The article DJ Adam Sky has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Cahk (talk) 15:25, 29 July 2016 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of DJ Adam Sky
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on DJ Adam Sky requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://allevents.in/singapore/bang-bang-pres-adam-sky-aus-friday-22nd-july/1506541106030099#. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. McGeddon (talk) 19:13, 29 July 2016 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not write or add to an article about yourself. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.
If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.

I think this user account has been incorrect blocked. The article in mention is a biography for an artist. I can't see why it is seen as advertising - many other DJ's and producers of notability, have wiki entries. Also, isn't the sandbox intended to be used as just that, an editing sandbox?
Decline reason:
You have to be logged-in to make unblock request. We do not consider unblock requests made by anonymous IP editors. Vanjagenije (talk) 11:39, 3 August 2016 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I think this user account / page has been incorrectly blocked. The article in mention is a music an artist. I can't see why it is seen as advertising given hundreds of other other DJ's and producers of notability, have wiki entries. Also, isn't the sandbox intended to be used as just that, an editing sandbox? I'm new and I may be missing something but I thought creating it in the sandbox was correct? I've been now blocked / deleted fro several reasons which make little sense ... first one was due to references missing but I was mid creation! Second one was because someone else out on the 'net had similar text to what was included in the Wiki article, it was deemed copy right violation - even though the original content is owned by the artist in mention and ironically the page that was being said to be the owner of the information was infact not. Please help rather than keep deleting pages, or point me to where I can maintain a sandbox to make edits and create the page
Decline reason:
"one of the most charted and supported artists in Asia", "has stamped his name at some of the world’s leading festivals and night clubs", "had amassed a large fanbase through social media" - if you cannot see why that would be considered an advertisement, your conflict of interest is too strong to write neutrally about this topic. Also, spam is not acceptable anywhere on Wikipedia. Reliable third-party sources in your draft that cover the subject in some detail: Zero. Huon (talk) 20:26, 3 August 2016 (UTC)

I really don't understand this. It would be more helpful if you were giving specific pointers rather than making assumptions about topics that you are not clear on. The references included not being reliable? I dont understand that either - Beatport, and numerous magazine interviews - how are they not considered reliable? They are 3rd party and the beatport site is used globally my music artists and punters alike. Beatport is probably the biggest online music distribution site around. I take your point on the 'advertisement' items - whilst I think thats stretching things a little too far, I can see from your perspective based on the guidelines. I can edit that. But the reliable sources...

- I'm sorry, I didn't notice that you were writing about yourself. You may want to take a look at WP:Autobiography; that's strongly discouraged because it's very hard to maintain a neutral point of view when doing so. Also, interviews are you speaking about yourself, not third-party coverage of you. I don't see that Beatport has a single sentence of human-written content about you, and even if it had, it's selling your music and thus has a financial interest in promoting you. It's not a reliable source. We're looking for newspapers or reputable music magazines reporting on you in some detail, sources that are subject to editorial oversight and have a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy. Request reason:
Ok this is starting to be clearer now. I'll look at the Autobiog link shortly. On Beatport, there is bio material there but its not independant, i get that, and I understand the point on financial interests. Seems though that the policy doesn't fit for music industry as Beatport is considered to be one of the industry yard sticks for charts ... much like Billboard. The links I included for interviews are the magazines interviewing me, not me writing or interviewing myself. Not sure why that impression was made. They are some of the leading industry magazines in Asia ... I-S, Timeout and Juice are global music industry magazine brands

Your stated interests, and your inability to understand WP:COI are too big of concerns for me to unblock you at this time. — Coffee // have a cup // beans // 11:05, 5 August 2016 (UTC)
