoriety as desired. Alon9393 (talk) 05:44, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I hope you're not WP:BE. Just a heads-up. Instead of moving drafts straight into the main namespace, it’s better to submit them for review first.Saqib (talk I contribs) 07:25, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Liz sorry for the question, you just close the deletion query that I proposed and as a result of lack of consensus, which the result was to maintain because this user I don't wait for a reasonable amount of time to pass and I delete the article again, I just sent it to the draft, it's as if I didn't want the article with multiple sources and encyclopedic development, I didn't want it to exist Who makes the final decision in this case? Alon9393 (talk) 07:40, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
User:Saqib were not satisfied with the deletion query, well neither was I, but in this case where @Liz analyzed and gave its resolution, it should be respected, her decision was to keep, I do not understand why you are sending it again to the draft, why don't you open a deletion query would be the most logical thing to do, but don't keep saying that the article is promotional and that it doesn't meet the standards of a musical artist, because I don't see anyone else in that position, respect the decision made. Alon9393 (talk) 07:52, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
As long as you keep making new articles on the same topic, I'll keep sending them to drafts NS and imv, putting an article in draft is better than an AFD because it gives you a chance to fix it and get it approved.Saqib (talk I contribs) 09:01, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Abdul Hannan (singer) moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Abdul Hannan (singer). Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability, it is promotional and reads like an advertisement and you may have a possible Conflict of Interest. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

@Saqib Hello Saqib, Why do you think in every article on Pakistan that it should be deleted or moved to the draft even if it meets the Notability requirements? I'm very sorry, but you don't see yourself as a user who loves Pakistan, you oppose everything related to Pakistan, I suggest thinking more about how not to be so anti-Pakistani. greetings. Hello, Alon9393,

Again and again, you use the word "relevance" in your AFD comments and nominations. But I don't know what you mean by that term or how you are judging relevance, that's a subjective opinion and you won't find this word in our notability policies. Try to ground your arguments and nominations not on your personal opinion of an article but based on policies and guidelines on notability and sources. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 05:34, 14 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

To be honest Alon, I'm a bit concerned that this stems from poor English skills. See another question from an editor here, as well as some by myself. Dclemens1971 I have to thank you for listening and for transferring the article to main entry after Saqib has called you out for doing so . I have to thank you and I apologize for my persistence, I am very sure that this article will be eliminated and I respect the community's decision, sorry for my English, I usually don't speak it much. --Alon9393 (talk) 02:00, 15 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Frankly, the problem is not the Hassan article. The problem is that you continue to participate disruptively in AfDs after being warned many times. I hope you'll take a break, watch and learn instead of continuing to disrupt these discussions. Dclemens1971 (talk) 02:03, 15 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Dclemens1971 but I don't think AFD is stopping AFD over 15 year old articles without references, I wish Hannan would also stay longer but that's not a sure thing, it's safer that they delete it in less than 7 days. --Alon9393 (talk) 02:07, 15 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Article had a ref, at the bottom. I don't think "notoriety" means what you think it means. Articles are neuter gender not male. There is a process called WP:BEFORE which you should look at. Basically before nominating an article for lack of sources you should look for them yourself.

I would be grateful if you would withdraw this nomination.

You probably would not have been blocked if you had chosen to work in other areas of the project other than AFDs. I don't think you understood our notability policy as well as you thought you did and it led you into trouble. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Ortega (rapper) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, a group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content, or an organized event that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay.
