Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Everyone starts from the beginning. I honestly don't know any rules in being a Wikipedian because it's my first time to join Wikipedia and contribute an article. One article I created, the FEU-Institute of Technology Association for Computing Machinery Student Chapter is created not to promote, rather, to inform our members and the world about our organization, which is under the world's largest society for computing, the Association for Computing Machinery. For your information we are a non-profit organization. Thank you.

Your use of Wikipedia to "to inform our members and the world about our organization" is precisely why you are blocked. Please use your own marketing materials/website/blog to spread the word about your non-profit organization. If it is notable enough for inclusion in Wikipedia, a neutral and completely uninvolved editor will likely create the article at some point. (Non-administrator observation) Hi. As you have discovered, I've moved your unblock request to the bottom, because that is where new discussion messages usually go. I think your new username is fine, but you still have to learn about promotion and writing from a neutral point of view (NPOV). To do this, you can read the neutral point of view tutorial, which discusses some ways to write neutrally. (As a final note, I want to let you know that being non-profit has no bearing on Wikipedia's policies on promotion.) The new username is acceptable, but to the end above ... Here are a few key questions:

You are currently blocked because your username appears directly related to a company, group or product that you have been promoting, contrary to the username policy. Reply to The Newspaper: You may like to read Wikipedia:Username policy. If you do so, you will find that it says usernames are acceptable if they contain a company or group name but are clearly intended to denote an individual person, such as "Mark at WidgetsUSA", "Jack Smith at the XY Foundation", "WidgetFan87", "LoveTrammelArt", etc. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 10:07, 12 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • How does writing "to inform ... the world about [your] organization" differ from writing to publicise, and thereby promote, your organisation?
