Hi. You might wish to take a look at WP:NOT to see what should go into an article and what shouldn't. There are literally thousands of homecomings across the country. Nothing personal.  :) - Lucky 6.9 07:17, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Looking at your edits (and your apparent interest), might I suggest that you add the information on the main article about the high school? It's far more likely to be seen that way. Hope this helps. - Lucky 6.9 07:18, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

On the above page you created, is it possible that "Governor Balden"" is a typo and you meant to type Thomas Bladen? Gjs238 21:49, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Cumberland book paul 2003.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Cumberland book paul 2003.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. ReyBrujo 02:56, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reporting administrators to WP:AIV

[edit]

Hi. Is there a reason you've reported admins to WP:AIV? As you accused two of them of being the same person, which is a patently false accusation, I'm worried this was a bad faith submission. If you have problems with a user, please try working them out on the talk pages; if you believe an admin is wholly out of line; please take the issue to WP:AN/I (though 90% of users who do so are in the wrong themselves: be forewarned). -Patstuarttalk|edits 22:59, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

They are abusing their admin privilleges... I tried to discuss with them on the talk page and they keep deleting my comments and replacing them with their comments...
I feel strongly that not all of the links they insist are not good external links are infact extremely good external links that are directly related to the article: Cumberland, Maryland.... These people don't know anything about the article they are editing... ...they didn't even look at any of the links...they just deleted them except for county government links.... there are many links that explain the history or various aspects of the city... One section in particular... Local Hertiage... I managed to put that back on the page... but,I don;t know how long it will be before those jackasses come around again and say its not related...— Preceding unsigned comment added by Alleganywiki (talkcontribs)
They have not removed any of your comments from the talk page, save the one where you pasted all the links all over again, which didn't help the talk page. In fact, they seem to be discussing the matter directly with you. Again, if you have a serious problem with their handling of the situation, feel free to take it to WP:AN/I, but I suggest trying to resolve the problem on the talk page first. Cheers. -Patstuarttalk|edits 23:11, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Please do not post the message above on WP:AIV. If you are concerned with an administrator's conduct try WP:RfC. Thank you.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 23:12, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Personal attacks

[edit]

Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on contributors; personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that continued personal attacks may lead to blocks for disruption. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. Metros232 23:10, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I am glad there is someone else trying to get these links back up. I am seriously considering taking the information and putting it on a individual Wiki page and linking it. It would not be up to Metros232's rules. SVRTVDude user_talk:Orangemonster2k1 11:59, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your user page

[edit]

I suggest you remove the external links from your user page. All you are attempting to do is get around the rules about the links in the article which is inappropriate, Metros232 12:54, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No I'm not... I'm using them for researching Cumberland related information... mind your own buisness... besides, This is my personal space to express myself...not an encyclopidia article...

AfD nomination of Braddock Middle School

[edit]

An editor has nominated Braddock Middle School, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Braddock Middle School and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. Jayden54Bot 15:45, 10 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Calvary Christian Academy has been proposed for deletion. An editor felt this information might be based on your own conclusions or research, rather than published ideas. Please review Wikipedia:No original research for the relevant policy. If you can improve the article to address these concerns, please do so, citing sources.

If no one objects to the deletion within five days by removing the "prod" notice, the article may be deleted without further discussion. If you remove the prod notice, the deletion process will stop, but if an editor is still not satisfied that the article meets Wikipedia guidelines, it may be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion for consensus. Sacred Heart Hospital (Cumberland)

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions to the Sacred Heart Hospital (Cumberland) article, but for legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later."

You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here. You can also leave a message on my talk page. ·:· Will Beback ·:· 00:57, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Accounts

[edit]

The general expectation is that users will have just one account and use it for most edits. While there are (a few) legitimate reasons to use alternate accounts, they are easy to abuse and then they become sock puppets. Please stick with one account unless you can present a reason to do otherwise, as you seem to be currently abusing the privilege of using alternate accounts. You're obviously a very active contributor, and if you stuck with one account you'd gain credit for those edits and accrue the ensuing prestige. Please see WP:SOCKS. ·:· Will Beback ·:· 00:51, 18 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Cumberland md alco football 2005.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:National Jet human hair drilled.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:National Jet human hair drilled.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 17:20, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Public Safety Building (Cumberland, Maryland).jpg listed for deletion

[edit]

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Public Safety Building (Cumberland, Maryland).jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Metros (talk) 16:11, 26 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on SurfCAM, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. File source problem with File:Queen city hotel entry.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Queen city hotel entry.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

ATTENTION: This is an automated, BOT-generated message. This bot DID NOT nominate your file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 03:00, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Image source problem with File:Cumberland maryland great allegany map.jpg

[edit]
Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Cumberland maryland great allegany map.jpg.

This image is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such images would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a screenshot of a computer game or movie. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original image must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright.

If you have uploaded other derivative works, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F4 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 01:32, 6 February 2018 (UTC). If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. xplicit 01:32, 6 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Better source request for File:Cumberland md railroad map.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for your upload to Wikipedia:

You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact Web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain, search engine, pinboard, aggregator, or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talk page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 22:24, 27 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Frostburg md arion band logo.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Frostburg md arion band logo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Finnusertop (talkcontribs) 15:12, 6 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
