Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited United States Senate election in Louisiana, 2014, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page The Hill (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Elimination of Publicly Declared Interest Section of Illinois gubernatorial election, 2018

[edit]

In Illinois gubernatorial election, 2018, there was a subsection in the Democratic Party section called "Publicly expressed interest." I am not the author of the section, but I found the section useful. You deleted this section calling it unnecessary. I respectfully disagree. I think it is important to differentiate candidates who are actively exploring a run for Governor from candidates whose names get thrown around. Chris Kennedy and Ameya Pawar have hired staff.(1) This is different than someone's blog post on Barack Obama running for Governor.(2) It is unintentionally misleading to have them in the same category of "potential."

The article United States presidential election, 2020 makes this differentiation. In the Republican section, they differentiate based on Declared minor candidates, Candidates who have publicly expressed interest and Speculative candidates. In the Democratic section they differentiate between "Candidates who have publicly expressed interest" and "Speculative candidates."

I would like to recreate the subsection. However, before I do that is there a reason you think such a subsection is unnecessary in this article? I will be posting this at Talk:Illinois gubernatorial election, 2018.

2017 NJ gubernatorial election

[edit]

I undid changes you made to an entry, based on your mistaken claim that the changes were vandalism

Sharpe James was convicted http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2008/04/newark_ex_mayor_sharpe_james_convicted.html

Democrats for Change endorsed Lisa McCormick for the Democratic nomination governor on January 5, 2017. http://democratsforchange.net/839-2/2017/01/democrats-for-ch…ick-for-governor/

Feel free to insert links / references but please do not reverse my input. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:8C:4400:8652:8D54:FE00:1326:2653 (talk) 12:45, 8 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I've responded to you on the talk page. None of your links say what you claim. In addition, I am perfectly aware of James' conviction; it doesn't belong in the article, though, and it seems to me that you're listing it to make Murphy look bad, especially since you seem to be grasping at straws to make McCormick look good. ALPolitico (talk) 16:31, 8 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Capitalization of job titles

[edit]

I notice that in a recent series of edits, e.g. [1], you've capitalized titles of political offices, e.g. "John Smith, the mayor of Jonesville" --> "John Smith, the Mayor of Jonesville". Per MOS:JOBTITLES, this is not in keeping with the MOS. It would be appropriate to capitalize the title when it's treated as part of the name, e.g. "Confronted with the photographs, Mayor Smith angrily denied..."; but otherwise, the title should be lowercased, e.g. "John Smith, mayor of Jonesville, angrily denied..."

I've corrected United States Senate election in Nebraska, 2012, which is on my watchlist; but if you've made similar changes in other articles, you should probably undo them. Thanks— Ammodramus (talk) 13:43, 29 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree that it's a generic use per the MOS, as it's a proper title in a listing, not a sentence, which is what the MOS is about. It's the equivalent of "State Senator So-and-so" or "Governor So-and-so" were it to be listed in a sentence format. ALPolitico (talk) 19:19, 29 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Just a quick not that you don't seem to have formatted this AfD properly. Perhaps use the template next time? Me-123567-Me (talk) 04:42, 1 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

You have removed Michael Bracamontes several times from this page. I respect that you have stated that no sources are cited. I am a part of his campaign team and have cited several sources as of now. I respectfully ask that you do not remove him from the page again. Here are the sources I added for him as well as his campaign website. http://www.ourcampaigns.com/CandidateDetail.html?CandidateID=390269 http://www.smcdems.org/ https://michaelbracamontes.com/

You have removed Peter Schane once, and I do not intend to republish an edit that was removed without confidence that it will stay. I, Peter Schane, am running for governor, and I am a primary source. Candidacy is hard to get a different primary source for, especially when you are, like me, running with limited resources. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Peterschane (talkcontribs) 21:41, 16 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
