Please can you not delete our picture/photo. I emailed wikipedia 2weeks ago and it belongs to our company and we wish to use it.
Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Acrosstheriver21, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Draft:Across the River and into the Trees (film), which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.
To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)
In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

File permission problem with File:Across the river Tribune Pictures London.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Across the river Tribune Pictures London.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

Across the River and Into the Trees (film) moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Across the River and Into the Trees (film), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Block notice
[edit]You may request a change of name and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions other than promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:
- Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
{{unblock|Your reason here}}

[edit]I am one of the main producers on this film and i generated the page. An editor at wikipedia called https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Some_Dude_From_North_Carolina has repeatedly vandalised our page and now asked a friend of his to block me. He keeps writing wholly inacurate information on the page then deleting what I have written. This has happened over 10x How can this individual be stopped? The accusation that I am promoting or advertising is fully wrong in as we have professional companies to do that for us. I have merely generated a page that accurately outlines factually something we have produced. I have supplied several times industry press articles proving everthing I have written. It is not correct (legally or otherwise) that an amateur individual such as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Some_Dude_From_North_Carolina should be able to pretend he has more information over a project he has absolutely zero connection with. This is potentially damaging to the producers and companies who are directly involved with the production epecially which cost many many millions of dollars to produce. This person https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Some_Dude_From_North_Carolina is potentially causing damage to over 200 professionals who have worked on this project AND during the pandemic.
I have repeated supplied citations and professional references which absoluetly prove everything I have stated, yet this individual has failed to respond to them but repeatedly vandalised our page based only on what they believe.
What's even more troublesome is that I provided proof of the current cast yet he keeps deleting then adding actors that were mentioned in the press but were never actually cast. This person https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Some_Dude_From_North_Carolina should be stopped. They are not a film professional, they are not related to the project and are not related to the owners or organisation and therefore are not qualified to make changes to a page generated by the producers.Acrosstheriver21 (talk) 21:04, 1 March 2021 (UTC)
What is also another problem is that what should have perhaps taken just one hour to generate a page on a project is now eating up up into my valuable time because of the trouble caused by https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Some_Dude_From_North_Carolina is there some way to charge all of this time to this individual or will this require legal court action? Incorrectly Blocked - Across the River and into the Trees (film)
[edit]Acrosstheriver21 (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
I am one of the key producers on this project and started the page. Everything I have stated is correct and i have provided evidence of this. Everything stated by User talk:Some Dude From North Carolina is incorrect and that person is not connected to me or our project in anyway at all Acrosstheriver21 (talk) 21:21, 1 March 2021 (UTC)
Decline reason:
To be unblocked, please follow the instructions in the block notice to make a request that also proposes a new username. I think you have several misunderstandings about Wikipedia. Wikipedia is a volunteer project, maintained by volunteer editors. One does not have to be an expert or involved in the subject matter they are writing about, as Wikipedia summarizes what independent reliable sources state. Please be aware of no legal threats. While we cannot stop you from pursuing legal action, you cannot make legal threats on Wikipedia. You can pursue your grievances in the courts or on Wikipedia, but not both.
Please also review conflict of interest and paid editing. If there is incorrect information in article about your film, we want to know what it is and work wit you, but such changes must be proposed as edit requests. Please also understand that the Daily Mail is not considered to be an acceptable source on Wikipedia(see this link). Please describe how your edits will be consistent with these policies I have outlined, and describe any edits unrelated to your conflict of interest that you wish to make. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 21:36, 1 March 2021 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
- Please read WP:NLT and WP:NPA. Don't make legal threats, and don't accuse user:Some Dude From North Carolina of vandalism. You have already been pointed to WP:COI. If you want to edit this article then read that and the other links and follow the instructions. You
will notare unlikely to be unblocked unless you retract the legal threat, and even if you are unblocked you will need to follow the conflict of interest guidelines. That means proposing changes to the article on its talk page so that other editors (with no conflicts of interest) can evaluate the changes and supporting sources. We want the article to be neutral and correct, but it's not your article and you do not get to control the content. We go by what reliable sources have to say about it. Meters (talk) 21:29, 1 March 2021 (UTC)- And if by
Everything I have stated is correct and i have provided evidence of this.
you mean the list of Daily Mail references you added here [2], you have already been pointed to WP:DAILYMAIL. The use of the Daily Mail as a reference is deprecated. It is generally not considered a reliable source. You would need to provide some other (reliable) source for the information, and insert the sources inline in the text. Meters (talk) 21:39, 1 March 2021 (UTC)
- And if by
- @Acrosstheriver21: I just want to say that for the record, Across the River and Into the Trees (film) isn't your page. Anyone can edit Wikipedia, but they have to do so by following some simple rules. It doesn't matter if you're the main point of the article or someone who helped make it, you don't own it. (You do realize most film articles aren't made by the companies who made the film, right?) Furthermore, I didn't ask a "friend" to block you, I gave you a warning that your edit sounded like a WP:PROMO, and that Daily Mail couldn't be used because Wikipedia prohibits it. Also, do you think Wikipedia serves as a scholarly source where misinformation can lead to "legal court action"? Editors like myself are adding reliable sources to back up our claims, from sources such as The Hollywood Reporter and Variety, websites Wikipedia has found to be reliable for the film industry. If you have proof Giancarlo Giannini was wrongly cast, or if you're actually connected to the project, maybe set up an interview with a reliable journalist from a reliable platform to say just that, so Wikipedia can say that, in fact, Giancarlo Giannini was incorrectly cast. Because, by the sounds of it, it's kinda hard to believe a producer would vandalize Wikipedia multiple times by using promotional language and Daily Mail, a tabloid so obviously unreliable, that they had to be blocked. Anyway, good luck with your movie, if you are who you say you are, and tell Paula Ortiz that I'll probably watch the film when it comes out. Goodbye. Some Dude From North Carolina (talk) 21:50, 1 March 2021 (UTC)
- Giancarlo Giannini is not in the film. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5652768/ See the date here and content https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/danny-huston-joins-liev-schreiber-hemingway-adaptation Danny Huston replaced him.
- The Daily mail is not prohibted but only deemed unreliable. However when a film is covered upto 3x per week such as ACROSS THE RIVER with photographs and the DM was chosen by the producers to cover the film, that clearly proves it can be relied upon. Acrosstheriver21 (talk) 17:20, 4 March 2021 (UTC)
- @Acrosstheriver21: IMDb is not a reliable source per WP:IMDB since it can be edited by anyone without citing sources. Additionally, the source from The Hollywood Reporter provided does not say that the cast member was replaced. Some Dude From North Carolina (talk) 17:51, 4 March 2021 (UTC)

- Yes clear bullying, intimidation and now blocking our company officers from further editing our own business project. I came on here to merely generate a page for our new film and I have to contend with this insanity and vandalism from people not connected to our project and then you dictate that we cannot manage our own page. You editors have hijacked our business project page. Unbelieveable.Acrosstheriver21 (talk) 19:11, 5 March 2021 (UTC)

- COMMENT FOR ANY ADMIN READING THIS CONVERSATION: Various IP users and new users have started vandalizing the article in question by adding the same content this user had been adding before their block (this could potentially be the same person or agency). One of them, IP 85.42.95.70, has just threatened me by saying that I will be "served with legal proceedings for damages and misinformation". - For the most basic of things to give you, please take a look at Wikipedia:No legal threats. For a "professional" producer to make a threat against someone who they don't know for the belief that they own an article on Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, is just baffling. Then for them to make multiple accounts, or have someone make personal accounts to break several laws on the website, such as citing unreliable sources, and continuing to disrupt the site, and then for them to start a discussion where they lack a sense of grammar, WP:SHOUT at other users, and then say that they'll have to introduce "lawyers" for not being able to have a source that says an actor was replaced. You literally had millions of options and choose the worst one. You could of simply had a verified Twitter or Instagram account say your claim and we could of used it or you could of just set up an interview with a reliable source, but you decided to make a legal threat. Truly a baffling moment on the Internet, which has already been archived by none other than me via archive.today. Some Dude From North Carolina (talk) 19:19, 5 March 2021 (UTC)

[edit]You greatly misunderstand Wikipedia, as it is not a place for people to make and exclusively control "pages", but a place for independent editors to summarize what independent reliable sources state. Instead of working with us, you chose to make threats instead. When you choose to withdraw the threats, or the actions are resolved, you may request unblock as described above. Please see WP:LEGAL for more information. 331dot (talk) 19:17, 5 March 2021 (UTC)
