Berlin Mosque

[edit]

I have reverted your edit at Berlin Mosque. Your claim that the affiliation of the mosque should be listed as "Islam" rather than "Ahmaddiya" is akin to saying that Saint Peter's Basilica in Vatican City should be listed as "Christian" rather than "Roman Catholic". Individual churches / synagogues / mosques adhere to one particular denomination or sect of their given religion, and this is the point of the affiliation parameter of that infobox. If you'd like to discuss this matter further, I suggest you start a discussion at Talk:Berlin Mosque and see if you can gain consensus for your viewpoint. Hi WikiDan61,
Thank you for your feedback on the Berlin Mosque article. I wanted to address some points privately before we take it to the Talk page to potentially save time and avoid a prolonged discussion.
  1. General Practice on Wikipedia: There is no general rule that a mosque should be listed according to its specific denomination on Wikipedia. In fact, many mosques are listed simply under "Islam," while some are specified as "Shia" or "Sunni." I would advise you to look at some other mosque pages on wikipedia.
  2. Affiliation with Sunni Islam: The Berlin Mosque is indeed administered by the Lahore Ahmadiyya Movement, which follows Sunni Islamic practices.
I am a member of this mosque and am officially tasked with ensuring that our information is accurately reflected across various platforms, including Wikipedia. I look forward to your thoughts on this matter.
