My talk: response
[edit]I'm just posting this because I wanted to let you know that your message to me was seen and I'll reply to it later tonight. To answer one point though, your article has not been deleted. It is at User:Aliceako/Freedom Centre International (FCI) Welling as it has always been. Don't worry, it's not going anywhere or getting deleted. When I have more time tonight, I'll go over what I feel can be improved on it point by point. Dismas|(talk) 18:06, 26 August 2011 (UTC)
- Okay, here we go...
- The name. The article should be titled what the church is commonly referred to by people. So I'd suggest simply "Freedom Centre International" or "Freedom Centre International Church". Leave the abbreviation for the article. And locations, such as "Welling", are generally only in the title if there are two or more of something. For instance, John Doe (painter), John Doe (politician), and John Doe (actor).
- References. Right now, there is only one reference to a third party reliable source. Basically, when we talk about references, we're talking about people or organizations writing about or reporting on the subject of the article. We're looking for something to fact-check the article against. For example, when in the article it says Freedom Centre International (FCI), formerly South London Temple (SLT), was founded out of UPG Ministries, that should have a reference so that people can check the reference and know where that statement came from.
- Notability. To have an article here, something must be notable. This is an encyclopedia and not a list of every organization/church/charity/etc. Churches, unless I'm mistaken, fall under Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies). If you can provide third party references which provide significant coverage of the subject, then the subject is normally accepted as "notable".
- Listing of when services are. I see that some of this has been removed. It's generally accepted that a church is going to have services on a weekly or even daily basis. These shouldn't be listed unless there is something exceptional or noteworthy about them that sets them apart from another service at any other church. As an example, if you go to the page about Wal-Mart or Tesco, they don't list locations or hours of operation.
- These are the main things that I noticed about the article. In general, the tone could be made to be a bit more encyclopedic or clinical, for lack of a better word. We should remain neutral about the subject of an article and not be seen as too praising of the subject.
- If you have any questions about this, let me know. Thanks, Dismas|(talk) 03:54, 27 August 2011 (UTC)

There is also too much information to take in and my head is woozy. Help that can get it to go live will really be appreciated. It is not a lengthy article please. Not having it easy..

- Hello Aliceako, here is how to find and create proper citations on Wikipedia:
- Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
- Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
- In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
- Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
- Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like
<ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>
, copy the whole thing). - In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
- If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:
==References== {{Reflist}}
Hope this helps. If you have any more questions, you can ask here or on my talk page. Thanks, Samwb123T-C-E 18:07, 30 August 2011 (UTC)

FCI
[edit]Hi Aliceako. In case you want to have a look at any of the items later, I'm posting the issues I saw to this page.
- Right. Straight off the bat, I can see that you don't have any inline citations.
- Meaning it's very difficult to see what is sourced to each reference.
- There's some help at WP:INCITE regarding that.
- Another simple one is the external links in the article don't currently match our policy at WP:ELNO - the affiliations should be either links to wikipedia articles or "red links"
- It's also written slightly unencyclopedically - more promotionally - comments like "It's made headlines" and so on.
- People who've visited it shouldn't be in there, unless they've done something significant towards it.
- I guess that what I'm trying to say is that it doesn't appear to be written from a neutral point of view, which is essential for a wikipedia article.
- You'll need more sources to confirm it's notable. I've had a look around, and whilst there's none for Freedom Centre International, there are a few for South London Temple, so see if you can add them.
- is that enough to be getting on with?
Hope that helps WormTT · (talk) 20:10, 30 August 2011 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, Aliceako. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Shadrach Ofosuware, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.
All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.
If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:
- Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
- Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
- Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
- Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.
Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Shadrach Ofosuware
[edit]Hi Aliceako, per your helpme request here, I will reply here, as it is more appropriate. Your comment that you need to make it citable and notable is correct. The issue is that the sources that you added do not directly addess Shadrach Ofosuware's notability, they just mention him. Articles require significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject. In this case you have the reliable independent sources, they just are not about the subject of the article, they are about events that he attended. If you can find reliable independent sources that are about Shadrach Ofosuware, than you can establish notability, if not, than the article will continue to be declined. Let me know if you have any questions. Cheers, --kelapstick(bainuu) 17:10, 18 May 2013 (UTC)
