Diplomats
Firstly, great work with the African diplomat articles, I am always happy to see more contributers to articles concerning the African continent. Over at the stub sorting wikiproject, we are about to split {{diplomat-stub}} by continent. When creating new articles concerning any diplomats, consider leaving a red-linked template like this {{Africa-diplomat-stub}} for a day or two until we create and sort the actual template. Thanks and keep up the good work! BTW, please reply on my talk page--Thomas.macmillan (talk) 04:23, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

Hey APK, I read you'd taken a photo of All-Souls Church in Washington, D.C.. Does that mean you live in the area? Because, if so, we are neighbors! I live near the MD/DC line. Funny. If I can help with something in the real world (?!) let me know. --leahtwosaints (talk) 11:05, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

Hello yet again. I regretfully inform you that the bot we were using to update the user status at Wikipedia:Highly Active Users, SoxBot V, was blocked for its constant updating. With this bot out of operation, a patch is in the works. Until that patch is reviewed and accepted by the developers, some options have been presented to use as workarounds: 1) Qui monobook (not available in Internet Explorer); 2) User:Hersfold/StatusTemplate; 3) Manually updating User:StatusBot/Status/USERNAME; or 4) Not worry about it and wait for the patch to go through, which hopefully won't take long. If you have another method, you can use that, too. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Useight (talk) 17:49, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

I noticed you said you've been taking a lot of pictures of NRHPs in Washington D.C. Thanks.--Bedford Pray 10:34, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

- You may want to use this book for the Belmont article and any others you're interested in writing. Page 74 is the Thomas T. Gaff House, page 75 is the Churchill Hotel, page 78 is the Philippines' ambassador's residence, pages 69 & 79 is the Whittemore House, page 84 is the Washington Club, page 85 is the Embassy of Indonesia (Becks, remember walking past the building?), page 86 is the Perry Belmont Mansion, and page 87 is the Clarence Moore House. I plan on writing the Indonesian embassy (Walsh-McLean House), Clarence Moore House (Embassy of Uzbekistan), and Washington Club articles, but if you want a picture of any other NRHP buildings let me know. I've already uploaded quite a few, but still have alot of uploading to do. It's quite difficult sometimes trying to distinguish what might be a NRHP. Some of the large, historic mansions end up not being a NRHP, or else they're under a different name and I can't find it. (that was the case with the Clarence Moore House until I did some further digging) Plus, I'll take a picture of what I think might be a NRHP and find out I walked right past 2 or 3 NRHPs and didn't even know it. <sigh> APK yada yada 19:21, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
- Well, I purchased the book this evening and have found alot of great, old pictures of NRHPs and interesting facts. In regards to the Belmont mansion, it was constructed in 1909 for the son of Commodore Matthew C. Perry at a cost of $1.5 million and designed by Etienne Sansom and Horace Trumbauer. Perry Belmont was a congressman from New York and an ambassador to Spain. His summer home was called the "Elms" in Newport, Rhode Island. Hope that helps. APK yada yada 00:51, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

Uzbekistan project
The project is really, at this point, more or less just a "bookkeeping function" to allow interested editors to know how good the articles relevant to the country are. It was always the intention to use the Central Asia banner, which should have Uzbek assessments built in. Unfortunately, historically, there have been several newly started projects which have been merged into others, generally including having to replace the project's own unique banner with the banner of the larger regional project, which can be more than a bit timeconsuming. The only way I could think of ensuring that didn't happen again was by creating the projects up front, having the parent project's banner include assessment parameters for the child project as well. Mmmhelloooo (sorry, I saw the "How you be durrin?" and couldn't help it). Thanks for your comments on the Dupont Circle article; I'm definitely going to need help with some of the sources. I'm going to go through and add {{fact}} tags to information that I think is true but for which I cannot find a source. (I know we're supposed to remove "I think I've heard it somewhere" information, but I think when an article is undergoing a major overhaul it's a good time to implement WP:IGNORE).
As for the fountain and historic district, I'm not sure if those need separate articles, at least not yet. Reason being is that most of the info about the historic district is about just about architecture, which would fit nicely into that section... and I'm not sure that an article on the fountain would be more than a few paragraphs (at most). Of course, if there's a source that has a plethora of information about the fountain, then that could change things.
One additional comment (sort of unrelated): I've done a good deal of work to the main Washington, D.C. article and nominated it for GA status. Nobody's undertaken a review yet, so I'd appreciate if you think there are any glaring errors or omissions. Thank you! Best, epicAdam (talk) 13:28, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

Advice on DYK
Hey APK, I've been writing a new article on The Voice of the Turtle (play) in my sandbox, and I think it might be a candidate for DYK. I've never nominated an article for that before, and I know you have a ton of them, so I was wondering if you wouldn't mind taking a look at it, just to see if you can spot any potential problems before I move it into the mainspace. I've been going back and forth on a few things (ex. saying "9th longest-running non-musical" or "9th longest-running play"), and I'm still trying to find a good article to link to for "East Sixties" (I know nothing about New York) but I'm more or less finished with it for the time being. I'm still trying to come up with a tag idea... right now I'm thinking about doing something that mentions the lengthy run and/or the scripture reference in the show's title. Anyway, thanks for the help! —MearsMan talk 19:33, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
- Yay, it's MearsMan! Hope your summer is going well. Anyway, a few suggestions for the article: 1) Don't wikilink words such as apartment, married, date, hotel, etc. It's unncessary because people already know what these words mean. 2) Reference the synopsis section. 3) I would say "9th longest-running play". It looks like a good article and for a hook suggestion, um, I would suggest: "Did you know that the Voice of the Turtle was the 9th longest-running play on Broadway?" or "Did you know that the Broadway play The Voice of the Turtle was adapted into a film starring Ronald Reagan?" I hope that helps. APK PRAISE JEEBUS 21:51, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
Told ya I'd get around to it
I also took pics of Tyler Hall (the building called "adjoining hospital" in the oldy-old picture) and some unknown old building to the left of Leonard Hall (well, I was parked there, so I thought I would take everything I could). I also have the following buildings if you need them. Let me know, and I'll upload them:
- NC Natural History Museum
- NC State History Museum
- NC Legislature Building (not the Capitol, but that funky 1960's looking one)
- The new RBC Skyscraper under construction, with the Capitol in the foreground
- Some pics of a few exhibits in the Natural History Museum
If you've got any more you need done, let me know. Maybe sometime in the next few months I'll pick them off... --Jayron32.talk.contribs 01:16, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
- I've been in a picture-taking mood as well. Look at my recent contributions. The Legislature Building is a NRHP that doesn't have an article, so a pic will come in handy if you can upload it. I can write one for the RBC building if you'll upload that as well. Aww hell, go ahead and upload the ones you listed. I can use all of them. Gracias. APK PRAISE JEEBUS 01:19, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

Some observations
Earlier this year comments were made here regarding the relationship between yourself and your father and its impact on the formation of your sexuality. Those comments should not have been made.
You have acted wisely in distancing yourself from the LGBT project. Their activity is agenda-driven with an aim to modifying their own self-image and the conceptual identification of LGBT issues among the readership. As such the project suffers a collective dysfunction and is inherently dishonest.
You would do well to continue to distance yourself from a certain no-longer-active pseudo-Photojournalist whom you have blindly supported in the past. Though you had given him special recognition as late as the day before his breakdown and departure, the absence of any comment from you on the Appreciation protest section of his talk page is conspicuous and has been noted.
This pseudo-Photojournalist along with a certain Prostitute from Eastern Europe recently uploaded and inserted into various articles on WP a series of gay pornographic images from the prostitute's studio. This action provoked strong reactions from certain quarters, including charges of pedophilia and the making of pornography available to minors. Once charges like this have been leveled, whether genuine or fabricated, from the right or from the left, or made calmly or hysterically, certain Federal Investigative Bodies will closely, very closely, watch all the actors involved.
The pseudo-Photojournalist's association and alignment with a certain "resting" former admin, a compulsive and pathological liar who can be identified by her eligibility to obtain a ten-cent deposit for the return of her eyeglasses, may buy him some immediate "airtime" but will purchase him neither immunity nor credibility in the long run. Their recent jointly-launched smokescreen will eventually dissipate, and their fraud will be fully revealed in time.
All the actors involved will be under the scrutiny of certain Federal Investigative Bodies for a long, long time to come. Far be it for anybody with any sense to interfere with or become entangled in their work, even if there exists a need for serious redress of any grievances. As investigations such as these can be quite protracted affairs, persons seeking redress of grievances with any of these actors might abide by a sort of tacit creed, which could hold, in part: "We are patient; we will wait for our time. We will never forget."

- Oh yes, I was watching all of that. There was more than one sock case involved. I can't believe how many screen names were used. APK PRAISE JEEBUS 00:15, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

Ur talk page currently includes a header saying u have some health issues, i hope u get better soon.
Actually i visit to give u some feedback, for u to take or leave as u like. On a couple occasions i have hesitated to give u a comment on your talk page, or to respond to an inquiry elsewhere like your "Kappa House" inquiry at wt:NRHP where i had "good stuff" to contribute, because the adjacent discussion, or your signature which now shows "APK PRAISE JEEBUS", was difficult for me to process. I do not want to align myself for or against various sides on various issues. As you know, i focus on historic sites. I don't really want to get involved in political or religious issues in wikipedia editing, especially as wikipedia edits live forever, and my positions might change but my words would come back to haunt me. So, a couple times, it has caused gaps in my occasional correspondence with you. I am not asking you to change your displays that seem to have political overtones, but i just want to let you know it complicates and reduces my interactions with you about historic sites and their presentation in wikipedia. I hope this is helpful to you to know. doncram (talk) 00:19, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
- Well, I'm not here to offend so I'll change it. APK PRAISE JEEBUS 00:15, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
