Recent changes
- When you added or edited a template with the visual editor the input boxes were very big. This has been fixed. The input boxes will now be smaller until you click on them. Then they will change size to fit the text. [1]
Problems
- Some diffs showed lines in the wrong order. This was fixed last week. [2]
- Marking a cross-wiki notification as read didn't work every time. The other wiki was not updated. This has now been fixed. [3]
<maplink>
did not work for a few days. This was because of a bug. This has now been fixed. [4]{{subst:REVISIONUSER}}
is used by some templates. For a period edits saved with{{subst:REVISIONUSER}}
would save the previous user's name and not your username. This is now fixed. Edits made before the bug was fixed will still be wrong and need to be corrected. [5]- When you move a page the title still shows the old page name. The developers are working on fixing this. [6]
Changes later this week
- Because of a data centre test you will be able to read but not edit the wikis for up to an hour on 12 September and 10 October. This will start at 14:00 (UTC). You might lose edits if you try to save during this time. The time when you can't edit might be shorter than an hour. You can read more about this.
- Because of the data centre test there will be no new version of MediaWiki this week. Changes for this week will come next week instead.
Meetings
- You can join the next meeting with the Editing team. During the meeting, you can tell developers which bugs you think are the most important. The meeting will be on 11 Septmber at 18:30 (UTC). See how to join.
- You can join the technical advice meeting on IRC. During the meeting, volunteer developers can ask for advice. The meeting will be on 12 September at 15:00 (UTC). See how to join.
Future changes
- The developers work on making the wikis work better on mobile phones. There is a list of common problems when making content easier to read in the mobile view. You can add things to the page and ask others to help.

BAP Page Comments
Hello Abel!
I would like to thank you for your feedback on my submitted page: Stop abusing the sandbox by removing the header. ~ Abelmoschus Esculentus
I just wanted to ask if this is something that can be detected when I edit the page? And what can I do from my end to prevent this from happening again(should there be any repercussion that may affect approvals for my future submissions)?
Sorry this may be a stupid question, I'm still very new here and still trying to get a feel of how things are being setup. This must be something that I have unintentionally done.
Looking forward on your thoughts!

- @BAPCathyM: Hello. User:Lowercase sigmabot II is a bot responsible for clearing the sandbox and reinserting the header if it is removed. You didn't break any rules here, just please do not remove the header of the sandbox. There is a note in the editing area stating that "Please leave this part alone", and you are intended to follow it. —AE (talk • contributions) 09:36, 13 September 2018 (UTC)

Category request: Category:Naturalised citizens of Iraq
Hello, I wondered why you declined 59.149.124.29's request to create this category? Your rationale, "Could you show that there are a number of pages that belong to this category?", doesn't make sense. The proposal had four articles that fit, and out of 105 national subcategories of Category:Naturalized citizens by nation, 36 have four or fewer articles.
- 1 article: Algeria, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cuba, Kingdom of Great Britain, Libya, Lithuania, Mozambique, Namibia, Saudi Arabia, Slovenia, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, Swaziland, Thailand, Uganda
- 2 articles: Cambodia, Cyprus, Ghana, Guinea, Luxembourg
- 3 articles: Costa Rica, Georgia (country), Honduras, India, Jordan, Nicaragua, Nigeria, State of Palestine, Peru, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Vanuatu
- 4 articles: Iceland, Iran, Morocco
Since 1/3 of the currently existing categories have four or fewer articles, why treat Iraq differently? 208.95.51.53 (talk) 12:18, 19 September 2018 (UTC)

Assessment
Hi AE, could you please assess my progress on my AfC edits? Thanks. Yanjipy (talk) 02:21, 20 September 2018 (UTC)
- Hello Yanjipy. Sorry for the late reply since I'm busy in real life. I've checked all your reviews here. Your comments are okay (except the following, stay tuned), sometimes you may fix the problems yourself. (?)
- Time to be picky. For Draft:Jacob Riley Wasserman, you said the article lacks a lede, but if you look closely you can see the the first section is actually a legit lede; I disagree with "
the lead section should be shorter
" in Draft:Anna Hakobyan. Compared with Crescent Falls, it is already very short, and you are still asking for shorter; Why not decline Draft:Cafe Psychologique with reason npov? If the submission is an essay, advertisement or biased original research, you don't need to leave it to other reviewers to examine its notability; In Draft:Catherine Losing, you questioned the Google Drive source. If the Google Drive link is valid and the document is a reliable source, it can be a source; Why not mention breaking down the lede in Draft:Dato' Sri Melvin Loh Kok Man? For Draft:Michael DiDonna, are you sure that it has no footnotes? It lacks inline citations instead. These two are different. You may decline it with reason ilc (type it in the decline option box if you don't want to scroll down and search); I don't see any subsections in Draft:Riverside Golf Club, can you further elaborate it?
- You may rearrange the sections by yourself instead of posting WP:ORDER comment in every single submission. Good luck reviewing, my friend :) —AE (talk • contributions) 13:39, 20 September 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks AE, there's no need to be sorry, I also have to go to school on the weekdays. Anyways thank you very much for the response, it's very informative and I'll for sure use it as a reference on the AfC. Also, thanks for clarifying to me abut the difference between inline citations and footnotes. I'm afraid to say that I've gotten these two types of references confused and that I think I tagged plenty of articles that did have footnotes but no inline citations with (no footnotes) :( . Also, thanks for clarifying to me that I could edit Drafts myself. I'll try to practice more and impress the admins on AfC. Thanks for all your help AE. —Yanjipy (talk) 19:11, 20 September 2018 (UTC)

State of Palestine
</rant on>
Want to know a secret? Palestine has never, in the history of time, existed as a country or a people. It's a scam. Before Jimmy Carter came along, the PLO was nothing more than a terrorist organization. Little has changed.
If Israel had any sense they would have told Jimmy Carter to shove it up his arse, and shoved the 'Palestinians' across the border and out of their country decades ago.
Kindly slap anyone who ever refers to 'Palestine' as either. Thank you for your assistance.
</rant off>
At least when they gave Jimmy Carter the Nobel peace prize, I learned that that organization was corrupt. No surprise when they gave Obama one.

The evidence is clear. The entire group promoting 'the State of Palestine' is nothing more than usurpers bent on chiselling away at the sovereignty of Israel. Palestine is a REGION, like the Redwood forest, or the Mississippi valley. I DEMAND that all pages on Wikipedia listed as 'State of Palestine' be either deleted and banned, or renamed to 'region of Palestine'.
I already attempted the changes on one page, and listed out my reasons. You erroneously reversed those changes. Now, you need to effect the changes correctly as it is your responsibility. I will be watching.

Question about your edit
[11] – can you share your thought process for reverting this unblock request as a non-administrator without edit summary? Best, Kevin (aka L235 · t · c) 23:27, 23 September 2018 (UTC)
- I've reinstated the block appeal (and declined it). The appeal itself was not vandalism and should not have been reverted before an administrator reviewed it. While I don't necessarily agree with the strongest voices here, the community has expressed significant concern with non-administrators reviewing unblock requests – see here – even when the requests were "blatant trolling requests created by LTA's, VOA's, socks", which I didn't see that the request in question was. I sincerely appreciate that you're trying to help with the workload here, but administrators still do have to review when non-administrators remove unblock requests for thoroughness.
