[edit]

Can you guys please change Nicki Minaj photo on her Wikipedia page from 2010 to a updated one every other celeb has a updated photo Nicki Minaj needs one Ahshion1 (talk) 08:32, 6 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yes that’s why i asked can somebody change the photo for me because i can’t do it Ahshion1 (talk) 18:54, 6 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The photo must be under a free license. You can't just find a picture online and claim it to be under a free license; you must have evidence of the license. —C.Fred (talk) 00:55, 7 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Image without license

[edit]

Unspecified source/license for File:Nicki.Jpeg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Nicki.Jpeg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time after the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|cc-by-sa-4.0}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

The page File:Nicki.jpeg has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appeared to be a blatant copyright infringement of https://www.biography.com/musician/nicki-minaj. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition has been deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, you may contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you may open a discussion at Wikipedia:Deletion ReviewC.Fred (talk) 20:24, 6 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ok well since your deleting work why don’t you add a new photo her wikepedia page that people has been asking for ever Ahshion1 (talk) 20:26, 6 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Because finding a free image of her is not on my priority list. —C.Fred (talk) 20:36, 6 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) The files are being deleted because you are putting the Wikimedia Foundation in a legally culpable position by uploading copyrighted images. If there are no new free images available for an article then we use the ones we have that include the required licensing. Period. Please read the policies being provided to you in the messages above if you will be editing here.-- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 20:38, 6 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Also, please stop marking all of your edits as minor. Minor denotes edits that are simple typo corrections or reversion or vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. See Help:Minor Edit.-- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 20:41, 6 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add or change content without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Cornerstonepicker (talk) 02:40, 7 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Actually those are all reliable sources. It’s public and where i got the information is reliable sources that are articles. So you need to do your research on a artist before you write me. Thank you and i will be writing it again and citing the source Ahshion1 (talk) 02:43, 7 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You did not provide a reliable source with the claim from Forbes. You can't just cite the entire website; you need to cite the specific article/webpage where the statistic is found. —C.Fred (talk) 03:00, 7 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Further, chartdata.org is on the list of website to avoid, per WP:BADCHARTS. —C.Fred (talk) 03:02, 7 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It’s pretty obvious you cowards have a issue with Nicki Minaj that you keep trying to take away her accomplishments. Ahshion1 (talk) 02:45, 7 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If multiple editors are informing you that you are not using reliable sources (i.e. sourcing meeting WP:RS, not just whatever you can find online) to support your edits, the correct response is to listen to what they say and educate yourself, not to lash out. Any more of this type of behaviour will likely lead to a block, so you'd be better served by reading through the guidelines and policies that are being pointed out to you.-- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 19:52, 7 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop attacking other editors, as you did on Nicki Minaj. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. PHShanghai | they/them (talk) 10:53, 17 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. FMSky (talk) 00:45, 18 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Don't use misleading edit summaries

[edit]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, but a recent edit of yours has an edit summary that appears to be inadequate, inaccurate, or inappropriate. The summaries are helpful to people browsing an article's history, so it is important that you use edit summaries that accurately tell other editors what you did. Feel free to use the sandbox to make test edits. Thank you. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 23:04, 17 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 1 week for persistent additional of unsourced and poorly-sourced content to BLPs and long-term edit warring. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Ponyobons mots 17:22, 19 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding unreferenced or poorly referenced biographical content, especially if controversial, to articles or any other Wikipedia page, as you did at Lauren London. Content of this nature could be regarded as defamatory and is in violation of Wikipedia policy. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. --Hipal (talk) 21:03, 20 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of one month for the continued use of poor sourcing in BLPs and persistent edit warring despite a previous block for the same behaviour. This will be your last timed block; if you cannot understand the requirements for reliable sourcing and continue to edit war to add and restore disputed content, the next block will be indefinite. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Ponyobons mots 21:29, 20 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
