Fictional character Shivbhuti as per Swetambar Texts

[edit]

Around 2350 years ago, Swetamber sect came out of Jain Dharma because of 12 years long drought. Jain monks who could not bear the hunger, thirst and nakesness; adopted clothes and started Swetamber sect out of nowhere. Due to the 5th time epoch, this swetamber sect has now grown a lot. Just to prove themselves more authentic, Swetamber monks created the story of Shivbhuti and mentioned him as the creator of Digambar Jain Dharma.
