Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, I'm A326 and welcome to my talk page.

June 2015

[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Gyrofrog. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Majeerteen, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Please see Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Somalia#Clan lineage, Category talk:Somali clans#RFC, WP:WTAF, WP:Source list etc. Gyrofrog (talk) 19:49, 17 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The clan listings are based on cited sources. This is Wikipedia policy. Additionally, in the past, these lists have been indiscriminate, requiring the reader to scroll down several screens. Again, see previous discussions at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Somalia#Clan lineage. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 15:37, 18 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with Ahmed Haaji Ibrahim Artan Beeldaaje. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. Gyrofrog (talk) 15:43, 18 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles as you did with Ahmed Ibrahim Artan. Doing so won't stop the discussion from taking place. You are, however, welcome to comment about the proposed deletion on the appropriate page. Thank you. Gyrofrog (talk) 17:25, 1 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

July 2015

[edit]

Gyrofrog I fixed the issues that's why I have removed

That's not how it works, though. If you've made improvements, then you should specify these at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ahmed Haaji Ibrahim Artan Beeldaaje and let the discussion take its course. But the template must remain on the article in the meantime. Please see Wikipedia:Guide to deletion and/or Wikipedia:Help, my article got nominated for deletion! for more information. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 18:39, 1 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Ahmed Ibrahim Artan, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Happy Squirrel (talk) 01:04, 6 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The "Somaliareport" reference that you added in the new version does not even mention the subject by name. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 14:17, 6 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Majeerteen, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Gyrofrog (talk) 15:47, 14 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Gyrofrog It seems you don't know what you are doing ! Ali Saleebaan is sub clan of Majeerteen if don't know anything about Majeerteen or Somali people you don't have to edit. (link) A326 --A326 19:05, 14 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
You have removed Ali Saleebaan from Majeerteen page that's why I sent you that link Ali Saleebaan is Sub clan of Majeerteen. Thanks--A326 20:34, 14 August 2015 (UTC)
The clan listing is based on the cited sources (see WP:V). Ali Saleebaan was not listed in those sources. Please see previous discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Somalia#Clan lineage, but also WP:Source list.
Warning icon I am also going to warn you now about making personal attacks on other editors. I've addressed several issues with the Ahmed Ibrahim Artan article and rather than addressing them, you've accused me of hating Somalis, not knowing what I'm doing, and lacking knowledge. I'll advise you to stop doing that, going forward. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 21:43, 14 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Ali Saleebaan is sub clan of Majeerteen , Harti , Darood. Ali Saleebaan is clan that what I'm trying to tell you , but you are not listing to me there is no personal attacks between me and you. You don't know me and I don't know you and there is no reason that I can make you personal attack you gotta understand that, I'm just trying to make you clear Ali Saleebaan is Majeerteen sub clan.I just remembered you what you have wrote "(As per Wiki History Log alot of Somalia history is or has being Omitted, Vandalized or used for personal instead of Real facts of history ?)" this what you have wrote Thanks A326 --A326 21:51, 14 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I did not write "As per Wiki History Log alot of Somalia history is or has being Omitted, Vandalized or used for personal instead of Real facts of history". That's a comment someone else left on my talk page. I'm not even sure what they were trying to say, or what article the person was talking about. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 22:31, 14 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Gyrofrog oh sorry sir I apology you. I'm really sorry for that.Let us work to gather anything help from me I'll be ready for you my name is Yusuf. My Email is (redacted) Email me I'll be respond to you thanks please delete when get it thanks --A326 22:39, 14 August 2015 (UTC)
I'm sorry if all this is frustrating, but I assure you that is not my intent. I've replied further at Talk:Majeerteen#Ali Saleebaan, so that other editors can review it (I hope my comments are helpful and that they make sense). For that same reason, I prefer to keep Wikipedia-related discussions here at Wikipedia, rather than conducting them via email. Thanks, -- Gyrofrog (talk) 04:52, 15 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Gyrofrog Thanks you got my point.Ali Saleebaan and Mohamud Saleebaan are brothers and they are sub clan of Majeerteen. I created page for Ali Saleebaan then someone redact to Majeerteen page and I didn't find help for that. I'm asking sincerely If you can restore that page Ali Saleebaan thanks again --A326 14:19, 15 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, the old Ali Saleebaan page was created by YusufVIP, does that account belong to you? You should make some sort of declaration about it, so others don't suspect you of holding a WP:SOCK account. I have left a response about the old Ali Saleebaan page at Talk:Majeerteen#Ali Saleebaan. Thanks, -- Gyrofrog (talk) 17:10, 15 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I don't remember how I Spelled but there was one that I have created.I haven't seen the page YusufVIP created. I'll create a new page , but I let you know before. That's way you can help me more about it Gyrofrog Thakns for your wonderful help
The last version before the redirect may be viewed here. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 18:23, 15 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Gyrofrog can I add more resources on that one? or is to late--A326 18:35, 15 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think we have WP:CONSENSUS that the page would stand on its own, at this point. I would not suggest doing any more work on that version; it has a lot of issues which I've already specified at Talk:Majeerteen#Ali Saleebaan. I would suggest either starting a draft, or suggest new sources at Talk:Majeerteen#Ali Saleebaan. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 18:53, 15 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Gyrofrog I worked on the draft please check if there's mistake help to correct thanks for your helpful --A326 19:28, 15 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Ahmed Ibrahim Artan for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Ahmed Ibrahim Artan is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ahmed Ibrahim Artan (2nd nomination) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 16:58, 14 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Gyrofrog Ahmed is Somali politician whom everybody knows and he's the son of Ibrahim Artan Ismail whom is Somali ruler and businessman, I don't really know the reason that you always need to deleted his article. A326 --A326 17:20, 14 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Can you provide some third-party sources? If he is well-known then surely these exist. Currently, though, four of the cited references were written by the subject himself. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 17:23, 14 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Gyrofrog ([1])
I think you mean this link? I can't understand the text, but I do see where Ahmed Haji Hajji Ibrahim Artan is mentioned. You might want to explain what the source says at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ahmed Ibrahim Artan (2nd nomination). -- Gyrofrog (talk) 19:13, 14 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Gyrofrog For the article The resource we have is written by Somali language I'll find English resource on Google please remove Articles for deletion notices thanks
We'd have to let the discussion run its course, but if we can find good resources, as Nikkimaria suggested, the article could be kept. Again, though, the important thing is to find third-party sources. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 04:55, 15 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Contests

[edit]

User:Dr. Blofeld has created Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/Contests. The idea is to run a series of contests/editathons focusing on each region of Africa. He has spoken to Wikimedia about it and $1000-1500 is possible for prize money. Would you be interested in contributing to one or assisting draw up core article/missing article lists? He says he's thinking of North Africa for an inaugural one in October. If interested please sign up in the participants section of the Contest page, thanks.♦ --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 01:08, 21 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Invite to the African Destubathon

[edit]

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most geography, wildlife and women articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing, whether it's a river in Malawi, a Nigerian footballer, or a South African civil rights activist, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. For those of you who signed up to the North African contest, that will hopefully be held in the new year. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:11, 6 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
