Why did you create a userpage for User:Rankedchoicevoter? And why did you remove a warning left 5 years ago on another user's Talk page? Both of your edits are disruptive.--Bbb23 (talk) 16:16, 6 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Local election information

[edit]

Hello,

Rather than getting into an edit war, I should explain the reasons why I'm using a different system for covering local elections.

I realize that the "Election results" template looks better, with the seat distribution image and the colour coding for the lists. There are, however, two reasons why I'm not using it myself.

The first is that it doesn't allow for the full names of the electoral lists to be included. This may not be the most important detail, but it still strikes me as encyclopedic.

The second reason is probably the more important one. The electoral threshold isn't three per cent (formerly five per cent) of valid votes but of all votes, and the template doesn't allow both numbers to be listed. Usually, this isn't the most important thing ... but sometimes it is. The LDP fell below the threshold in the 2012 Belgrade election because of the difference between the percentages.

I could probably find a way of modifying the template (or creating a derivative template) to accommodate these points, if need be. This is something I've been thinking about for a while. One way or the other, it would probably make sense to bring other editors into the discussion as well. CJCurrie (talk) 08:01, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Belgrade elections in 2013

[edit]

On a separate point, you've written that there weren't any elections in Belgrade's municipalities in 2013. I'm sorry, but that's just incorrect. Click on numbers 27 and 71 of that year's official gazette for proof. CJCurrie (talk) 08:09, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, you can make full names of electoral lists if you want in infobox Election results Aca1291 (talk) 08:21, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You lose the colour coding some of time, though, which defeats part of the purpose. Though maybe I can try to work around this.
Btw, I think I know the reason for the confusion about the 2013 Belgrade results. The 2013 results aren't listed in the official government returns for the 2016 cycle, but that's only because Voždovac and Zemun also held elections in 2016, and the official report only covers the most recent election results in each municipality. The Official Gazette for Belgrade covers the 2013 results, as I mentioned above.
The official returns are very helpful, but they don't provide all of the information (i.e., they don't break down vote totals for different GG lists in same municipality, and they don't provide the full list names). I find you need to go to the city/municipal gazettes to get the full story.
Anyway, I can experiment with the 2013 results page to try to get in all of the relevant information while still keeping the more visually appealing templates. If it works out, I could change the other local election pages as well. CJCurrie (talk) 08:35, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ok... Aca1291 (talk) 08:38, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Update: I've modified the 2013 Vrbas template to try to get the best of both worlds. More context is available here. CJCurrie (talk) 09:53, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Graham Beards I might want to point the user's edits before the block from 17 January [2] [3] [4]. The user seems to consider the term [and being] gay derogatory, and looks like back at it again with the edit at GayDaxServer (t · c) 13:32, 15 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I would recommend to take this over to WP:ANI, especially because of this edit. Vacant0 (talk) 13:48, 15 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Just what ANI doesn't need. I noticed the same thing. See below.--Bbb23 (talk) 14:02, 15 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

2015 Serbian local elections moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, 2015 Serbian local elections, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. A tag has been placed on Category:2015 elections in Serbia indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself. Liz Read!
