Contested deletion
[edit]This page should not be speedily deleted because... (your reason here) --Ahmed Bouzidi, French Biologist and Entrepreneur 20:40, 4 February 2016 (UTC) Dear Robert,
I am extremely surprised by your e-mail, considering that I suggested this biography after receiving an e-mail from one of your colleague, Miss Britney Davis (see e-mail below). I also have several colleagues, who wrote their own bio and are on Wikipedia. They followed very exactly the same process as I just did.
All information related to my bio is verifiable.
Best wishes, Ahmed Bouzidi

Dear Ahmed Bouzidi,
The page in question is not a published article but a page about the editor whose account it is.
These are not indexed by search engines.
As you may already know, Wikipedia is a collaborative encyclopedia written by its readers. The subjects for our articles are generally chosen by the editing community rather than by request. While there is a venue where you can request articles, a request for an article creation on oneself is likely to be declined. You can visit our 'requests for articles' page at <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requested_articles>.
It's also important to realise that Wikipedia strongly discourages articles written by the subjects themselves or by others close to a subject because of the difficulty in writing objectively about yourself, your family, or your work. Please see <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Autobiography> for our guidelines on writing about yourself or topics you are personally involved with. While keeping in mind conflict of interest issues, please note that if someone does create an article about you, you should feel more than welcome to edit the article to ensure that each piece of information is factual and complying with our "Biography of Living Persons" policy. This policy can be viewed at <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Biographies_of_living_persons>.
You may also like to read <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability_(people)> for a guideline on the type of articles that are generally accepted.
Thank you for your interest in Wikipedia and feel free to get back in touch with us with any further comments or questions. Yours sincerely, Robert Clark

Hello Mr. Bouzidi,
Wikipedia is the most trusted and preferred source of original content online. Therefore, it is not surprising why institutions, organizations and individuals opt for creating their Wikipedia page.
To increase your popularity online, it is recommended to create a Wikipedia page about yourself or your company and for a new Wikipedia page to go up, there are certain eligibility criteria. That means not everyone is immediately a good candidate to feature on Wikipedia.
Here are some benefits of having a Company or Personal Wikipedia Page:
1. Great exposure. Wikipedia is a heavily used web site, and having an article about your company means more exposure, more eyeballs, and so forth.
2. Reputation management. As I mentioned above, your Wikipedia article will probably rank on page one for your company name, and that helps with your online reputation management.
3. Increased trust. There’s no underestimating the need to earn trust, both from customers and search engines. A Wikipedia article can help with both, I believe.
Get in touch with us to find out if you're eligible to feature on Wikipedia with our Complimentary Wikipedia Eligibility Assessment Service.
Warm Regards

- I don't know who Britney Davis is, but in the passage above which you say you quoted from an email, "YourPRManager" indicates what sort of business she is in. She certainly did not write that email on behalf of Wikipedia or the Wikimedia Foundation, and if you were under the impression that she did, then you were misled. The advice she gave you is, from start to finish, completely contrary to several Wikipedia policies and guidelines. Unfortunately, there are unscrupulous businesses around which exist by taking money off people for promises of helping them to use Wikipedia to advertise themselves or their businesses, knowing full well both that what they are doing is contrary to Wikipedia's terms of use and also that there is a very good chance that the resulting Wikipedia pages will simply be deleted. I have no idea whether this is what has happened in your case, and as far as I know it may be that Britney Davis and "YourPRManager" are perfectly honest, and she just made a mistake in the advice she gave you, but I mention the fact to show that the fact that someone tells you that using Wikipedia as a medium for promotion does not mean that it is.
