ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:38, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies

[edit]

I want to apologize for this edit summary ("Stop removing notable information"). I didn't see that you had rephrased it ("multimillion euro debt relief"). SLBedit (talk) 20:26, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

André Cruz (basketball) moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to André Cruz (basketball). Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. JTtheOG (talk) 21:25, 22 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I was watching him playing for the national team against Israel on the Portuguese state-run tv network and didn’t notice that his article was being deleted on the English Wikipedia. Thanks for warning me. A. Landmesser (talk) 23:45, 22 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on André Cruz (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a disambiguation page which either

  • disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
  • disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
  • is an orphaned redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that does not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. If this was the first article that you created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

The page Autodoc has been deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. As the page met any of these strictly-defined criteria, it was deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been deleted are:

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, you may contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you may open a discussion at Wikipedia:Deletion review. — Diannaa (talk) 22:50, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The article was already created in other 11 languages on this online encyclopedia! The data and other information displayed in the deleted English article was well-referenced and can't be replaced by fake or unreferenced data and information. I will never create this article again. Jamais! A. Landmesser (talk) 10:26, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please seek consensus at Talk:Sporting CP for this change you've introduced recently. OhNoitsJamie Talk 16:38, 30 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thre's a consensus there. Only SLBedit thinks otherwise. A. Landmesser (talk) 16:44, 30 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No, there is no consensus about adding POV and advocacy to the lead. Go explain millions of people outside Portugal that "Sporting Lisbon" is "wrong", "innacurate", "insulting". That's just stupidity. SLBedit (talk) 16:47, 30 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Blatant Conflict of interest (COI) editing: even the source you insist to add is about a degrading episode in the history of Sporting CP. Always the same modus operandi that people are starting to notice. Others left Wikipedia for good because of editors like him. The most balanced and equitable way to solve the issue is to properly explain the issues with the use of "Sporting Lisbon" without erasing it from the lead. A. Landmesser (talk) 17:04, 30 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please take this discussion to the article's talk page, and discuss the content not each other. Local Variable (talk) 17:15, 30 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing from certain pages (Sporting CP) for a period of 1 week for edit warring. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Acroterion (talk) 17:06, 30 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked for sockpuppetry

[edit]
Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abusing multiple accounts per the evidence presented at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/A. Landmesser. Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Bbb23 (talk) 15:02, 17 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Notice

The article C.F. Santa Clara has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No evidence that this club passes WP:NORG; sources are primary or trivial mentions.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
