Welcomes
I just checked in for the day and spied over recent changes. I see 2 welcome efforts from yourself. You're creating some serious dust for me to ride through. :) How did that award submission go? I'll help out if needed? -- Longhair | Talk 06:28, 2 August 2005 (UTC)
- I'm a known artistic failure. Photoshop and I don't agree, ever. :) I'm 70/30 on copyright issues, and may be able to help if you find something suitable, but with such a lively community here, I bet all it'd take is a timely suggestion and somebody will have a logo ready in no time. I'm doing other things at the moment, but once I get a chance I'll drum up a proposal and let you see the draft. -- Longhair | Talk 06:36, 2 August 2005 (UTC)
Thanks for the welcome Form letter. cullen 08:04, 2 August 2005 (UTC)

Hi Ryan, Thanks for coming back and for fixing my Babel. I had wondered how to get it all into one box. Simple when you know how. I appreciate your help and will come back if I get stuck. Thanks again.(Ynysgrif 07:36, 2 August 2005 (UTC))
Further thanks
Thanks, Ryan, I'll almost certainly need your help in the future. Avalon 12:49, 2 August 2005 (UTC)
Thanks for the welcome
Hi Ryan, thanks for welcoming me as a new user - I'm very pleased that you took the time, and will look through the information you pasted with interest. Regards M1thag0 12:52, 2 August 2005 (UTC)
Thanks for the message
I read your welcome message. Thanks for the welcome and I'll be fine around Wikipedia. I've actually been hanging around a while, except my IP was used for spamming or vandalism so I decided I was never going to gain any credibility by remaining anonymous. Thanks for the concern, it's much appreciated. P 13:26, 2 August 2005 (UTC)
Thanks for the welcome
Hiya, thanks for the welcome you posted on my talk page.
I've actually had a Wikipedia account for a while, and have made some minor corrections to articles (generally just correcting links to disambiguation pages) and added some redirects, but haven't contributed in a major way. I don't imagine I ever will, since I don't have a great depth of knowledge on any one subject, nor do I trust my ability to write in a NPOV style. Stephenw32768 17:27, 2 August 2005 (UTC)
Thanks for the nice welcome
Hi Ryan! Thanks for the nice welcome message. Why do you use Acetic Acid as a nom de plume? I took organic chemistry, so it triggered a flashback...--my3seadogs 19:59, 2 August 2005 (UTC)
Acetic acid is one of the most useful of the organic acids (not to mention that vinegar contains it), so you did pick a good name. Good luck with homework! I actually liked chem better in high school than I did in college; my teacher was better.
College chemistry isn't necessarily a torture, though some of the courses were pretty hard if you're not good at memorizing long lists of facts and figures. College inorganic is pretty much the same as high school inorganic, so if you're doing well now, you should do well then. Organic was a little more challenging, but not as hard as the hype would let you believe. I liked lab better than classroom. Physical chemistry (a.k.a. p-chem) was really hard, but I felt like a Spartan for having survived it. You'll do fine.--my3seadogs 20:17, 2 August 2005 (UTC)
Thanks for the welcome
Hi. I hope I can help building en.wikipedia, specially in interwinkis and Brazil related articles. Bye.

Welcome?
Thanks for the welcome, I guess. You said, "I noticed that you were new..." Hardly! But it's a great pick-up line. It's interesting that we both have acid in our usernames. Oh, and I didn't know about the four tildes. Thanks for the info. -- Lousyd 01:10, 3 August 2005 (UTC)
Thanks
I was also a bit surprised to be welcomed, but thanks anyway ;). Maybe I should try to be a bit more active? -- Stephenh 08:28, 3 August 2005 (UTC)
Wow! You sure are a friendly one!
Thanks for your welcome - I realise I am just one of many newbies you have welcomed to the wacky world of Wikipedia! There should be a Barnstar for "most hospitable Wikipedian" - you'd get my vote! Brisvegas 08:50, 3 August 2005 (UTC)
- Interestingly enough, there is just such a barnstar, and I am happy to be the one to award it. Good work, and if you need any help with unruly users, you know where to find me. -- Essjay · Talk 09:12, August 3, 2005 (UTC)
- Moved Barnstar to user page. Ryan 12:12, August 3, 2005 (UTC)
Glad to hear it helped lower your WikiStress! There seems to be quite a problem over CSD, as MTG & I both got bitten (albiet, he had two legs, both "cheeks", and an arm ripped off, while I was just nipped on the ankle) over our deletions. I say find something else to do, and let the biters deal with the backlog at CSD. Anywho, thank you for the welcome (particularly considering the discussion being held at the Welcoming Committee page) and good work, all around. -- Essjay · Talk 09:38, August 3, 2005 (UTC)
- You may be an overzealous welcomer, and you should be careful, for the Welcomer-whackers will be along shortly to bite you! Seriously, though, the whole discussion between Who, Red, & I got started because of what was said at the Welcoming Committee page. I'm hoping you knew we were kidding, and didn't think I was a real newbie; I mean, I'm an admin after all, and I might have to block you indefinitely for such an insult! ; - ) -- Essjay · Talk 10:02, August 3, 2005 (UTC)
Oh, that's right, I did block you! I forgot that you were that naughty page move vandal. (See, I told you I would forgive and forget!) Well, I'm glad we didn't have you confused, and glad to have the welcome. Also, you've made the list. -- Essjay · Talk 10:18, August 3, 2005 (UTC)
WHO HAS THE BEST SIGNATURE?
I'm sick of your colorful, better than though sig. It makes me cry. Please conform to the norm and simplify it. Thanks. Ryan 09:23, August 3, 2005 (UTC)
P.S. Pink is so not your color anyway. Cheers. :D
Hehe.. Oh, is that pink? I thought it was more of a puce ;-) Who 09:32, 3 August 2005 (UTC) <g> ∞Who?¿? 09:32, 3 August 2005 (UTC)
Oh yea, I thought puce was brighter than that. I didn't even know wiki had colors on here, much less the true defition. Flea-blood, ;) well I guess that's better than being thought of as dog-shite coloured, I'll try not to use the dark brown colors. ∞Who?¿? 09:41, 3 August 2005 (UTC)
:::Fine, no brown is a decent compromise. I guess I can ignore those damn neon question marks, for now. Ryan 09:50, August 3, 2005 (UTC)
Ooh, now that's one I know about neon is technically the spectrum of color given off by neon gas when in a charged state, and the majority of "neon" lights are not really the color neon. But I would have to agree that the "pink" one is close to neon. :) ∞Who?¿? 09:53, 3 August 2005 (UTC)
I guess I can ignore those damn neon question marks for now. That's going in the hall of fame with my electric bidet comment on Wikipedia:Blocked users can edit their own talk page. ; - ) -- Essjay · Talk 10:04, August 3, 2005 (UTC)
Noble? And all they did was exist, why can't I be noble? Oh wait, I am, aren't I? Hmm. Duke ∞Who?¿? of Florida. 10:08, 3 August 2005 (UTC)
Help Please
Good evening (I'm in Australia.) A.A. I said I'd need help, and I do!
I'm a bit of a mediaeval history buff.
I have looked at the Robert Brackenbury article. It contains what I think is a factual error. (That Sir Robert was not killed in battle at Bosworth Field in 1485.) I have 3 primary sources indicating he did and certainly that he did is the accepted wisdom amongst historians.
Do I just "charge in" and change the article? Do I mention my concerns in the discussion page first?
Secondly, is there a "spell-checker" tied into the edit feature?
What is the etiquette? Avalon 10:11, 3 August 2005 (UTC)
Your welcome
Thanks for the welcome, but I'm not new. I'm a sockpuppet, but a benign one. Ghost of Christmas Past 11:46, 3 August 2005 (UTC)
Thanks !
Thanks for the welcome Ryan. I think I will enjoy my stay. Hope to see you around. K.Nevelsteen 12:02, 3 August 2005 (UTC)
Rescue
Happy to come to the rescue! And now, I am going to do things in the real world. I'll catch you later! -- Essjay · Talk 17:43, August 3, 2005 (UTC)
Excellent!
You've been on here a little over a week, but you have done so much. Have a barnstar. D. J. Bracey (talk) 00:18, 4 August 2005 (UTC)
- Tranferred to user page so everyone can see how wonderful I am. ;o Ryan 00:41, August 4, 2005 (UTC)
I'd like to award you this saftey pin, just in case getting all these barnstars makes it difficult to pass through doors... ; - ) -- Essjay · Talk 02:17, August 4, 2005 (UTC)
- Safety pin moved to user page. Ryan 15:06, August 4, 2005 (UTC)
Howdy
Thanks for the welcome wagon. You're right, it is a little different on here, but I think I'm getting the hang of it. I looked at the process, and actually dissected a few of the ones I added to before saving them to see what the notations and such did. Thanks for the info, I'm sure it will be super useful. Onward, eh?
Mmmmmmmbo
Alrighty then,

Lance
I've left a message suggesting that you & Red both need to go to WikiChurch; I'm beginning to worry about you, if noble gasses & Lance Bass in leather get you excited...I'm sure you and Red can share Lance, but I'm putting my foot down: I get Justin! -- Essjay · Talk 02:20, August 4, 2005 (UTC)
¡Muchas Gracias!
Ryan: thanks for the warm welcome, it's almost as good as a cold beer. I think I need to add more bookmarks so I don't blow the next few edits. In any event, I've got oodles of photos that I should start uploading to the Wikipedia Commons...

Thanks for the welcome and tips
Suddenly I'm more clued in! I've been around a while, making small revisions to some articles but only signed up with an account a few days ago when I decided to add an entry for my relatively remarkable hometown of Cloughjordan.
Thanks again for the smorgasbord of info and tips!
