WikiCup flag

Hi- as no new flag was chosen, you've been randomly assigned the flag of Tokelau. Tokelau's flag is particularly interesting because it is so new- only approved this year :) Don't worry if you've no connection to Tokelau- the flag isn't that important, it just gives you your place on the poster. J Milburn (talk) 02:26, 31 December 2009 (UTC)

Thanks! Airplaneman talk 02:53, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

The 2010 WikiCup begins tomorrow!

Welcome to the biggest WikiCup Wikipedia has yet seen! Round one will take place over two months, and finish on February 26. There is only one pool, and the top 64 will progress. The competition will be tough, as more than half of the current competitors will not make it to round 2. Details about scoring have been finalized and are explained at Wikipedia:WikiCup/Scoring. Please make sure you're familiar with the scoring rules, because any submissions made that violate these rules will be removed. Like always, the judges can be reached through the WikiCup talk pages, on their talk page, or over IRC with any issues concerning anything tied to the Cup. We will keep in contact with you via weekly newsletters; if you do not want to receive them, please remove yourself from the list here. Conversely, if a non-WikiCup participant wishes to receive the newsletters, they may add themselves to that list. Well, enough talk- get writing! Your submission's page is located here. Details on how to submit your content is located here, so be sure to check that out! Once content has been recognized, it can be added to your submissions page, from which our bot will update the main score table. Remember that only articles worked on and nominated during the competition are eligible for points. Have fun, and good luck! Garden, iMatthew, J Milburn, and The ed17 19:15, 31 December 2009 (UTC)

Happy New Year and welcome back!

Happy New Year! I hope you had a good vacation. I'm about to be off for the day, but I'll be around later this week and try to do some clean-up work on the PJ stuff. An IP added a bunch of descriptive stuff about the cabins today; I didn't delete it because I couldn't really find a good reason, but it does seem like fancruft. That's what I find difficult – deciding what's detail and what's just excessive. Oh well. Anyway, I hope your new year is starting well! PrincessofLlyr (talk) 04:43, 5 January 2010 (UTC)

Thank you! Vacation was relaxing :). I'm going to be busy this month (exams, eek!), so I might not be around for a day or two at times. Your userpage looks neat. Yea, I think we should put all that cabin info into a table and clean up the writing in the process – what do you think? Airplaneman talk 04:48, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
Sounds good! I'm not much good with tables, but I'll be glad to mess with the writing. I'm about to be back in school too, so my edit count will drop drastically! I did get a lot done during break though. Oh, and about my userpage, I'm glad you like it! I was a bit nervous about it and had to mess around quite a bit before I got it right, but I'm fairly happy. I'll be back to changing it again in awhile! If you have any great suggestions feel free to tell me – I can use the help! Oh, this is only semi-related, but I was following the thread on the PJTF talk, I'm sorry about it getting all changed. Personally, I thought the colors were a bit bright, but it's rather boring now. Maybe we could go with a more pastel color? Also, and this may be my computer, but the big PJTF banner at the top and the note about the design being changed spread out really strangely. Like I said, it may just be my computer, but I was kind of curious to see if anyone else had that problem. Wow, this post is all over the place, sorry for rambling! PrincessofLlyr (talk) 05:00, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
Hmmm... In what way? It might be that the banner doesn't take to your monitor's screen resolution. It happens to me sometimes. Since Wikipedia is a work in progress, I guess the stuff can be changed at any time, for better or worse. If you're considering changing the colors (I don't have an eye for those things), here's a huge list of them. About the table: I guess you could fiddle with it in the PJTF sandbox, maybe? I'll try to remember to drop by and see! Airplaneman talk 05:08, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
Sorry, I wasn't ignoring you, but I didn't have time to reply that night and I've been busy. I messed a bit with the spacing on the PJTF page, so you can tell me if it looks any different to you. It's just that all the stuff was overlapping. The table looks great! I'll go through and try to do some more copyediting. If you didn't see, I just joined Wikiproject Warriors, so my attention is getting divided. But PJTF still gets my main focus. Happy editing! PrincessofLlyr (talk) 03:57, 7 January 2010 (UTC)
That's fine, and the spacing looks OK. I'm in WP Warriors too and like the series, but yea, I'm more into the PJTF (I think it needs more attention, personally). Airplaneman talk 04:11, 7 January 2010 (UTC)
About the PJTF page spacing: I changed all of the "enter"s into a <br>, which is essentially the same thing. Airplaneman talk 04:32, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

How do you do the edit notices and why am I suddenly seeing three of them when I edit your talk? PrincessofLlyr (talk) 23:14, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

Whoa, three? It's happening to me too... IDK... weird. Thought it might just be my computer, but looks like it's more widespread. Strange... not sure what's happening. It's happening with everyone's talk pages (I just tested User talk:iBen and User talk:decltype). Before, either one or two appeared. I'll report it to the technical village pump if it persists, I guess. WP:EDITNOTICE tells you about edit notices and helps you create them. Happy editing! Airplaneman talk 23:55, 7 January 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, it's showing two red links to "edit notices" on my talk. Strange! Thanks for the link; I'll take a look. PrincessofLlyr (talk)
I am now seeing only 1 editnotice. Hooray! Can you take a look at Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Sea of Monsters? It was just created, and I tried to wikify it. It still needs a lot of work as well as a mention in the series article. Unfortunately, I have to go now. Thanks, Airplaneman talk 00:44, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
I also tried to be bold and tweak your talkpage format so the message box didn't overlap the archivebox. Airplaneman talk 00:49, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
Thanks! I wasn't sure what to do about that. I don't know if you'll have time to reply to this, but according to WP: NF films should start principal photography before they get an article, which means we should probably request deletion for Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Sea of Monsters. PrincessofLlyr (talk) 00:52, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
Yea, we might have to :(. We could also incubate it until filming has begun. Also, I figured out what is causing three edit notices to show up at one time. I bet you're using WikiEd :). When I turn it off, only one notice is shown. Airplaneman talk 21:31, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
Well, I was bold and prodded it already. I added the info to both the main PJ&tO page and the Lightning Thief movie page. And yes, I'm using WikiEd! I wonder why it does that. Weird. PrincessofLlyr (talk) 22:20, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
Great! At least the info is still there. In due time, the article can be recreated. You know, WikiEd does lots of weird things, including but not limited to:
  • Adding extra space at the very top of the page (equivalent to two taps of the "enter" or "return" button)
  • Adding extra space when you press enter (anywhere, also equivalent to two taps of the "enter" or "return" button)
That gives articles a blank top line and messes up bullets, among other things... Oh well. At least it's colorful, and the text markup stands out more clearly. Now I just toggle it on and off whenever I need/don't need it. Airplaneman talk 03:48, 9 January 2010 (UTC)

¡Thanks!

Thank you very much for you welcome. Sorry, I can not write more because of my low level of English. Best wishes to you for Christmas and best regards. Dorieo (talk) 01:13, 6 January 2010 (UTC) PS: Do you speek Spanish?

It's fun to welcome new users and means a lot when I get a reply :). I can speak and write Spanish at a basic level, while I can read it at about an intermediate level (reading's easier because you can figure out the meanings of words using other words around it). I'm still learning! Feel free to ask any questions you may have; I'll try my best to answer them. Happy New Year! Airplaneman talk 02:43, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
You're very kind. Happy New Year! I am interested in contact with users who write about ancient Greece. Specifically with the Wikipedia:WikiProject Classical Greece and Rome. Do you know any member of this project? I am the founder of this and I would like us to collaborate between the two projects. We have translated many articles about ancient Greece and Rome from English into Spanish: for exmaple, Alcibiades's article was translated by me. I offer that they can do the same in reverse: We have very good articles for which they lack. Excuse my mistakes. Thanks in advance. Best regards! Dorieo (talk) 16:31, 7 January 2010 (UTC)
I'm not sure if he knows Spanish, but Bibliomaniac15 is a member of the project and a very experieced user; he might be able to help you with project stuff. As for translating English→Spanish, I don't know anybody who could help. I would, but I don't know nearly enough Spanish to translate. Regards, Airplaneman talk 21:41, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

PJTF Resignation

I noticed that you changed it back to the way it was before. I thought it was ugly before and helped improve it. I hate the design so much that I am resigning.  Done--iBendiscuss 00:28, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

I'm sorry to hear that. I tried to reach a compromise by reorganizing while keeping the aspect you liked, such as scroll boxes and the message window thingies. To be frank, it didn't help that I pretty much revamped the whole page and helped give the project a new breath of air, spending hours on updating the content and adding an un-stylish splash here and there. Sorry it turned out this way; task forces are not really about the task force page's design, but rather about specific content, in this case, articles about and related to the Percy Jackson series. I hope you'll reconsider and join again to help us improve PJ articles :). Happy editing, Airplaneman talk 02:47, 7 January 2010 (UTC)
Thank you--iBendiscuss 03:07, 7 January 2010 (UTC)
All is well :). I hope I didn't sound mean (apologies if I did); I just didn't the the organization of the info made it as accessible as before. My point was that the task force is for content. Since people have different tastes, the look will never please everyone. Best wishes, Airplaneman talk 03:21, 7 January 2010 (UTC)
I forgive you :). I understand that our work's sole intention is to improve the encyclopedia and the experience of the users of the encyclopedia (does that make sense?) and that sometimes the good intentions don't concur with each other. Thanks for the olive branch! Hmm... maybe I can pick some olives off of that branch and make some olive oil... Airplaneman talk 03:43, 9 January 2010 (UTC)

Frown

iBendiscuss has frowned at you! Frowns promote WikiWar and hopefully you will take this as a WikiWarning. Spread the WikiWar by frowning at someone else, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past or a good friend. Cheers, and Happy editing!
Frown at others by adding {{subst:WikiFrown}} to their talk page with a friendly message.

No thanks, iWon't spread it, but iGet the message :). May you experience delightful, fun-filled editing! Airplaneman talk 02:51, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

Barnstar for you!

The Special Barnstar
See, I couldn't find just one barnstar that encompassed everything you've done: amazing work on the PJTF, being very patient with a new and ignorant user (me!), and generally doing a wonderful job improving the encyclopedia, so I picked this one! It's very accurate – you are a special user (one of the nicest I've come upon) and long overdue for a barnstar from me! I've probably left something out, but thanks for that too! PrincessofLlyr (talk) 03:19, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
I cannot describe in words how much I appreciate this :). Thank you. Airplaneman talk 21:29, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
Actually, I've been thinking about giving you one for awhile, but I couldn't decide which one I liked best! You've earned it! PrincessofLlyr (talk) 22:24, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

PJ stuff again!

Kollision added a to do list on Talk:Percy Jackson & the Olympians; I didn't have time to do much about it, but I did start a possible characters list in the PJTF sandbox, if you want to take a look at it. I will continue working through the items as I have time. Happy editing! PrincessofLlyr (talk) 19:25, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

I'll take a look. I've also responded on the talk page. Thanks for the barnstar!!!!!!!!!!! Regards, Airplaneman talk 21:47, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

Do you think the characters list is ready for mainspace? It might at least be better than what's there now. PrincessofLlyr (talk) 13:42, 10 January 2010 (UTC)

Yes! We can work on it more in the article itself. I think we need more descriptions about the characters' personalities. I don't think we need to say much about what they do, since it's already described in the plot summaries; I think what we have now in that regard is good. So, yea, I'll move it! Airplaneman talk 17:52, 10 January 2010 (UTC)

IBen placed a merge tag on Percy Jackson & the Olympians which does not make any sense to me. Can you take a look at it and tell me what you think should be done with it? Thanks! PrincessofLlyr (talk) 02:54, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

I'll remove it. Not to be blunt or anything, but iBen's taggings haven't always been, well, logical. Regards, Airplaneman talk 21:29, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
Thanks! I just wanted to make sure there wasn't something I was missing. And thank you for the smile ("Not to be blunt or anything...")! PrincessofLlyr (talk) 23:29, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of The Titan's Curse

The article The Titan's Curse you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needed to be addressed. If these are fixed within seven days, the article will pass, otherwise it will fail. See Talk:The Titan's Curse for things which need to be addressed. Jezhotwells (talk) 23:10, 10 January 2010 (UTC)

Airplaneman, I did a few of those and I'll get to more when I have time. So far: rewrote sentences in lead, wiki-linked and explained hippocamp and Poseidon, attempted to correct the part of about Bianca destroying the Talos-prototype, rewrote sentence about the ophiotaurus (including link to Olympus), split sentence about the battle between Thalia and Luke, and wiki-linked Titans. I'll try to go back and do a general copyedit when I get time! PrincessofLlyr (talk) 16:00, 12 January 2010 (UTC)

Thanks so much! I'm extremely busy (and will be for the next two weeks) but I'll try to drop in on Friday to copyedit the whole article. Airplaneman talk 00:22, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

Please help!

Hi Airplaneman, Can you please adopt me on Wikipedia? Since you play the violin you might be sympathetic to my plea! I have a classical album just released (entitled 'The Tides Of Time') which has been marked to be speedily deleted on Wikipedia today. As far as I have seen the article (posted by 'Magiko') is both totally truthful and accurate. Someone in the past deleted also my own biographical page as well (page entitled: Polo Piatti) stating that I lacked "notability". I have published articles, given concerts, been on radio and television worldwide, I am listed on the 'International Who's Who in Music' (Classical) and have now released a CD with my own music in the UK (an orchestral suite in 14 tracks). If that is not "notable" enough I don't understand Wikipedia's rules anymore. In any case, I am not on any type of "ego" or "vanity"trip here. But many people always ask me why I am not on Wikipedia. I usually respond because I am not "notable" enough - something that usually causes some amusement. I truly hope someone would like to take on my case and help me solve this predicament. I have seen people included in Wikipedia that are truly irrelevant - some of them past pupils of mine! - so, it is really difficult for me to understand why people in Wikipedia are banning both my biography and my work from this great encyclopedia?! In any case, I would really appreciate someone like you to help me with this. Thanks a lot Airplaneman. With kind regards Polo Piatti (talk) 16:24, 11 January 2010 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia! I'd be glad to adopt you, and am sorry to hear that attempts to document you and you works have so far been in vain, although Wikipedia has definitely not banned articles about you. I don't know if playing the violin makes any difference, though, as I welcome any user equally who is here to contribute positively. I will mention many guidelines and pages while trying to help here; please click on them to learn more.
Here's where I'll start with the deletion thing; I'm betting the articles about you and your works were unreferenced, and at the time, significant coverage from reliable, third party sources could not be found. You see, Wikipedia's notability guidelines clearly state that significant coverage is needed; I found decent coverage on a Google Search of your name, although some of the sources, such as blog posts, MySpace and Facebook, are not considered reliable. Please take a look at the guidelines and ask away if you have any more confusion :). I was confused when I first came here as well, getting my first two (poorly written) articles deleted. A mention of other supposedly non-notable articles, I'm sorry to say, doesn't really help your case. Neither does saying that people ask why you aren't on Wikipedia, as there is no way to verify if others said it or not; regardless, others' opinions on the matter are irrelevant without reliable sources to back them up. Again, only if you can find significant coverage from reliable sources for the articles that were deleted will you have a chance of them being kept.
Furthermore, I stumbled upon this investigation. It is unfortunate that this had to come to light; if User:Magiko is you, you can't create/edit the articles you mentioned above (The Tides of Time and Polo Piatti) because they are a conflict of interest. Furthermore, if you have used a second account to do something like remove a speedy deletion tag from an article your other account created, this is called abusing accounts. Your editing priveleges may be removed unless you make amends.
I know this is a ton of info, and hope I didn't overwhelm you. In the end, I'm here to help. Please ask any more questions you may have. Regards, Airplaneman talk 22:39, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
Note: I've also posted here and here. Airplaneman talk 23:04, 11 January 2010 (UTC)

Dear Airplaneman! Thank you SO MUCH for accepting to mentor me on Wikipedia! As you have seen I have made some genuine mistakes already so, your help will be invaluable to me. A few minutes ago I wrote to DESiegel in response to his previous comments and copied it for you (below). I would be grateful if you could please read that and let me know if you agree with my suggestion of running everything by you first. I look forward to hearing from you. Many thanks again, 86.142.31.193 (talk) 08:18, 12 January 2010 (UTC)

"Dear DESiegel. You have been extremely helpful and understanding (and have managed to restored my faith in Wikipedia). In fact you should receive an award for this!

In any case and in the meantime many thanks for creating the draft based article. After reading what you and Airplaneman have written to me, I guess that everything will be simplified if an article on myself would be created also so that both articles can support each other. The only small problem I can see is that the majority of my info and reviews are in foreign languages (especially Spanish and German) and would take a bit of time to translate. However, I can do this, no problem. Also, I have now understood that to protect Wikipedia’s integrity you do need specific proof, reliable sources, precise dates, names and venues that support everything. That is no problem either, I just need a little time to do it (I am working on a composition deadline at present). Fortunately Airplaneman has declared his willingness to help and mentor me! I guess the best to do now is to stay in contact with him directly and provide him with all the information needed for both articles (the The Tides Of Time and the Polo Piatti one). I would be very grateful if you (and Airplaneman) could please let me know if you are both OK with this? I would hate to make any more mistakes. Thanks again. 86.142.31.193 (talk) 08:18, 12 January 2010 (UTC) "

Looks good! I'll be busy in the coming weeks and might not respond fast, but I'll make sure to help getting an article started for both Polo Piatti and The Tides of Time. Regards, Airplaneman talk 00:28, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

Great, many thanks for that to both of you. A final question, please: I just need your help one more time so that I can work on my own from now on. If you can open (or tell me how to open) a Draft Page for the Polo Piatti article I could start. The only important thing is for me to be able to work on the articles by SAVING info on the Draft but OFF-LINE and therefore WITHOUT uploading to the internet. That way I will avoid making any more mistakes before any of you have approved the articles. Can you help me do that, please? Many thanks again. Magiko (talk) 06:38, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

You can create a subpage just like DESiegel did, but it's online. To make an offline copy, you'll need to create it on a word processor. I think the best option is to create a subpage, in this case, User:Magiko/Polo Piatti. That way, the mistakes can be worked out, it won't be tagged for deletion, and we can work on it together easily. How does that sound? Airplaneman talk 00:22, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
P.S. I suggest you stick to one account and declare on your other account's userpage that it is an alternate account of your main one. Airplaneman talk 00:31, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

Thanks a lot, Airplaneman. Much appreciated. DESeiegel already opened the following Draft Page for me: User:Magiko/drafts/Polo Piatti so I guess it would make sense to use it. I also responded to him and wanted to copy you on it as well. I wrote the following:

Thanks a lot for everything DESiegel. I truly appreciate your help and advice. I will start working on the Draft Page as soon as possible and wait for your advice (and Airplaneman's) before moving it to the main article space, of course. Airplaneman suggested I should stick to just one account from now on and I totally agree with him. Hence I'd like to declare this openly and keep the Magiko account as my only one. Unfortunately I don't know how (and where) to declare that the two accounts are from the same source? Otherwise I don't have any problem with shutting down my other account - the Polo Piatti account - altogether. I would be very grateful if you could help me do this. I will then do the rest on my own and contact you once my article has progressed enough to be reviewed by yourselves. Many thanks again! 86.142.31.193 (talk) 05:49, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

Your alternate account is considered a doppelgänger account. You can tag your Polo Piatti account with {{doppelganger|Magiko}} or {{doppelgänger-other|Magiko}} to let people know. Airplaneman talk 03:01, 16 January 2010 (UTC)

I noticed that you are participating in the 2010 WikiCup. I have been working on the Bolognia push which is a project to make sure Wikipedia has an article (or redirect) on every know cutaneous condition. With that being said, there are still many cutaneous condition stubs to be made, and Bolognia could be a source for a lot of DYK articles, etc. Therefore, I was thinking maybe we could help one another... a competative WikiCup that also serves to improve dermatologic content on Wikipedia. I could e-mail you the Bolognia login information if you have any interest? ---kilbad (talk) 03:20, 12 January 2010 (UTC)

Hey! I saw you as a member on the Guild of Copy-Editors and am wondering if you could help me out with an article I am working on, the Nobel Prize. A quite important article since, many link to it etc. I think the content is starting to get good but it really needs some copy-editing which I apparently isn't suited for. Do you have any chance to help out? --Esuzu 18:24, 14 January 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Esuzu (talkcontribs)

I'd be glad to, although not in the next week. If you're not pressed for time, I'll certainly take a look before February. Nice to meet you! Airplaneman talk 19:16, 15 January 2010 (UTC)

Oh ok. Anyways, I was looking through the very old version of the Warriors article... it used to have a section about RP's, which apparently was very poorly written; the page was full of advertisement for the RP's. But I have no idea what happened, I suppose someone eventually fixed it. I cannot imagine a Wikipedia without sinebot, but apparently, back then, it didnt exist. Brambleclawx 02:05, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

Erm... what are RPs? I can't imagine Wikipedia without bots either; or maybe I can: it'd be a mess! Airplaneman talk 19:14, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

Oh, I see. Done with exams, so my editing should be back to normal next week. I'm out on Friday, will return Sunday night. I'm working on a custom template in my sandbox as other vacation templates don't have the wording I would like. How is it? Airplaneman talk 22:32, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

We need to add refs to Kate Cary ASAP. See Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Warriors#Tools to help your project with unreferenced Biographies Brambleclawx 03:25, 26 January 2010 (UTC)

I see. All of this is overwhelming - I am gone for a couple of days and come back far behind. I'm playing "catch-up" and am still absorbing the whole BLP thing. I'm busy, but will help with Cary's article soon. Airplaneman talk 00:10, 27 January 2010 (UTC)

I know you're busy, but I thought you'd be interested in seeing this new article: The Ultimate Guide. I've done a bit of work on it, but it's still pretty barren. Like I said, I know you're busy with exams, but take a look if you have time. PrincessofLlyr (talk) 01:45, 16 January 2010 (UTC)

I'll take a look this coming weekend! Thanks for letting me know, Airplaneman talk 02:54, 16 January 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Reunion (Dune Album)

Hello Airplaneman. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Reunion (Dune Album), a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: A9 Dune has a Wikipedia article. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 07:26, 16 January 2010 (UTC)

Argh, I must not have done a thorough search. Thanks for letting me know. Airplaneman talk 22:16, 16 January 2010 (UTC)

Add-A-Picture...

Hello, Airplaneman! I was just wondering how you put a picture in an article, considering that I think the Kayavak article could really use a picture of her. I'm going to the Shedd in March, and I really want to show the staff the Kayavak article with a picture of her on it. Graci, Belugaboy535136 talk 12:52, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

Let's see... use the following code. Parenthesis show what you need to fill in: (number of pixels-determined size. try 200 for starts)px|thumb|(right or left)|(caption). Also try looking at articles with pictures if you still need some help. Regards, Airplaneman talk 05:16, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
Does it have to be saved on your computer? I tried from one of the refrences and it showed up as a red link. If you could answer ASAP, I would be exceedingly grateful. Regards, -- Belugaboy535136 talk 17:59, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
Sorry for the late response. I've been busy. Yes, you have to have it saved on your computer so you can upload it, if it's an image you took. See WP:FILE for more info; I think it'll make things clearer than I can make them in this case. Regards, Airplaneman talk 07:16, 21 January 2010 (UTC)
Sorry if it seems I'm taking advantage of your knowlege. I was just wondering what status I should click for the "copyright licensing" balloon, as I got it from a refrence to the article. Graci--Belugaboy535136 talk 12:47, 21 January 2010 (UTC)
That's fine, I'm here to help. In this instance, I might not be of much help, as I am not sure what you are referring to. When I uploaded a book cover (copyrighted) I just filled out a form, but don't remember a "copyright licensing ballon". I know an admin who will probably be able to answer your question, as he does a lot of image work. His name's User:Skier Dude. Sorry I couldn't give you a direct solution. When you ask him, I'll watch the conversation, as I have stuff to learn as well. Airplaneman talk 18:43, 21 January 2010 (UTC)
I'm sorry I wasn't all clear, it's the selection balloon marked "Licensing." Does this help? Graci 23:04, 21 January 2010 (UTC)~ —Preceding unsigned comment added by Belugaboy535136 (talkcontribs)
No worries, I'm going to the Shedd this weekend (Saturday, to be exact) to see the new baby beluga and I'll get a picture of Kayavak then. Regards, Belugaboy535136 contribs 13:40, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
Cool, have fun! Airplaneman talk 22:53, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
Thanks!! I'll try to leave the picture here so you can see how it turned out! Let's just hope they opened the underwater viewing of BOTH beluga habitats... Regards, Belugaboy535136 contribs 00:51, 30 January 2010 (UTC)

Community de-Adminship - finalization poll for the CDA proposal

After tolling up the votes in the revision proposals, it emerged that 5.4 had the most support, but elements of that support remained unclear, and various comments throughout the polls needed consideration.

A finalisation poll (intended, if possible, to be one last poll before finalising the CDA proposal) has been run to;

  • gather opinion on the 'consensus margin' (what percentages, if any, have the most support) and

A salute to your enthusiasm ...

I dropped by after seeing your vote in an RfA and thought you might be in the USAF ... and find much delightful enthusiasm for Wikipedia. Congratulations for what you've accomplished in the project and best wishes for the future ... however it flies. :-)

P.S. I play piano, guitar, banjo, harmonica ... and once had an electric violin, but I loaned it to a cute girl who never gave it back. LoL (Which was OK because it was the only instrument I really couldn't play. Violin just doesn't fit my finger skill somehow.) So, don't loan your violin to anyone no matter how cute they are. :-) Cheers. Proofreader77 (interact) 03:58, 19 January 2010 (UTC)

Why, thank you! That made my day :), and it's nice to meet you, Proofreader77. I try to look at the bright side of things, and it almost always works. I'm not in the USAF, though; I just love planes :D. And yea, I'll be really careful with my violin. It's an actual wooden one that I wouldn't want to lose, considering it's not exactly cheap and I can play it... I hope to see you around the wiki! Mountain of Despair, Mount Tamalpais, place?

Should we change it in the main Percy Jackson & the Olympians summary too? It's Mountain of Despair there. I have trouble when getting into details of the first three books because I've actually only read them once. Good work on finding the name! PrincessofLlyr (talk) 22:30, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

Sure. I just added it to The Titan's Curse, so you can copy it instead of writing it all over again. I have trouble with details as well because in real life, I'm more of a Harry Potter fan so I tend to remember his stats better than Percy's :) Airplaneman talk 22:35, 20 January 2010 (UTC)
Done! I have trouble with the details because I tend to read one series and head straight to another. Which of course, leaves me spread out all over Wikipedia! Ranger's Apprentice, The Heir Trilogy, Just Ella, Palace of Mirrors (novel), and (of course) Warriors, are all articles that I keep an eye on. Oh, and I started branching into rating and GA review, which is a bit iffy. I may not do a lot with it until I feel more comfortable with Wiki's guidelines. You want to see my nastiest rating yet (which isn't very nasty compared to some), look at The Immortals (novel) and talk page. Or Wikipedia:WikiProject Novels/Assessment where it's listed in Requests. I felt a bit bad about that one. PrincessofLlyr (talk) 22:53, 20 January 2010 (UTC)
I'm the opposite, although I rarely reread books. I'm reluctant when it comes to starting books, but once I'm hooked, well... that's why I filled my eighth grade reading requirements for the year in two short months... About the article assessment: it is what it is. The assessment guidelines say everything. I've assessed more articles stub class than any other. I'm clearing out WP:MAC's backlog slowly. It used to be at, like, 400 or 300, but now it's down to 100. I'm also trying to do it for WP:NOVELS. There's a small number of 1401 that needs atttention.., Airplaneman talk 23:09, 20 January 2010 (UTC)
I read an approximate average of a book a day (total per year divided by 365), so they start to run together a bit. And I only reread books that I really, really liked. Maybe I'll have to look at the backlog of unknown importance articles. It might be a good activity for me; thanks for the link! PrincessofLlyr (talk) 23:36, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

Need some advice on an article name change

Hey Airplaneman,

There's an article about a Bollywood film star I was looking at -- but he changed his name recently -- removed one letter of it. Is typical procedure for this to use the 'move page' tool to a new page with the corrected name? Thanks! Rishi.bedi (talk) 04:21, 21 January 2010 (UTC)

Yes, anyone can do it (well, anyone with 5+ edits or something...) When you click "move page", there will be a box with the current listed name, and below it a place for you to type the new name into. Don't forget to explain your move (there'll be an input box for that). Happy editing, Airplaneman talk 05:38, 21 January 2010 (UTC)
Cool, thanks man! Just wanted to make sure that was SOP. Rishi.bedi (talk) 03:45, 22 January 2010 (UTC)

The Titan's Curse passed as a GA!

Congratulations! I know you won't see this for another day or two, but thanks for all your terrific work, both on Titan's Curse and all the PJ stuff. (BTW, when do you plan to run for admin? I'll support! Or I suppose, when would you accept a nomination?) PrincessofLlyr (talk) 17:13, 23 January 2010 (UTC)

Oh, great!!!!! Thanks for your help!!!!! Next is The Battle of the Labyrinth...
I'm not sure I want to run for adminship anytime soon. I think I need more experience, in the area of deletions especially. The whole thing seems so stressful (even the RfA part of it), and I'm not here for that. Anyways, I'm quite busy at the moment. I'm glad to hear that you'll support :). I appreciate it. Supernatural FAC

Hey, just letting you know that the article you copy-edited has been nominated for FA here. Ωphois 05:52, 26 January 2010 (UTC)

Cool; thanks for telling me. Airplaneman talk 00:06, 27 January 2010 (UTC)

I saw your name at the copyeditors guild page. I was wondering if you would like to copyedit this article for FAC. The lead has already been done, so everything after that needs checking. Thanks for your help. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 03:21, 27 January 2010 (UTC)

I'll take a look shortly. Nice to meet you! Airplaneman talk 04:38, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
Nice to meet you too and thanks. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 04:45, 27 January 2010 (UTC)

I noticed you added T:Prod-2. You may wish to comment on the AfD that is currently open at WP:Articles for deletion/Hiroshi Takeyasu‎. Just lettin' ya' know. --Izno (talk) 05:59, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
