Official River Codes

[edit]

Hi, I ("Fremdbinich") am new in the english version. I would like to contribute articles on rivers. Reading existing ones, I noticed an "Official River Code" - without any declaration of origin. Where does these coding come from ? Why isn't it used consequently for all rivers? Where can a list all all listed rivers be downloaded from? How to contribute to the list? Fremdbinich (talk) 17:46, 27 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - a stub template or category which you created has been nominated for deletion or renaming at Wikipedia:Stub types for deletion. The stub type, which was not proposed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals, does not meet the standard requirements for a stub type, either through being incorrectly named, ambiguously scoped, or through failure to meet standards relating to the current stub hierarchy or likely size, as explained at Wikipedia:Stub. Please feel free to make any comments at WP:SFD regarding this stub type, and in future, please consider proposing new stub types first! Grutness...wha? 00:38, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again - you wrote: I did not find where I have to post my response, therefore I post it on your discussion page.. As I said above, the place to post your response is at WP:SFD - specifically, at Wikipedia:Stub_types_for_deletion#.7B.7BGC-church-stub.7D.7D_.2F_Cat:Greek_Catholic_church_stubs. As for the comments you left on my user talk page, there is nothing discriminatory in noting the fact that GC-church-stub is not an appropriate name, given that GC is not normally associated primarily with the Greek Catholic church, nor with the fact that the stub type was never proposed, nor with the fact that there is not even an article on Greek Catholicism (it's a redirect), nor with the fact that the parent category does not have enough articles in it to assure that the stub will reach the required threshold, nor with the fact that the template is incorrectly formed. All of these are reason enough for the stub type to be considered for possible deletion, and all of which would also have been sorted out prior to the creation of the stub type if it had been proposed. Grutness...wha? 05:23, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dab vs. Tag on Riedel (surname)

[edit]

Thanks for your work on Riedel (surname). If you can remember w/o excessive effort, plz try not to put Category:Disambiguation on any main-namespace pages: instead plz use the appropriate template (which will take care of both the message and any Cats, which may include Category:Disambiguation pages but will always avoid the one you entered by hand. Tnx!

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:DanConstantinVasiliu.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Melesse (talk) 05:52, 11 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Filotti family

[edit]

Firstly, thank you for your message. According to some search I made, the name of the village "Φιλώτι" is derived from the Ionian "προσωνύμιο" (a word that substitutes the real name of a person) "Φιλώτης". You are right about the double "τ", I was just carried away, transliterating exactly what I was reading. About the "ς" in the end, it cannot be wrong. Male surnames in the Greek language always end in either "ς" or "ου". Villages and islands are quite often of neutral genre, that's why the name of the village in Naxos and the other islet end in "ι". As for the name of the church "Panagia Filotitissa", shows exactly that it is dedicated to Panagia of Filoti ("Filotitissa" being an adjective). The only way the name would end in simply "ι", would be if it was of non-Greek origin (first thing in mind are the Italian surnames). If we were about to use the exact transliteration of the Greek language in English, we would use "Filotis" for the male members of the family and "Filoti" for the female. But in practice we act differently. Compare Dora Bakoyannis for example; in Greek we call her Dora Bakoyannis, and it is grammatically wrong to add an "s" in the end. However, in English, the male ending preveals. I would suggest to change your correction in the respective article to "Φιλώτης". I am not doing it myself yet, waiting for reply. Hectorian (talk) 10:53, 7 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Done. I did not mind your question at all! Feel free to contact me about any subject you think I may be able to help. We'll keep in touch. Ciao. Hectorian (talk) 20:52, 7 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nevermind (was: Request for a slight edit)

[edit]

Hello. I'm becoming more active in working with articles having to do with choral music ensembles (choirs). I am one of the founders of ChoralNet.org and maintain a large directory of choir websites there, so I was looking at the List of choirs here and read a comment/complaint you posted on the Talk page two years ago having to do with the Cantamus Girls Choir being listed. Someone (anonymous editor/vandal from Ukraine) had added the word "f***ing" to title of the link and so your comment was under that title. I'll remove the vulgarity, because it wasn't a real title in the first place and not your own word, so I'm not violating WP "bad practice" rules....hence the "Nevermind" in this title, because I was originally asking you to remove the f-word.

IIUC, you're from Romania, correct? If so, please take a look at ChoralNet's (rather short) list of links to Romanian choir websites, Choirs in Romania, and see if you know of others that should be added. Some of those links are outdated/broken, and so maybe you could help me find their new websites? For example "Pro Musica Chamber Choir" is broken, as is The Choir of girls "Simbol," the National Chamber Choir Madrigal, and the SOUND choir (Bucharest). I can try to search for them, but it is more difficult because I don't speak Romanian. - DTinAZ (talk) 18:16, 18 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I saw that you posted some useful information on my Talk page--Thanks! DTinAZ (talk) 15:46, 20 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Tigva River

[edit]

I have nominated Tigva River, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Tigva River. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Categories

[edit]

Category:Romanian opponents to communism seems does not exist. Maybe we can create Category:Romanian anti-communist dissidents, which would be subcat of Category:Romanian dissidents, and include most but not all of its current content? Dc76\talk 05:22, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I am in the process of organizing some subcategories of Category:History of Romania and Category:Moldova. From my short experience I see two solutions:
1) simply put a number of articles both in Category:Romanian anti-communists and in Category:Romanian dissidents
2) create a new Category:Romanian anti-communist dissidents and make it subcategory of both; all articles that are at the intersection of the two sets would be moved to this category. This has the advantage of somewhat sorting through the articles and the advantage of not forgeting to "register" an anti-communist dissident both as anti-communist and as dissident. As I know from personal experience, the people who contribute content often fail to put the articles in all proper categories. At least I was doing so for over a year with almost all the articles I created or improved, and I have a feeling I was not alone in this.
Which solution you prefer? Obviously, there were anti-communists who were not dissidents and dissidents who were not anti-communists; so the inclusion is strict in both. Your example is definitevely correct. Dc76\talk 23:13, 22 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I buy into you arguments. They are perfectly reasonable. So, what I am going to say is about details and nuances. But yet, interesting ones:
1) While starting to work on Category:History of Romania I noticed that the organization of Category:History of Poland and Category:History of France was much more advanced and more thourough and thoughtful, and there were more artilce, of course. But then I also observed Category:History of Hungary is behind that of Romania. Even worse is Category:Moldova, which got me into this category business in the first place. I mention Poland and France because I use(d) (to some extent) their example as a guide for Romania and Moldova (plus I sometimes used Denmark, and rarely also USA). Baltics for example, are falling behind and are not such a good example to guide as in France, even if we find more similarities with them. So, there is one thing I noticed and I want to remind you about, although I am sure you are well aware of it: Categories are added when and as needed, and based on notability. The category tree is always growing in structure and content (although not necessarily also in complexity, since we can make it well-organized and thus decrease complexity). Some things are needed whenly when they are needed, but we should not be afraid to take the lead on 2-3 occasions (others have taken the lead on thousands of occasions before us, and we just copy and repeat their work). I would not count on other nations to arrive to issues of anti-communism and dissidents before us. Maybe only Poles and Russians. But why can not we overtake once in a while?
2) "Your second solution opens the door to very confusing categories." I would disagree here, because for a category to be opened, it must be notable as category. But the word dissident can only apply to people who perform very specific activities in dictatorial regimes. There were many anti-unionists, but there was no anti-unionist dissident, because there was no dictatorship. There were many anti-fascists, but we did not have a fascist regime. We did have a few anti-Carlist dissidents (Antonescu was one of them), and some anti-Antonescu dissidents (Maniu was one). Before that we did not have dictatures before 1937, and even so Antonescu and Maniu barely did a minimum to be called dissidents: we had no true dissidents like Goma or Blandiana or Cornea or Petrescu before communism. Dissidents by deffinition must be against a regime, not pro an ideology. From all other parts of Romanian history I cna think of, only Lapusneanu had a true dictatorial regime, and that only for a few years. But then the country was not even aware of the name of the domnitor (as you might remember from some novels), much less about a regim afecting anyone but a few boyars. The word dissident is only used to characterise individuals from 20th century on. - Just as you, I look at the other countries.
3) I can understand your worries, namely that Romanian dissidents minus Romanian anti-communist dissidents gets us a very tiny number. I am not a specialist, so I don't know much to argue. But anti-communist dissidents in anti-communists is only a tiny fraction.
4) I agree that we should think about this: Can we put Category:Romanian dissidents in Category:Dissidents by country. Yes, but for now only in Category:Dissidents, which is not yet fully grown to have a subcat "by country". Ditto for anti-communists. As for their intersection, not yet. So we should ask ourselves: Is Category:Anti-communist dissidents by country notable enough to appear one day? My personal answer is yes, but in long term.
5) You said "The problem of incomplete categories is general for Wikipedia (actually it is worse for many foreign language Wikis). However this cannot be a reason of incorrectly defining categories. Therefore, I strongly support your first alternative." Right. Again, right. I am glad you do.
But I think that you simply need time to convince yourself that in the long run we will need the second alternative. Take just one example: it is very odd Brucan sitting right next to Blandiana in the category dissidents. Some non-Romanian, or even worse a Romanian teenager could associate them in his mind, and those first impressions in one's mind are not changed for years, if at all.
Now, since we are for the time being at the first alternative, you have the chance of adding 20 to your edit count by correctly categorizing all articles in Category:Romanian Dissidents :-) Ok, I will help. You take the lead. Dc76\talk 01:57, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you sometimes have some time, and can help, please find here a fragment (in Romanian) I coppied (by hand) from the book Ion Nistor "Istoria Basarabiei", Chişinău, Cartea moldovenească, 1991, reprint of 3rd edition, Cernăuţi, 1923. The fragment contains some information that can find its way in several articles. Can you please help do that, i.e. write 1-2 sentances in different articles that come to your mind as logical? The idea is to enrich Wikipedia to contain the info in that fragment. But you need to think at ease where is more appropriate to be informative and non-repetitive.Dc76\talk 02:05, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much. Obvioulsy, only if it may interest you, don't feel obliged to do this. And obviously, it's not something that has to be done today. If on the other hand you know other editors who can help (out of interest in toppic or curriousity), feel free to pass the word. Maybe in the future to make more such instances, i.e. in someone's usespace we can from time to time add interesting text that can be quoted, and then other people can use it in editting. Maybe isn't such a good idea. Just trying a way to get more people to colaborate on pages I am usually editting. Dc76\talk 03:14, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I notice that this category is unpopulated (empty). In other words, no Wikipedia pages belong to (are members of) it. If it remains unpopulated for four days, it may be deleted, without discussion, in accordance with Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion#C1. I'm notifying you, the creator of the category, in case you wish to (re-)populate it by adding [[Category:Austrian landscape architecst]] to articles/categories that belong in it.

I have also blanked the category page. This will not, in itself, cause the category to be deleted. It serves to document (in the page history) that the category was empty at the time of blanking and also to alert other watchers that the category is in jeopardy. You are welcome to revert the blanking if you wish. However, doing so will not prevent deletion if the category remains empty.

If you created the category in error or it is no longer needed, you can speed up the deletion process by tagging it with {{db-author}}.

Speedy deletion of The White Horse (pub)

[edit]

A tag has been placed on The White Horse (pub) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Fair use rationale for File:Bidford New York.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Bidford New York.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You are now a Reviewer

[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 18:21, 15 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Need your advise on this one. I ran into the article on this distinguished gentleman writing about the battleships (part of WP:OMT) ... it startled me! The bulk of the article is dedicated to two pleasure voyages. The part on his Navy stint appears complimentary, at times even emphatic. But it's an encyclopedia, not a copy of the Gotha Almanac. The reality was not as rosy: his fleet went down in the first major war. "His" fleet could be an overstatement: for the most of his tenure he lived in Paris.

Here are two questions:

  • shouldn't the American and perhaps Japanese affairs be split into separate articles, for a better balance inside the main bio?
  • what would be a proper way to tone the article down from an outright apology to a neutral tone (short of a radical rewrite)?

I'm not going to jump on this poor rich old Duke in the nearest future, just being concerned with non-neutral presentation.

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Afil! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot notifying you on behalf of the the unreferenced biographies team that 1 of the articles that you created is currently tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 3 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

A tag has been placed on Călina River requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. non-notable

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Familypedia

[edit]

Don't forget to migrate copies of your articles on biographies to Familypedia. It is hosted by Wikia and is designed to have biographical articles that may not meet the threshold of notability at Wikipedia. You can just cut and paste the whole biography, but will have to upload the images again. You can also back up to Knol and another excellent place is Geni.com. --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 16:56, 13 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I added here under her maiden name, as is the rule in Familypedia: Maria Ligia Vasiliu

Re: Mulţumesc

[edit]

- Biruitorul Talk 18:23, 14 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Now, what exactly was the point of that comment? Putting aside Dahn, you and me, 5 users voted for deletion, and none for retention. It's not as though my own vote pushed the result over the edge. And everyone who did vote came to the same conclusion: that the article subject failed to meet WP:N, and thus deserved deletion. Look, I'm not trying to be callous here. I do think highly of you and of Mrs. Filotti, and I owe you a personal debt of gratitude for certain things. I've forgotten none of that. However, I draw a line when it comes to articles on non-notable figures, no matter how close they are to you. There, I try to judge fairly and impartially, and for the third (and I hope final) time, I expect you'll be able to see the difference between me-as-individual and me-as-Wikipedia-editor-assessing-notability. - Biruitorul Talk 23:00, 23 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Eugenia Filotti Atanasiu.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Eugenia Filotti Atanasiu.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude2 (talk) 04:08, 18 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest that you take the issue with Eugenia Filotti Atanasiu to Deletion Review for further consideration. If restored, the image can be replaced there easily. Skier Dude (talk) 03:25, 21 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Dispute Resolution Process

[edit]

Hello, Afil. I've noticed that you have taken a step in the Dispute Resolution Process by posting in WQA. Please note that it is recommended that you advise the other party of your complaint filing so that they are aware of it, and so that they have a chance to respond.

If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. , and please sign your posts. Thanks! Gerardw (talk) 19:23, 28 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Given your complaint at Wikipedia:Wikiquette_alerts#User_Biruitorul let me add my comment: I can see why you feel aggrieved, but you should be aware that Wikipedia is operating "as it should". An encyclopedia collates knowledge from trustworthy sources elsewhere, it is not a publisher of first resort.
  1. See WP:V: "The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth." That is, to maintain the integrity of the the encyclopedia, everything must be demonstrably correct and stand up to scrutiny.
  2. See WP:GNG: "If a topic has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, it is presumed to satisfy the inclusion criteria". That is, if no other publication considers the subject noteworthy then nor does Wikipedia.
Your assertion that "the first criterion for notability of a person should be the achievements of that person, and not only the extent of coverage which should come second" is directly at odds with Wikipedia's core principles. That is absolutely not to say that you should not contribute your articles to Wikipedia, but you should (a) familiarise yourself more with Wikipedia policies and evaluate these subjects according to those, not your own beliefs, and (b) tailor your contributions so that they clearly and unequivocally demonstrate that they do satisfy those requirements.
It is very difficult to evaluate a subject objectively if you have a WP:COI. If consensus is that your articles do not meet inclusion criteria, there are Wikipedia:Alternative outlets where they will be most welcome.
And, of course, all the above is my own personal view - not a statement of absolute truth. RichardOSmith (talk) 21:40, 28 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Also, please note the instruction around the closed discussion: "The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section". My advice is to follow the instruction rather than remove it. RichardOSmith (talk) 21:56, 28 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Anton Erhard Martinelli

[edit]

Hello!

Can I ask you a question, from which source comes this ( http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Anton_Erhard_Martinelli&diff=prev&oldid=246203695 ) your edits? Mention of Martinelli's participation in the construction of the castle Berolákovo I found nowhere in the literature, but is probable. If it exists, please source your statement. (A. E. Martinelli is the theme of my university thesis) --Šandík (talk) 17:01, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I understand. This information but does have to come from any source. Only available text (online and in printed literature known to me) to Martinelli's participate in the construction Bernolákovo castle is your article on Wikipedia. There could be some mistake? A. E. Martinelli is clearly built a castle in the nearby Velký Biel (Magyarbél).--Šandík (talk) 12:42, 10 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion contested: Hector Roy Maclean, 5th Laird of Coll

[edit]

Hello Afil, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Hector Roy Maclean, 5th Laird of Coll, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The reason given is not a valid speedy deletion criterion. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. Bmusician 04:23, 21 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You created a page at Imre River in 2008 with the description that it was a "headwater of the Pietroasa River". The page was turned into a redirect in 2011. That redirect has now been nominated for deletion because it's existence can not be confirmed. Would you please join the conversation at RfD? Thanks. Rossami (talk) 23:53, 27 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please revisit the conversation: I suggested a solution you might like. Staszek Lem (talk) 01:52, 30 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of METRIC

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on METRIC requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Satara district, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Wai (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Location map Hungary Jasz-Nagykun-Szolnok

[edit]

Re: your speedy deletion nomination of Location map Hungary Jasz-Nagykun-Szolnok and subsequent recreation of it at Template:Location map Hungary Jasz-Nagykun-Szolnok, I should note that it is possible to move pages across namespaces. You do this by using the "move" function the same way as you would to rename an article, and you just set the namespace dropdown to the desired namespace, and it moves the page there.

Meanwhile, I've stitched the histories of the two pages together on the template title. Please ensure that the right revision is showing on top. SchuminWeb (Talk) 03:26, 14 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
