. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 21:14, 16 December 2023 (UTC)- Subject: Appeal for Unblock - Unintentional Linking from Website to Wikipedia
- Dear Wikipedia Administrators,
- I am writing to appeal the block that has been placed on my Wikipedia account. I understand that my actions may have inadvertently violated Wikipedia's policies, and I would like to provide context and clarification regarding the situation.
- First and foremost, I want to emphasize that it was never my intention to promote my website or violate Wikipedia's guidelines. I deeply respect Wikipedia's principles of neutrality and accuracy, and I have always aimed to contribute positively to the platform.
- The reason for the block, as I understand it, is that I linked to my website from Wikipedia articles. I want to clarify that these links were included in good faith and were meant to provide additional information and resources to readers. My website contains informative content related to topics covered in Wikipedia articles, and I believed that linking to relevant pages on my site would enhance the reader experience.
- I acknowledge that my understanding of Wikipedia's policies regarding external links may have been inadequate, and I sincerely apologize for any unintentional violations. I assure you that there was no intent to engage in promotional activity or spamming.
- Moving forward, I am committed to adhering strictly to Wikipedia's guidelines and policies. I will refrain from including any further links to my website unless they are deemed appropriate and in accordance with Wikipedia's standards. I am open to any necessary corrections or adjustments to my contributions to ensure compliance with Wikipedia's rules.
- I kindly request that you reconsider the block on my account and allow me the opportunity to continue contributing constructively to Wikipedia. I value the platform and the community of editors, and I am eager to rectify any mistakes and contribute positively to Wikipedia's mission of providing free, reliable information to the world.
- Thank you for your attention to this matter. I appreciate your time and consideration.
- Sorry for the late response, not able to look into Wikipedia inbox for long time.
- Sincerely,
- Abheesh A Azeez Abheeshazeez (talk) 20:31, 25 February 2024 (UTC)

Request reason:
The concert admin blocked my account because he thought I was spamming Wikipedia by using my account. Let me explain my situation. I have a new website called Indiafocus. It's a news website, and so many articles we publish are relevant to links with similar Wikipedia pages. Each page I linked with Wikipedia results from hard work and dedication. I never search Wikipedia to write an article for my website. Instead, the article is done per thorough research, and after publishing, I only link if a relevant Wikipedia page is available and worth linking with.
Please consider this fact.
1) I never manipulated the facts, like the date of publication, with Wikipedia when publishing the article.
2) Each page links only to the article that adds value to the linked Wikipedia page.
3) The article is either very old or new; if it adds value to a relevant page, it should not be considered spam.
4) I am linking to enhance the Wikipedia page, remove dead links and link to a highly relevant and active page.
Request the Admin to check the links so you can understand whether they are relevant to the content. If this activity is considered spam, I will not repeat it anymore. Please send me a message if you need more explanation from my end. So, kindly consider my request and unblock the account. Abheeshazeez (talk) 06:19, 26 February 2024 (UTC)
Decline reason:
We don't get to put links to our own websites on Wikipedia. --jpgordon𝄢𝄆𝄐𝄇 06:46, 26 February 2024 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
(edit conflict) ( too good to not post ) You will not be unblocked to link to or edit about your new website. " All content must be cited from reliable, independent sources with a reputation for fact checking," which your new website is not. Please describe what non WP:conflict of interest, non promotional edits you would make. Thanks. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 06:50, 26 February 2024 (UTC)
{{unblock Dear Admin. I am blocked as the related admins find I am spamming. As per the spamming policy (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Spam), I have not spammed. I only added value to the Wikipedia pages by linking relevant pages to my website. I promise that if it is against Wikipedia's policy, I will accept my mistake and guarantee I will never repeat it. So, kindly reconsider my request to unblock.}}
{{Dear Admin, I am so sorry that the WP Conflict policy was not to my knowledge, and I admit it was a great mistake. I am requesting an apology from the Wiki community for violating the Wiki policy even without my knowledge. In the future, I will not add any links related to me from any website if you unblock me. Thank you.}}

Request reason:
Dear Admin While editing the Wikipedia page, my intention was to provide value to the existing Wikipedia page. However, this was not in my knowledge of the WPConflict Policy and I already apologise for the mistake. If you remove my block I promise I will not add any links related to my own websites or websites that have any relation with me in any manner. Future edits will only be limited to enhancing the Wikipedia pages and if I add any links to the Wikipedia page then that will be from well established and reputed websites only for citation and adhere to the Wikipedia conduct policies. I understand the reason for the block and I apologize for the mistake and this block no more needed as I will not make the mistake in the future.
Accept reason:
per discussion. Welcome back.-- Deepfriedokra (talk) 21:48, 1 March 2024 (UTC)
What edits will you make instead? 331dot (talk) 10:22, 26 February 2024 (UTC)
- In the future, I will focus on making constructive edits in accordance with Wikipedia's guidelines. I understand the importance of maintaining a Neutral Point of View and will ensure that all edits are unbiased and neutral. I will diligently verify the accuracy of information before making any edits, using reliable sources to support my contributions. Additionally, I will include inline citations, footnotes, or reference sections to cite sources accurately. I will prioritize providing the most relevant and recent information available if i update any information. I am committed to following Wikipedia's policies and contributing positively to the platform. So my sincere apology for the earlier mistake and request to support me. Thank you. Abheeshazeez (talk) 11:56, 26 February 2024 (UTC)
- More specifically, what articles or topics might you edit about? 331dot (talk) 13:23, 26 February 2024 (UTC)
- I may focus on articles related to Indian Culture and Politics where ever citations are missing or any dead links are found. The purpose is to enhance the article and provide value to the topic. In case of any dead link, I will replace it with authoritative websites links that have articles relevant to the referring Wikipedia page by adhering to the wiki policies. - HJ Mitchell What do you think? 331dot (talk) 16:16, 26 February 2024 (UTC)
- It was a mistake on my end due to a lack of knowledge, and I apologise for it and promise never to repeat the error. The best I can do as a human is admit my mistake sincerely and never repeat it. There is nothing more I can do; I hope the Admins can understand me and allow me to join Wikipedia again. Abheeshazeez (talk) 17:10, 26 February 2024 (UTC)
- Can you reconsider and will you be able to provide me with a single chance Abheeshazeez (talk) 04:28, 28 February 2024 (UTC)
