User talk:Abbass Public Relations
January 2013
[edit]Hello, Abbass Public Relations. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Patch Adams, you may need to consider our guidance on conflicts of interest.
All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.
If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:
- Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
- Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
- Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
- Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.
Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.
For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 18:16, 31 January 2013 (UTC)

- May I enquire which areas you would be editing in - bearing in mind WP:COI (our policy on conflict of interest)? Peridon (talk) 20:14, 31 January 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you for your advice and information. Naturally I will only be editing or adding information that will be of interest to the public that is factual and without bias. Mainly information about TV, Film and Authors Abbass Public Relations (talk) 06:47, 1 February 2013 (UTC)
- Although the blocking administrator for some reason chose to give you a block notice that mentioned only the user name issue, that is not, in fact the only problem, nor, in my opinion, the most serious one. Although you say that your editing will be "without bias", it is clear that your editing so far has been pure promotion, all of it relating to Shelley Sykes. it also takes no more than a minute of searching to find a business relationship between your company and Shelley Sykes. If you wish to be unblocked, you will have to convince an administrator that you intend to edit on subjects in which you do not have a conflict of interest. If you are here because you are interested in contributing to a free encyclopaedia for no gain to yourself, then, like everybody else, you are welcome to do so. If, however, you have no interest in doing anything other than using Wikipedia as a free service to promote your clients, then Wikipedia is the wrong place for you. - I can understand you thinking that, but can assure you Shelley Sykes Happy Charity doesn't pay Abbass or any company, that I know of, since they donate 100% of the money to the causes supporting disadvantaged kids around the world. We just thought that since Global Happiness Day is coming up on 1 March 2013 and Justin Bieber, Usher and Mary J Blige are this years honorees, people would like to know that Quincy Jones, Patch Adams, HH Dalia Lama, Oprah, Ellen Degeneres, Will Smith, Robbie Williams, Charles Billach, Dr Edward de Bono, Goldie Hawn, Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake...have all been past recipients of the Global Happiness Award.
