Re:Henry the Fat
Hi there. It's great that you are expanding Henry the Fat and articles like it, but you're not specifying your sources in either a reference section or a new notes section. Is it possible to do something to this effect? Happy New Year, Deacon of Pndapetzim (Talk) 05:34, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
- I second Deacon here. Please cite your sources, this will also allow you to nominate your articles at T:TDYK for front-page exposure.--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 19:36, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Ludwik I the Fair. When removing text, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the text has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Thank you for creating articles on the Dukes of Brzeg. Do note that the city's name is Brzeg, not Brieg (which is a Germanization). I hope you don't mind my moves, if you do, feel free to raise the issue at the article's talk page and ask for more input at the WP:NC page. I am trying to bring the naming of Dukes of Silesia inline with the naming of kings of Poland. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 00:48, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of John II the Pious
A tag has been placed on John II the Pious, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Pyrrhus16 20:04, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

Date format
Please do not insert 'b.' and 'd.' in date ranges of biographies. Readers can figure out which is birth and which is death by the order, and also by which date is earlier. See WP:DATE for more details. Spaced en dashes are used to separate two full dates, not hyphens. Please feel free to ask me if any confusion remains. Happy editing! House of Piast
Hi! I have noticed that you translate my articles from Polish Wikipedia. So I would like to recommend translating my good articles: Agnieszka Bolesławówna, Konstancja wrocławska, Elżbieta Mieszkówna, Fenenna kujawska, Adelajda Kazimierzówna, Eufemia kujawska. :) Wiktoryn (talk) 22:38, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
- Hi! I also have a problem with Jan Kropidło. See on the caption in the photo on the right. There is "Ioanes Cropidlo". In Polish "kropidło" means aspergillum - an instmunent used to sprinkle holy water. I've checked this word in a Polish-Latin dictionary. In Latin "kropidło" is "aspergillum" or "aspersorium", so Cropidlo isn't Latin word. A. Liedke (page 14) wrote that duke Jan was called "Kropidło" by people from Poland. Stanisław A. Sroka in the biography of Jan Kropidło in the book called "Piastowie" wrote that duke Jan was called "Kropidło" due to the thick hair. In the website genealogy.euweb.cz there is Jan Kropidło as "F1. Duke Johann Kropidlo of Oppeln, Archbishop of Gnesen, *1360/4 +1421" (link). We should write articles according to professional literature. We haven't make an original research. So in this situation (I don't have the access to English books) I suggest to use the original Polish by-name "Kropidło".
- My Wiki is Polish Wiki. In English Wikipedia I am rarely. It is desirable that you write to me there :). My English is also not good, but I hope that we understand each other :). Alternatively we are able to speak in Polish ;). Wiktoryn (talk) 13:30, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
Beatrice of Brandenburg
Hi Aldebaran69, the article Beatrice of Brandenburg that you and I have both worked on appears to need a cleanup. I was wondering if you could help clean it up, I don't really understand what a "cleanup" is on wikipedia --Daaviiid (talk) 19:27, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
Hi again, I asked MLauba (the guy who said the page needed a cleanup) why he had put a cleanup tag on it. He replied to saying that it has too many red links and that there is too much infomation on her children. Thanks again! --Daaviiid (talk) 15:30, 23 April 2009 (UTC)
Margaret of Brabant
Hi, I was wondering if you knew anything about Margaret of Brabant, mother of John of Bohemia. She only has a stub and being Queen of Germany, I thought that there should be more information on her. Cheers! --Daaviiid (talk) 15:56, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
Jadwiga of Greater Poland
Hi again. I know that you are looking for more on Margaret of Brabant. Sorry to be annoying but I created an article a while back on the polish queen, Jadwiga of Greater Poland. I have found that her polish article, pl:Jadwiga Bolesławówna has alot more information. If you don't mind, would you translate it. Thanks for being a big help! --Daaviiid (talk) 17:57, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
I must compliment you on your new article, Dukes of Silesia. It seems very long. Cheers--Daaviiid (talk) 13:55, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
Matilde of Brandenburg
Hello, I know I am a pest but I was wondering if you could create an article for Matilde of Bradenburg, wife of Henry IV the Faithful. Yesterday I created one on her mother, Anna of Austria (1275–1327).--Daaviiid (talk) 20:05, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
Maria of Bytom
Hello, thanks for you improvement to Maria of Bytom. Her article now seems far more detailed and you have been able to find more sources on the fact of her having children or not. Thank you--Daaviiid (talk) 09:50, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
Polish wikipedia believes that Lev I of Galicia was the father of Helena, mother of Maria. Lev I was married to a Constance of Hungary? Do you think these two are the parents of Helena?--Daaviiid (talk) 10:15, 23 May 2009 (UTC)
Silesian Piasts
Hi, I noted that you translated many articles about the Silesian Piasts. Great work, thanks a lot! What I noticed however is that you use the Polish names and naming conventions. Though the Silesian Piasts were of Polish descent they were also independent rulers since the early 13th century in period of transition and later, althouth no princes of the Empire, Germanized and part of the HRE. I'm not sure how the Wiki naming convention handle such cases, but IMHO at least for rulers after ~1300 the names should follow the German naming conventions (example: Henry VI the Good vs. Henry VI (Silesia)). Since these articles are your work I would like to know what you think about it. Karasek (talk) 16:11, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
- And prey tell what policy tells us to use German naming conventions for Polish-Silesian Piasts? --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 12:10, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
I have just created Elisabeth of Swidnica, seeing you have created one on her husband, Bolko II. Thanks--Daaviiid (talk) 17:36, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
Hi Aldebaran69, a while back I created an article of Margaret of Brieg. Since you have done alot on her family, I was wondering if you knew anything much more about her?--Daaviiid (talk) 10:27, 6 June 2009 (UTC)
Fennena of Kujavia
Hello Alderbaran 69. A while back I created an article of the women above. I didn't know much about her. Her polish article is very good and is a list article. Seeing you are really good at polish history, I was wondering if you will translate it? Thank You--David (talk) 15:39, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
Sorry I have alread started a page for her, Fennena of Kujavia. One age could be deleted or be redirected to the other, or you could copy and paste your content into the existing article. Cheers--David (talk) 17:26, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
A mystery
Hello Aldebaran69. I have recently been working on the expansion of Elisabeth of Poland Her husband, Charles I of Hungary married three times, his first wife was Maria of Bytom ( the one you helped expand), second was Beatrix of Luxembourg and thirdly was Elisabeth of Poland. Charles had two daughters as you remember, Katherine and Elisabeth. Do you know anything more about whom the mother of the girls could be? It's a real mystery! Thank You--David (talk) 16:53, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
Thank You for my message. I've created an article on Jadwiga of Pomerania, do you know anything else about her? Katherine may have been a daughter of Elisabeth of Poland, but she would have had to have been born within the first three years of their marriage, to determin that she didn't die too young--David (talk) 11:48, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
I'm sorry about being demanding, but could please translate this article for me. [1] It's about Casimir I of Kujavia. There is one on his father and I'm planning of making an article for his mother, Agifa of Rus. Thank You--David (talk) 15:53, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
I've created an article on Jadwiga of Żagań, fourth wife of Casimir III the Great. What do you think? ThankYou--David (talk) 10:05, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
Well done Aldebaron69, Mieszko I of Poland's article is great! I like your attention to detail in many of your articles. If you have no projects for the time being, I wonder if you would be interested in the Kuyavias. I wondered if you'd be interested in creating Casimir of Kuyavia, his daughter was Elisabeth, she was mother of Elizabeth of Bosnia. Casimir's father was Ziemomysl of Kuyavia, one of his daughters was one of our previous projects, Fennenia of Kuyavia, Queen of Hungary. Let me konw if you're interested.--David (talk) 08:52, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
Could please help me with them, I'm having trouble.--David (talk) 17:23, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

Mieszko I
Thank you for your hard work on that and other historical Polish articles. Have you ever thought about nominating your articles to WP:GA? --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 19:16, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- You know better than I which article(s) currently represents your best work. The procedure for nominating an article for GA is relatively streamlined and described at WP:GAC. Don't hesitate to ask me more questions, --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 20:14, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- To complete the nomination, you also need to list the articles on the WP:GAC page (presumably to this section), adding the template to the article is half the process. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 16:45, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
I asked User:Orczar, one of our early Polish history experts, to help with Mieszko. If the two of you can collaborate on this, this will be a Feature Article in no time :) Good luck, --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 21:10, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
English will improve with usage. A lot of this early Polish history is quite speculative. Different historians have come to different conclusions and have written many volumes about their conclusions. Our task is considerably simplified by the article in Polish that already exists :) Orczar (talk) 03:20, 28 August 2009 (UTC)
Hi Aldebaran69! Several days ago I began the GA review for Bolko I the Strict and left some comments at Talk:Bolko I the Strict/GA1. If you still have an interest in the article being promoted to GA status, I would most appreciate a response to my comments. Thank you! Dana boomer (talk) 17:30, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for your quick response on my talk page. There is no problem with poor English, especially as it seems to be your second language. Its great to see people working to learn multiple languages, and I'm more than happy to help with the grammar of the article. However, in your post I'm not sure if you were asking me to provide comments on how to improve the article or thanking me for already making those comments. If the latter is the case, then you're welcome! If the former, check the GAN page I linked above (the second link in my above post) for comments on how to improve the article. Please let me know if you have any questions, and I have the GAN page on my watchlist, so if you would like to respond to comments there I will see your thoughts the next time I check my watchlist. Dana boomer (talk) 20:31, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
Hello, well done with the expansion of Queen Richeza the Blessed (I cannot remember were she's from) I think the article should be nominated for the Did you know page. I don't know how to nominate though. Well done again--David (talk) 10:06, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
Good Article Review of Boleslaw III Krzywousty
Aldebaran69,
The reviewer of this article (Dana Boomer) has not approved the article for GA status and left followiing notes:
This article has some serious issues with sourcing and prose, which need to be rectified before this article can be of GA status. I am going to put this article on hold for a week to allow time for the above concerns to be taken care of. If you have any questions, please let me know. Dana boomer (talk) 19:33, 2 October 2009 (UTC)
I will take care of the prose aspect if You will take care of the sourcing, i.e. please do not edit my changes of the text for the next few days. I will make the article sound good, you annotate the hell out of it. Please advise if you are willing to cooperate on such a project.
Regards --Rob Aleksandrowicz (talk) 15:22, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
Boleslaw III Krzywousty continued...
Aldebaran69,
Please add references to the article. I am currently in the process of editing the prose of the article so please try not to add text until I am finished. I will inform you when I am done fixing the text. I know the article can be expanded further but let's fix what is there first, before moving forward. So, once again, please add as many references as you can come up with, but please do not any more facts (not yet).
Regards
--Rob Aleksandrowicz (talk) 22:19, 6 October 2009 (UTC)

Mestwin I, Duke of Pomerania
Hello Aldebaron69, I see you've worked on Mieszko III the Old and his second wife. Didn't they have a daughter who married Mestwin I, Duke of Pomerania? Because her name has been taken away, do you know the origins of his wife. Also well done with Agnes of Poland, it looks great!--David (talk) 17:41, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
Okay, do you have any other projects planned? I've expanded Margaret of Brandenburg--David (talk) 19:01, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
That sounds good, when you're finished are you going to look at the later Dukes like Leszek II the Black, Bolesław V the Chaste etc. They're all going to need alot of work if they're going to be anything like their Polish articles--David (talk) 19:09, 7 November 2009 (UTC)

Dukes of Silesia
Hi. I changed the names of some Silesian dukes since their duchies weren't Polish but part of Bohemia and the HRE, and the dukes and their dominions were Germanized. I think the given names should be English (WP:UE, WP:NCROY), the names of the duchies and towns after 1350 should be German (Naming conflict: Dealing with historical contexts) and we shouldn't use the Polish naming conventions (George II the Pious vs. George II of Brieg) for people outside of Poland. I hope you can live with these changes. Karasek (talk) 16:33, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
