Minangkabau
[edit]Hi, please stop adding the information about Minanga tamwan. It is pure speculation that it has any connection to Minangkabau; there are dozens of theories about what Minanga tamwan refers to. I don't know of any university historians who would say that it is the case, and none of the Minangkabau books I have include this. The 14th century is the earliest point of history of which there is some certain historical information relating to central Sumatran highland people (ie. Minangkabau). Furthermore, please don't use blogs as references on Wikipedia, they are not reliable source. (Caniago (talk) 10:28, 18 January 2008 (UTC))

Lists
[edit]Thanks - I think creating new articles for lists like you did here is a good idea, rather than inserting the list into a prose article. Nice work.
Also, make sure you keep good standards with reliable references. thanks! --Merbabu (talk) 12:37, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
A tag has been placed on Warkop, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}}
to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Ecoleetage (talk) 12:55, 24 September 2008 (UTC)
A tag has been placed on Warkop requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guidelines for people and for organizations.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Notability of Afgan Syah Reza
[edit]A tag has been placed on Afgan Syah Reza requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. tomasz. 15:58, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Overseas Indonesian
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Overseas Indonesian, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:
- I can't see this article developing into anything useful. The term 'overseas indonesian' is not a phrase, entity or classification - and WP is not a dictionary. The facts given are unreferenced and unsubstantiated; information about settlement in Madagascar belongs in a different article (and is probably there).
All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. I will be challenging the prod and the article as soon as I am able SatuSuro 10:24, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
Sorry
[edit]I have seen not a single comment by you on any talk regarding any of the issues above - it is a problem to defend an uncommunicative editor's actions - I have no interest if you cannot try to either talk at all in WP en - if you are capable of writing english articles - you should be able to explain yourself in english. Simply adding onto a contested article with no comment is hardly adequate for any editor wondering what is going on. To have a reasonable chance of surviving in WP en- you must work out how to use talk and explain yourself - otherwise the warnings given above in this talk page will simply come true - you will put time into articles and they will get deleted and no one will be the wiser what is going on. Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Afandri Adya! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 3 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 8 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:
- Bachtiar Chamsyah - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
- Camelia Malik - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL

While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Overseas Minangkabau until a consensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.
You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Sumbuddi (talk) 12:20, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
Nomination of Afrizal Malna for deletion
[edit]The article Afrizal Malna is being discussed concerning whether it is suitable for inclusion as an article according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Afrizal Malna until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. bender235 (talk) 14:59, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
The article Marshanda has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Replaceable fair use File:West Bekasi.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:West Bekasi.png. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Steel1943 (talk) 03:42, 15 October 2015 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Orang Minang.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Orang Minang.jpg, which you've attributed to A source and license is required for each photo in the montage. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Diannaa (talk) 19:35, 18 October 2015 (UTC)

Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Ways to improve Mohamed Taib bin Haji Abdul Samad
[edit]Hi, I'm Pixarh. Afandri Adya, thanks for creating Mohamed Taib bin Haji Abdul Samad!
I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. You should add notable sources to strengthen your article. Articles sourced weakly tend to get easily deleted. In case you require help, you can reach me at my talk page.
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. Pixarh (talk) 17:29, 8 December 2015 (UTC)
