Alexandru f. voicu
hello there,
i didn't know i made a mistake by taking some information from a site about someone's life and career track. it's about the article on alexandru f. voicu. I was just thinking that the information available on uva site isn't subject to copyright. But no problem, thanks. ahm i don;t know how to paste a red link, but i will try http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Alexandru_f._voicu&action=edit&redlink=1
- Please read about Copyright violations policy to understand. Also, please remember to start a new section in Talk for every new issue, and to sign your messages by adding four tildes at the end. Thank you. -- Alexf(talk) 10:04, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
Rackman page
Dear Sir,
Re: emanuel rackman
This was the very first page I began and I am upset to see that my work has disappeared, especially about a man who has just passed away.
I had no idea that blockquoting from another page was considered copyright infringement. I will gladly paraphrase the quote so as to avoid any violation.
JC (talk) 02:13, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
- Besides the copyright violation issue, it had shown no assertion of notability and also please understand that even though I'm sorry the gentleman passed away, Wikipedia is not a memorial site. Every article has to prove notability on its own. Being your first page, don't get discouraged. It happened to many of us, until we understood the rules. It might be helpful for you to read Your First Article and understand the Five Pillars of Wikipedia. Good luck. -- Alexf(talk) 10:50, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

- Thank you for blocking the above, this account has vandalised various articles that I have been involved with ever since an article on Andy Matthews, a footballer, was deleted by an AfD I put up. I believe that these users are all one and the same:-User:Roman121212, User:Shayrivetttime, User:Samhy2k, User:77.98.198.149, User:128.240.229.3 as they have all vandalised articles that I have been involved with, used my name or mentioned Andy Matthews.Paste Talk 16:44, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

- I'll take a look but it is faster to report to AIV if warned properly or to ANI if harassed. Reporting to individual admins runs the risk of the admin not being online (as I wasn't). -- Alexf(talk) 18:29, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

Way to go!
Stop deleting peoples perfectly good pages you god damn ass clown. When you move out of your moms basement you will find that you're of no use to society, and deleting pages on wikipedia is something that only people who have no friends and were born from butt sex do. So good for you, you killed my page, which was legit by your standards, so not only are you a waste of life, but also retarded. When I find your moms house, im sauntering down to the basement,I will take my balls out of my pants, and slowly dip them into your mouth, and they'll be the first non-doritos you have ever had. Than your mom gets my balls. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.124.111.214 (talk) 21:54, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
- Lovely. Coming form somebody that hides under an anonymous IP and doesn't even have the guts to sign his own messages. You don't even mention what page you are so upset about. Please be civil. You can get more out of people with honey than with vinegar. Have a nice day. -- Alexf(talk) 23:17, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
The Cromulent Shakespeare Company
Hi,
I would like to propose un-deleting our page.
I cordially dispute the label of "non-notable." 1) We were only the second company in North America to produce the First Quorto of "Hamlet." 2) We generally have produced more plays than the other local companies listed on Wikipedia. 3) We produce original works, adaptations of classics, and classic theatre. 4) We are one of the local companies most likely to use non-traditional casting in our shows.
Finally, it becomes something of a self-fulfilling prophecy. If people cannot find out about us, we are less likely to become notable.
Please feel free to email me for more information.
Yours, Mitchell Bucky Fay Founder of The Cromulent Shakespeare Company —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.40.162.130 (talk) 06:39, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
- I cannot find a page with that name in my deletion list. You would have to be more specific. A link would be best so I can check as I do not recall the page at all. Also please remember to sign your posts with four tildes (~~~~). Thank you. -- Alexf(talk) 12:50, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
Recent Vandalism
Alex -
Apologies for the vandalism that occurred a week and a half ago. I'm a schoolteacher and apparently a student used my computer without asking. I will correct this issue with a disciplinary report using Wikipedia as a springboard - so the student will benefit from the hard work of others like yourself. Feel free to keep me abreast of any other issues at this IP.

Can you please review this and tell us why you felt Lee Mercer Jr. had no indication of notability Gnevin (talk) 02:38, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
- Because I did not see enough to qualify under WP:POLITICIAN. All that was offered is a copy of his defunct website and a blog in Michigan. The writeup on the article was very thin, giving a short and completely unsourced bio and stating the "he is notable for his website". Google only shows strong suspicions for this person to be a hoax. If you feel the deletion was done in error, I'd be willing to reconsider and restore, then send to AfD. -- Alexf(talk) 12:31, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
Love Systems
Hi Alexf,
I've been working on a company page and I could use some feedback on the page. I've followed the guidelines of WP:Corp but I'm not sure if everything is fine. If you have time to review it, I would really appreciate that. The page in questions is User:Coaster7/Love_Systems.
Thanks in advance. Coaster7 (talk) 21:21, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
- I am not an expert in the subject but a few things I see is that it reads a little like advertisement (esp. Products and Sevices section). Some of the references are not acceptable. The Nick Savoy refs (unlinked) at the bottom mean nothing and they are WP:COI. The blog references are also unacceptable as per WP:RS and WP:EL. -- Alexf(talk) 12:53, 23 December 2008 (UTC)
Argentine football
Hi mate, could you do an uncontroversial move for me please. The content of Primera División Argentina 2008–09 (which has a confusingly similar to the Primera specific article Primera División Argentina 2008-09)needs to go back to 2008-09 in Argentine football, the new redirects should be aimed at the appropriate articles. The editor in question has admited his mistake here. I think there is no need to prolong the requested move as it seems a genuine mistake. I would do it myself but I don't have the fabled admin powers. King of the North East 23:00, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
- Done. I hope correctly as I'm iffy on page moves (seldom if ever do them). -- Alexf(talk) 23:25, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

- And this gratuitous insult is for what, if I may ask? If it is for your article being speedy deleted it was not me that deleted it but another admin. I purposely left it alone for a while to give you a chance to explain and work on it after the {{hangon}} tag. I fail to see the point of your insult. -- Alexf(talk) 23:04, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

This page has been deleted. The deletion log for the page is provided below for reference.

Um hello???Cjschll (talk) 00:44, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
- Let's get a few things straight. You should not ever edit or delete somebody else's text in a Talk page, as you deleted my comments to you (since restored). This is considered vandalism and could lead to a block. You should be civil in your communications with other editors. You get more things out of editors (and especially admins) with honey than with vinegar. Don't ask Um hello??? when you do not get an immediate response. Wikipedia works 24x7 across all time-zones but other editors may be off-line (we also have a life, you know) and may not be here to respond immediately, so please be patient.
- As per the deletion information, you are incorrect. According to the logs, the article Corey schell was moved (renamed) to Corey Schell by User:Cyfal on 16:21, 23 December 2008. That article was deleted on 16:45, 23 December 2008 by User:Thingg as: (Speedy deleted per CSD A7, was an article about a real person that didn't assert the importance or significance of its subject.). The article was previously tagged for Speedy Deletion and you were notified of it in your talk page by the editor who tagged it. What I deleted on 16:51, 23 December 2008 was "Corey schell" as (G8: Page dependent on a deleted or nonexistent page) as it was now a redirect to a non-existent page. As part of my admin duties I clean up left-overs. I did not delete the original article but a redirect (note the difference in upper-lower case in the title).
- As per undeletion, it is certainly possible even though I happen to agree with the deleting admin that the article did not properly assert notability under WP:BIO. For the article to be restored to your userspace for you to re-work, it is proper to first ask the deleting admin, so you should post a note to User:Thingg about Corey Schell (note the upper case) and explain what happened. If he does not agree for whatever reason he'll probably politely explain it to you, then I could review the case on override his decision if I I don't agree with his reasoning or if we both disagree with you then you can go to deletion review. I don't foresee any problems with him but I cannot/should not override him without his knowledge and opinion. -- Alexf(talk) 02:54, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

Ok thanks for your help, ( and im really not a mean guy just frustrated and mad) sorryCjschll (talk) 14:51, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
Could you do me a favor and go look at my page and tell me what else I need to doCjschll (talk) 19:03, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
- I took a quick look. I see Thingg has given you good advice already. The article looks much better formatted but I still don't see enough assertion of notability to pass muster. As is, I suspect as soon as you copy it into mainspace an editor will tag it for deletion for lack of notability. Please read WP:BIO and I'm not sure in this case, but I think it would fall under WP:ATHLETE. -- Alexf(talk) 15:24, 25 December 2008 (UTC)
Actually there are 4 people working on this page we are all just using the same user name and same computer as we are at at the studio editing our DVD. So I dont know if you can consider it an autobio anymore. And they notability there are 4 references in there now that proves he is who he is and that there have been NATIONAL attention towards him..Cjschll (talk) 16:18, 25 December 2008 (UTC)
Hey could you take a peek at the page and see if it would pass yet thanks!!!Cjschll (talk) 15:12, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
- Looks better. -- Alexf(talk) 15:16, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
Does that mean it would pass haha...Cjschll (talk) 20:05, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
- Don't know for sure. It means it would not have a no vote from me. I am not a new page patroller so I probably won't notice it when it is posted. But if another editor tags it for deletion under notability rules (either speedy, PROD or AfD), I might, as I routinely do deletion-related admin work. Once you think it's OK for a try, go ahead. Also, once posted, if you want to have the userspace temporary page deleted, you can just place a {{userreq}} tag on it and an admin on duty will take care of it. Quick and simple. Good luck. -- Alexf(talk) 20:18, 26 December 2008 (UTC)

Tinnu Anand
Hi,
I don't know how the wiki space works but Tinnu Anand is a real person and has directed few popular bollywood films and also has acted in many. Its a shame that you can't find a reasonable space on your site to give some basic information about him.
I am no way associated with him and don't know what has happened within the site to delete his details so take action as you see fit.
Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.153.21.15 (talk) 05:39, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
- I've no idea what are you talking about. Is this about an article deletion? If it is, please be so kind as to follow the instructions above and leave a red link to it so I can check. Editnotice
Hi. The preferred way to use editnotices in userspace is to use Special:Mypage/Editnotice and Special:Mytalk/Editnotice, to allow non-admins to have personal editnotices and also an easier detection and maintenance of editnotices in non-user space. So could you please relocate your editnotice from Mediawiki:Editnotice-3-Alexf and then delete the page ? Thanks in advance, Cenarium (Talk) 01:05, 27 December 2008 (UTC)

Hi, I received a message from you--automated or not--which claimed I had made some edits to the article "Tenochtitlan". I don't have any memory of doing so but nor do I have any memory of looking at the article. Because you've branded it as "vandalism", could you have the courtesy to reveal to me my said vandalism? Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.193.72.3 (talk) 07:30, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

I'm the only user under my network which is provided through time warner broadband (and nor have I changed my physical location in the last 3 years). How exactly fixed are i.p. addresses to a user's ISP account and are they not mutable? This to me seems it must have to be true, and I would advise you not to expect the i.p. address as being a fixed individual marker as you did in this instance. Of whatever function you serve to keep wikipedia as a legitimate encyclopedic source, please exercise it with a more thorough sense of how this internet works. Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.193.72.142 (talk) 07:55, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
About My User Name
To Alexf,
I recently married a woman from Viet Nam, and when watching TV I have used Wiki to explain a few things about the actors or the shows. The other night I noticed a missing bit of information about Geena Davis - basically the page writer had missed the fact that she was a guest on Remington Steele, So, I figured out how to ad this content to the page "Remington Steele Sandy Dalrymple Steele in the Chips (Season 3, Episode 20)"
I also have the complete collection of Dr. Who, and I noticed that the Dr. Who pages lack detail, so I joined this Wiki for the purpose of improving that area.
As far as my user name, I just made it up on the stop - I thought this is a form of bloging and I am like a bot going through the internet and adding content. So, the name is meaningless. But I don't know how to change it. I am only just learning the Wiki rules, but if you want me to change it, please send me instructions on how to change it.
Thanks, Sal —Preceding unsigned comment added by Blogbot (talk • contribs) 16:20, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
- Hello Sal. First of all welcome to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is a Wiki (not 'the Wiki'). Wiki is a type of software. Wikipedia is an open encyclopedia using a Wiki engine. It is not a "form of blogging" as you put it but a collaborative encyclopedia. As an open project, it has a few rules that must be followed. In your case your chosen username is not acceptable. Please see the Wikipedia:Username policy for more info. A change of name has to be requested, but in this case, as you have a new account with no history to be preserved is much easier to just abandon this account (I'll block it) and create a new one. Please read the username policies to make sure you pick one that is compliant. Have a good day. (this info is also repeated in your old account for easy referral). Also please remember to sign your posts in Talk pages by adding four tildes at the end. -- Alexf(talk) 16:59, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
Vanderzyden
Hello,
While attempting to make a redirect page, it was "speedily deleted." However, something is wrong now, since the original page for "The Cost of Discipleship" (Bonhoeffer) is now gone.
Please fix.
Vanderzyden (talk) 22:15, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
- I checked and I see nothing to fix. The article was speedy deleted because it had no context and no assertion of notability for inclusion in the encyclopedia. All it said was "The notion of the cost of discipleship is taken from Dietrich Bonhoeffer's book having the The Cost of Discipleship same name.". It referred to a circular redirect to the same one-line article. -- Alexf(talk) 00:05, 30 December
Dec 30 15:30p UTC ENTRY:
OK, so let's dispense with any worries for correcting my contributions. Instead, let's focus on the work of the previous authors. The most critical task at hand is the RESTORATION of the original page for "The Cost of Discipleship". Surely Wikipedia maintains archives of previous pages?
Please, simply find the old page and restore it. Thank you.
John Vanderzyden (talk) 17:36, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
- I checked further and I now see what you mean. There was history behind the redirect which was confusing. The page has been restored. -- Alexf(talk) 19:46, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
