Afif al-Bizri
Hey Ameer. Thanks. I had a draft I was working on before I left, and yesterday I found it and felt like working on it. Thanks for adding the photos. I hope you've been well. Yazan (talk) 07:54, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
- Btw, could you go through, Abdullah Atfeh, and perhaps add that magic touch of yours where you see fit. ;) Thanks! Yazan (talk) 20:58, 5 January 2012 (UTC)
- Hey Ameer, thanks a lot for c/e. Magic touch, I tell you. ;) Yazan (talk) 01:18, 6 January 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks Ameer. It's good to be back. Kind of takes my mind off things back home. I just want to stay out of the uprising's page and I'll be fine. Arabic added! Cheers. Yazan (talk) 01:31, 6 January 2012 (UTC)
- Muhsin al-Barazi could also use a little c/e if/when you have time! Thanks! Yazan (talk) 14:56, 6 January 2012 (UTC)
- Marhaba Ameer. Do you mind taking a look at Lutfi al-Haffar (and Sabri al-Asali). It may need some c/e... if you have time! Thanks a lot my friend! :) Yazan (talk) 13:11, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks Ameer. Everytime I need to look up something on Wikipedia, I realize how much more could be added to it. Thanks for all the help. It'd be quite difficult to keep editing without the friendly faces. I'll take a look at the Sabri al-Asali refs you left! Cheers Yazan (talk) 08:34, 14 January 2012 (UTC)

Azzam Pasha quote AfD
I have suggested on the AfD regarding the Azzam Pasha quote that the article be merged with Azzam Pasha and have already moved most of the material to that article. Please note your opinion on a suggested merge at the AfD.--The Devil's Advocate (talk) 16:42, 10 January 2012 (UTC)
DYK for Husayn Pasha
On 12 January 2012, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Husayn Pasha, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that under the prosperous and benign rule of Husayn Pasha, the city of Gaza was regarded as the capital of Palestine? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Husayn Pasha. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

Hey there. Sorry I have been super busy as well (Work, Life, ETC). Anyways, Yeah, Hossam is personal friend of mine so if you need any info on him, it wont be a problem. I started a expansion but due to life, I never got it finish it nor work on it. You can work on it and let me know if you need any help. Also let know before you merge them. -- The Egyptian Liberal (talk) 22:47, 22 December 2011 (UTC)
- "Hossam like myself is boycotting the SCAF Elections :-) As far as political activity, he is a member of RS and Workers Democratic Party. Now, about the draft; I think its best you add the info there before going live with the edits for many reasons:
- ) So we can take our time with it and still make it 2 DYK.
- ) Can have peer viewed to make sure its up 2 standards before going live.
- ) Hossam can view to correct any mistakes that we might have done.
- ) Honestly, even my draft is shit, The article needs major work. Hossam could be one of the most famous youth activist beside Wael Ghonim but unlike Ghonim he has been active for longer so he would be an interesting person to read/write about. The article with your skills be a featured article in no time :-)
- As for sources, the talk page has "Find sources" help button that will give you 100s for sources. Again, feel free 2 ask anything. -- The Egyptian Liberal (talk) 07:02, 23 December 2011 (UTC)
- Yes He was (Asked personally) but I could find any sources the talks about his involvement with Kefaya in english :S. Maybe you will have a better luck finding it. Can we use this as source regarding his involvement with Ahram Online English portal and El-Badeel http://twitter.com/#!/3arabawy/status/150442638858928128 . -- The Egyptian Liberal (talk) 05:59, 25 December 2011 (UTC)
- I added more sources to the article as well as the article talk page. Let know if you need anything else. I think with the sources, we can get it up-to wikipedia DYK standards and it would be sweet if it was posted there on Jan. 25 :D -- The Egyptian Liberal (talk) 05:53, 15 January 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry, I have been busy. Life is crazy at the moment....Death and whatnot from Port Said the in-front on MOI but will work on it today if nothing happens in Egypt. -- The Egyptian Liberal (talk) 04:16, 7 February 2012 (UTC)
DYK
Template:Did_you_know/Queue as of 10:04, 23 January 2012 (UTC) has queues 2, 3, 4 scheduled for 25 January and at the moment they are empty. However, there are 3 preparation areas which are already done, waiting to be promoted into the queue. According to the guideline at Template_talk:Did_you_know#Special_occasion_holding_area, special occasion DYK's should be filed in the ordinary section under the created/expanded date, and also "between five days and six weeks before the occasion, to give reviewers time to check the nomination". So in principle, it's too late, but technically, it's still possible if the DYK posting is done fast, if someone is willing to review it fast, and if an admin is willing to put it in the queue fast because of the date. Since i've contributed to the Hossam article, i can't be a reviewer (Wikipedia:Did_you_know: "Use common sense here, and please avoid even the appearance of conflict of interest.") And i'm not an admin, so i can't promote to the queue. Somehow you would need to alert possible reviewers and admins and see if they are willing to act fairly fast, asking very politely. Given the worldwide interest in the topic, they might be willing. Boud (talk) 10:04, 23 January 2012 (UTC)

Copyedits and more
Marhaba Ameer! I hope you're well. I finished expanding two articles I was working on, Amrit and 1936 Syrian general strike. I would appreciate if you could go through them and see if they need some copyediting. Also, is it possible to move Old City of Aleppo to Ancient City of Aleppo over redirect. The latter is the official name for it under the UNESCO World Heritage listing. Thank you ya Ameer! ;) Cheers. Yazan (talk) 14:55, 22 January 2012 (UTC)
- Salamat Ameer! I fixed one of the "dubious" quotes, and I'll think of how to fix the other. Although they are direct quotes from the books, with a citation right after them. Thanks again! I'd love to help out with Tankiz whenever you feel it's ready for mainspace. Give me a ping when you're done! Cheers. Yazan (talk) 05:21, 23 January 2012 (UTC)
- Done: Anytime ;) Yazan (talk) 12:14, 1 February 2012 (UTC)

DYK for Sabri al-Asali
On 28 January 2012, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Sabri al-Asali, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that former prime minister of Syria Sabri al-Asali (pictured) was part of the delegation that attended the founding of the Arab League in Cairo in 1945? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Sabri al-Asali.You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. Dear Al Ameer son,
I have improved my user page using almost the same style you use for yours, I hope that's fine with you. Also, I'm having a small problem with userboxe's - any help is useful. Bahraini Activist Talk to me 19:02, 29 January 2012 (UTC)

Mediation request
I'm inviting you to mediate the following discussion taking place on Talk:Anti-Defamation League. The debate is about properly sourced material being removed under different charges. All material had as references reliable sources. These are the edits arousing controversy:[1][2] Arguments from both sides have been laid out on the Talk Page, and no consensus has emerged. Please, weigh in on the discussion. Guinsberg (talk) 22:11, 1 February 2012 (UTC)
