A tag has been placed on Sonopresse requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Codf1977 (talk) 06:50, 5 July 2010 (UTC)

The article Sonopresse has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Does not indicate why its company is important or significant.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Codf1977 (talk) 15:15, 5 July 2010 (UTC)

Hi. As you recently commented in the straw poll regarding the ongoing usage and trial of Pending changes, this is to notify you that there is an interim straw poll with regard to keeping the tool switched on or switching it off while improvements are worked on and due for release on November 9, 2010. This new poll is only in regard to this issue and sets no precedent for any future usage. Your input on this issue is greatly appreciated. Off2riorob (talk) 23:26, 20 September 2010 (UTC)

Deorphaning

Hi, not sure if you're aware of this article: List of manga licensed in English - I've found it to be really useful for deorphaning purposes. --Malkinann (talk) 07:05, 27 September 2010 (UTC)

I don't make a habit of deorphaning but I will try to keep this in mind next time. – allennames 16:17, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
I forgot to leave you a {{Talkback}} yesterday. Sorry about that. – allennames 15:11, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
Cheers. :) --Malkinann (talk) 21:21, 28 September 2010 (UTC)

Evangelion 2.0

Hi, I can't get why in this edit you did change the correct wikilinks (like Mari, the Dummy Plug or the N2 mines) to point to redirects... was that intentional? --WikiKiwi (askme) 00:05, 21 November 2010 (UTC)

I was using reflinks at the time and saw no reason to revert the tool's edit. – Allen4names 04:34, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
Got it. Still, it's kind of weird that the tool preferred the redirects to the correct pages wikilinks... I'm going to report this in the talk page of the tool, thanks! --WikiKiwi (askme) 15:21, 21 November 2010 (UTC)

First do you want to contact Bread Ninja (talk · contribs)? Second if you want to join Wikipedia:WikiProject Anime and manga get some practice editing and referencing first. There are sandboxes that can be used. Finally please remember to add four tildes "~~~~" at the end of your posts. Allen4names 06:31, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
Well this is a lil odd...i never had been requested for help before. Well, Allen already said what you need to do.Bread Ninja (talk) 11:15, 12 January 2011 (UTC)

How to insert a scanned image

Hi! I'm new to this, but felt strongly that composers should receive proper credit for their work, so I blundered into an article on Yuki Kajiura and tried to leave a correction to an incorret attribution and forgot to leave my name. I figured out how to leave my name using the tildes, so I have moved the information to the "discussion" page of the article. I was able to link to a reference site; I also scanned the DVD in question and was going to try to append the image, but can't figure out how to do it. Is it permitted? How do you do it? Thanks. Sparrowgast (talk) 00:06, 17 January 2011 (UTC)

What you need to do is add a reference to the DVD. {{Cite DVD-notes}} or {{Cite video}} may be of use to you.Allen4names 01:30, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
Just remove the table row and leave the reference on the talk page. – Allen4names 01:33, 17 January 2011 (UTC)

Reviewer granted

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged revisions, underwent a two-month trial which ended on 15 August 2010. Its continued use is still being discussed by the community, you are free to participate in such discussions. Many articles still have pending changes protection applied, however, and the ability to review pending changes continues to be of use.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under level 1 pending changes and edits made by non-reviewers to level 2 pending changes protected articles (usually high traffic articles). Pending changes was applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't grant you status nor change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.

If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Dabomb87 (talk) 02:14, 13 February 2011 (UTC)

True brilliance

What a Brilliant Idea Barnstar
In grateful appreciation for solving the archived webpages problem and for sheer genius, I hereby award the What a Brilliant Idea! barnstar to Allen4names. Thank you so very much for figuring this out. I sincerely appreciate your brilliance. Thanks. - Hydroxonium (talk) 06:07, 21 February 2011 (UTC)

Thanks very much. - Hydroxonium (H3O+) 06:13, 21 February 2011 (UTC)

And thank you for the barnstar. I will copy it (with some modification) to my user page. You may wish to see how I am eating my own dogfood. – Allen4names 17:47, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
Your brand of dog food is delicious, so I'm eating it from this point forward. In fact. I may go back in history and replace all my previous meals with your dog food. Thank you so much. - Hydroxonium (H3O+) 20:28, 21 February 2011 (UTC)

Template code

I've been studying the parser functions in your template so I can learn this stuff. I rearranged the functions in to code-like lines like this.

<includeonly>
  {{#ifeq: {{{noarchive}}} |yes | |
    {{#if: {{{url | }}} |
      <span class="qweryarchive">Query<span class="
          {{#ifeq: {{{wayback}}} |no |archive-noarchive |archive
          }}">
              [http://web.archive.org/web/*/{{{url}}} Wayback]</span><span class="
          {{#ifeq: {{{wayback}}} |no |waybackmachine-noarchive |waybackmachine
          }}">
              [http://waybackmachine.org/*/{{{url}}} Wayback Beta]</span><span class="
          {{#ifeq: {{{webcite}}} |no |webcitation-noarchive |webcitation
          }}">
              [http://www.webcitation.org/query.php?url={{urlencode:{{{url}}}}} WebCite]</span><span class="
          {{#ifeq: {{{wikiwix}}} |no |wikiwix-noarchive |wikiwix
          }}"> [http://wikiwix.com/cache/?url={{urlencode:{{{url}}}}} Wikiwix]</span>.</small> |
      <span style="color:red;">Missing <tt>url</tt> parameter.</span>
    }}
  }}
</includeonly>

I hope you don't mind me asking a couple quesions.

  1. Should the </small> line towards the bottom be a </span> instead — in order to close the <span class="qweryarchive">Query line towards the top?
  2. Webcitation and Wikiwix both use {{urlencode:{{{url}}}}} while the Internet Archive sites just use {{{url}}}. Is this because the different archive sites handle URLs differently?

Thanks for the help. - Hydroxonium (H3O+) 05:03, 22 February 2011 (UTC)

Thank you for catching that error. I replaced the </small> tag with a </span>. To answer your other question the Wayback Machine and WebCite do handle URLs differently. Also I looked at the Wikiwix script and saw that it modifies the URL so it should treat URLs in the same way as WebCite. Finally, I modified your example because leaving too much white space can cause problems such as broken links and unwanted empty lines. I will check back tomorrow morning to see if you have any more questions. – Allen4names 06:07, 22 February 2011 (UTC)

You are incredible!

The da Vinci Barnstar
For consistently going above and beyond the call of duty in devising technical solutions to fix the issues Wikipedia has, and for busting his ass and giving these solutions to the community faster than anybody else, I hereby award the da Vinci Barnstar to Allen4names. WOW! I can't thank you enough. The entire community owes you a debt of gratitude for all your hard work. Thank you so much. - Hydroxonium (talk) 21:51, 25 February 2011 (UTC)

Great job! Thanks. - Hydroxonium (H3O+) 21:51, 25 February 2011 (UTC)

Thank you for another barnstar. There is a minor mistake where I should have used a boolean instead of a string, but I can fix that later as the script should run without it. – Allen4names 03:28, 26 February 2011 (UTC)

Jakkfromakb48's edits at AKB48

Greetings. I do not think Jakkfromakb48's edits on AKB48 were vandalism, and have added a strike through on the warning on his page. I think he was splitting the content to List of former members of AKB48. Regards! VQuakr (talk) 03:52, 16 March 2011 (UTC)

That may be but you should always leave an edit summary when removing content. – Allen4names 18:30, 16 March 2011 (UTC)
No disagreement there. Happy editing! VQuakr (talk) 00:47, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
Per your PS on Jakkfromakb48's talk page, you may want to update Wikipedia:Strikethrough#Show_deleted_or_inserted_text if the <s></s> tags really are deprecated. VQuakr (talk) 00:52, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
 Done May not have been the best way to do it so feel free to make any edits that you think will be an improvement. – Allen4names 05:04, 17 March 2011 (UTC)

reliable sources

re your comment [1] - which one has a reputation for fact checking and accuracy? and why did you return the other one? Active Banana (bananaphone 04:51, 20 May 2011 (UTC)

Admittedly I did make a mistake. Both the Anime News Network and Newtype USA references can be considered RS. The UpcomingCons.com reference can be taken to the talk page if you think it is not a reliable source. – Allen4names 05:24, 20 May 2011 (UTC)

Just a heads up. I reverted your changes to the above referenced article, but the edit summary posted before I was done writing my rationale for the edit. River View High School is located in Kennewick and operates within the Finley School District. [2] Best regards, Cind.amuse 17:22, 10 June 2011 (UTC)

River View High School is not within Kennewick city limits. I suspect that they use that address because Finley is unincorporated. – Allen4names 05:36, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
I understand the dichotomy of the two, but doubt that you can find verifiable documentation that states that the school is not located in Kennewick, when the physical address is within the Kennewick zip code. Are you familiar with the Tri-Cities? Cind.amuse 08:27, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
Not too hard. Ben Franklin Transit offers service to Finley and Kennewick has maps on it's web site. – Allen4names 17:10, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
