header & transparency

[edit]

I noticed your header picture's background is slightly off. I was going to make it transparent for you, but I wasn't sure you were an IE sympathizer or not. — a thing 06:55, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Have at it. I am an avid Firefox and Linux fan, so don't worry about that. I had made the user page banner transparent originally, but then edited it again, and I must have done something wrong in The GIMP. I've just never bothered fixing it. Thanks for the offer, LINUXERIST@ 13:26, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Strange, everywhere but your user page it shows up with a transparent background. — a thing 06:48, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Where is my user page banner transparent then? LINUXERIST@ 12:41, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Categorize Tagging

[edit]

Hello. First I would like to apoligize if I offended you by tagging your article with the categorize template. However it is a cornerstone of new page patrolling and can be very helpful. It is common for authors to simply forget to add a category and tagging it will remind. In addition if the author never returns to the page it will put it into the category so others can find it and add categories later. At any rate if I caused you any grief I am sorry. Good day, SorryGuy 06:49, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I see your point. — a thing 06:50, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:OS2_workplace_shell.png. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Template:Title

[edit]

Hello. Since you used Template:Title on your user page, I've fixed it for you so that it now points to User:SushiGeek/Title, which is now where the template resides. This is per discussion on templates for deletion. SushiGeek 15:35, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Stating that it's "always been [Colbert's] position" that Oregon is "Idaho's Portugal" is blatant "because Stephen told me to" vandalism and will not be tolerated. Further such vandalism will warrant a block without further warning. JDoorjam Talk 01:45, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Phonon (KDE)

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Phonon (KDE), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Phonon (KDE). Disputed fair use rationale for Image:GeOS Commodore 64.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:GeOS Commodore 64.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 21:11, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Amiga Workbench 1 3 large.png

[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:Amiga Workbench 1 3 large.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 00:08, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Microsoft Windows 1 01 screen.png)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Microsoft Windows 1 01 screen.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 23:00, 6 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You are now a Reviewer

[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 02:14, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello AThing! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot notifying you on behalf of the the unreferenced biographies team that 1 of the articles that you created is currently tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 139 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

Holly Springs

[edit]

Hi, I see you've edited the Holly Springs page. Do you know of any good primary or secondary sources about the town's history? I'm a newspaper reporter. Thank you. 16:38, 21 June 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Andrewkenney (talkcontribs)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Souplantation, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. -- Alan Liefting (talk - contribs) 20:06, 10 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
