Hi Al Ameer son, I saw you reverted the merge saying "Totally different place within Gaza City". I am no expert of Gaza geography, but I see that the coordinates for the two items are very close ([1], [2]). Can you explain more to me about the two places, so that we can see how to better define them (and eventually remove the "merge" template request)? Thanks, --Dans (talk) 12:54, 28 December 2018 (UTC)
P.S.: Maybe you can help me: yesterday I was translating into Italian the pages about the Holy Family Church, Gaza and the Church of Saint Porphyrius. Looking on commons, I couldn't find any picture of them. Are you aware of any creative-commons picture available, or are you in touch with anyone in Gaza who could upload few pics? I was also looking at the Wikicommons Gaza category, and there's a bit of a mess and not so much material about current buildings and facilities. Thanks!--Dans (talk) 13:16, 28 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Dans: I see the problem now. The coords for al-Zaytun Quarter are incorrect. This neighborhood is part of the Old City of Gaza, specifically the area around the Church of St. Porphyrius. The other Zeitoun is a 20th-century suburb in the southwestern outskirts of Gaza City. The coords for that article are correct. And I’ll see if I can find any pictures hiding in the commons. —Al Ameer (talk) 14:39, 28 December 2018 (UTC)

Marj Rahit
Hi! I was thinking of nominating Battle of Marj Rahit (684) for GA, but before I do it, is there anything you might consider missing from it? I haven't been able to find much else since I wrote it back in 2013 (!), and had quite forgotten about it, but your recent edits got me back :). Constantine ✍ 20:36, 26 January 2019 (UTC)
- Hey Cplakidas. I think it’s ready for GAN, so please nominate it. I might add a bit more information in the coming days, but nothing that would radically alter the article the way it is now. Thanks again for all your fruitful efforts with this subject area :) —Al Ameer (talk) 02:02, 28 January 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks, will go ahead then. Likewise thanks for your valuable contributions! Best, Constantine ✍ 12:49, 5 February 2019 (UTC)

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Al-Walid I, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Diwan (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). You might be interested
I found some material you might find interesting (in relation to your GA nom Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan):
- This article sheds light on Arab-Sasanian coinage and specific dates.[3]
- " After the Arab conquest, in areas of the early Umayyad caliphate formed from the heartlands of the Sasanian Empire Arab-Sasanian issues imitated Sasanian design but with Arabic legends, until the coinage reform of ’Abd al-Malik in the 690s created a new, aniconic Muslim coinage. The form of the Islamic silver dirham nonetheless owed its distinctive silver fabric and wide flan to Sasanian minting techniques." -- Darley, Rebecca; Canepa, Matthew (2018). "coinage, Persian". The Oxford Dictionary of Late Antiquity
- "The Caliph ’Abd al-Malik introduced the dirham in the 690s, abandoning experiments with Sasanian and Byzantine coin weight and design. The dirham combined the silver fabric of Sasanian silver coinage with an aniconic, Islamic design." -- Darley, Rebecca (2018). "dirham". The Oxford Dictionary of Late Antiquity
The article's looking good in any case, keep up the good work!
- LouisAragon (talk) 03:37, 24 March 2019 (UTC)
- @LouisAragon: Thanks for the references. I'm not sure how I can best fit any of the aforementioned into the section about his reforms of the coinage without getting into too much detail. Right now, it states: "Similarly, the Muslims' issue of silver dirhams in the Sassanian design was abolished under Abd al-Malik, and depictions of the Sassanian king were removed from the coinage in 698/99." Please feel free to modify or add to it from the new sources you've found. I'll copyedit as necessary. Otherwise, it should certainly be used for the article on the dirham, which needs a lot of work. --Al Ameer (talk) 18:10, 25 March 2019 (UTC)
- Congrats on reaching GA!
- I added a tiny bit of information from the Oxford Dictionary of Late Antiquity. Please let me know what you think. If you don't think its a valuable/proper addition at all; feel free to remove it. - LouisAragon (talk) 17:00, 28 March 2019 (UTC)
- @LouisAragon: Thanks! It’s a relevant and appropriate qualifier for his coinage reforms. I made a very slight modification. Other than that, the quote just needs to be attributed to its author. —Al Ameer (talk) 01:03, 29 March 2019 (UTC)
