Recent addition
[edit]I noticed this addition you made to the article on US 76 in Georgia. In looking over what you added, I noticed several things. I'd like to bring them to your attention as a way to help you improve your writing.
- In standard written English, we don't capitalize many of the words you capitalized. Only proper names or proper nouns get that treatment unless a word starts a sentence. Starting at the very first sentence, "The Highway enters...", we would not capitalize the word "highway". Many, many other words were capitalized in that addition, and they needed to be dropped to lower case.
- When we have a single highway with multiple overlapping designations, like "US 76/US 41/SR 3", the is still a single highway. We treat that as a singular name, not a plural. In other words, that highway is an "it" not a "they". That's a "highway" not "highways" because it's still a single roadway.
- We have a style guide for certain formatting conventions used on Wikipedia called our "Manual of Style". One of its sections, MOS:HEAD describes how we format headings and subheadings in an article. Based on its rules, we don't use the same capitalization rules for a heading as we do in a sentence. Thus, "Georgia state line to Rocky Face". "Georgia" is a proper name, as is "Rocky Face", but "state line" is just a common noun.
- The text also overuses the word "concurrency". The text should be edited to reduce the number of times that somewhat technical term is used. Some of the uses could be confusing to readers by calling the subject of the article "the concurrency".
I hope this helps. If you have questions, please reply here, and I'll try to help you some more. Imzadi 1979 → 08:28, 8 February 2024 (UTC)
- Many of these issues were also present in your addition to the US 29 article. I cleaned up after you, but I will also note that your writing is straying into excessive detail. We don't need a recitation of every major junction in the prose. That's what the junction list table at the end of the article is for. Several US Highways in Georgia have excessively long route descriptions, and I think you're on track to repeat that issue. What's also concerning is that we aren't getting much description of the landscapes along the highway, just a dry listing of the junctions and concurrencies in prose format.
- I'll also note that it's unnecessary to include I-85's hidden state route designation. It's not signed. Drivers on I-85 don't know about it, and frankly, outside of the I-85 article, our readers don't care.
- Once again, I hope this feedback helps. Imzadi 1979 → 19:56, 19 May 2024 (UTC)
Interstate 420
[edit]I searched Interstate 420 in Pennsylvania, and no results happen. Is there document proof of I-420 in PA being planned? It’s it made up? If there is, should it be added to I-20’s VTE page, since I can’t edited that? 69.1.59.248 (talk) 23:46, 8 February 2024 (UTC)
- Is it related to Pennsylvania State Route 420? That’s what it came up from my search result. 69.1.59.248 (talk) 00:03, 9 February 2024 (UTC)
Your recent edit to Interstate 95
[edit]Hello, I've reverted your edit to Interstate 95 because the disambiguation links to other pages are unnecessary. Typically, we only list disambiguation links if the article is about the interstate or U.S. Highway in a single state. However, I've been noticing a trend in your other edits, in which some of them have been reverted by other editors.
In future, please do not make edits like this to main interstate or U.S. Highway articles unless it's about them in one state, as it's rather considered disruptive and interrupts the flow of the article. Thank you. NoobThreePointOh (talk) 22:41, 11 April 2024 (UTC)

- disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
- disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
- is an orphaned redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that does not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Safari ScribeEdits!
