Of course the issue has been looked into. It is quite rare for general sanctions to be imposed on a topic, and that only occurs after massive disruption and investigation by numerous editors. The established editors (and particularly those named in the attack website) have been thanked for helping the encyclopedia, while the POV pushers opposing them have been blocked. An attack page is most effective if it pretends to be something else—in this case it pretends to be reporting how paid editing has occurred. However, it is made-up nonsense based on lies. I can't think of one. He seems to think you're displaying ownership of the article, but I don't see why that means the subtitle has to be part of the title. Woman

So that did finally happen. Women is a noun and female is an adjective. Using female as a noun can be demeaning, but using women as an adjective is nonstandard grammar; while it's often used that way for some topics, "female composers" seems to be more common wording than "women composers", so I figured the more common phrase was better. ekips39 22:47, 30 January 2015 (UTC)

Free advice

Disclaimer: free advice is often worth what you pay for it. That having been said, my advice is to ignore this: [1]. The editor in question has repeatedly engaged in "trollish" comments in recent RfAs, but has managed to avoid making comments that are personal attacks or are otherwise overt violations of RfA or talk guidelines. By engaging in RfA discussion with him, you only give him a greater opportunity to repeat/reiterate his fringe-ish points. If everyone ignores him, it defeats his purpose. Cheers, and thanks. I'm a big fan of reasoned debate, but it's only a worthwhile endeavor when both parties engage in a good faith exchange of ideas. In this particular case, I think you can safely save your breath. @Writer freak: Benjamin Franklin is protected against editing by anyone who created their account less than 4 days ago and/or has fewer than 10 edits (anyone who isn't "autoconfirmed"). Your account is 4 days old and you have 25 edits, so you should be able to edit it; I suggest trying again.

I'm sorry that your articles get deleted, and I appreciate that you're trying hard to help, but as I've said, having two articles on the same thing isn't really needed. @Writer freak: The picture has to exist before it'll show up; you can use an existing image or upload a new one. Help:Files#Uploading files and Wikipedia:Uploading images have information on how to upload files. Also, the picture has to have a file extension -- you'll need to put, for example, [[File:Name of image.jpg]] rather than just [[File:Name of image]]. ekips39 (talk) 19:14, 16 March 2015 (UTC)

Edit counts

Hi there. I don't belive in risking turning an RfA into a dramafest, so I'll try to clear up a possible misunderstanding here instead. The candidate's edit count is for all intents and purposes practically impossible for somoene pursuing an active life in school or at a full-time job. In a time of a serious crisis for Wikipedia I was hitting 2,500 - 3,000 edits per month after which I was so exhausted I had to take a Wikibreak, and I'm retired and can spend as much time as I like on Wikipedia or travelling around the world for it. Anyone else who persistently racks up so many monthly edits (at that tender age) is either obsessive-compulsive like a gambler, or has some other agenda, neither of which is conducive to instilling confidence at RfA. One has to be on Wiki practically 24/7 for such a performance - I know, I've been there and gotten three T-shirts for it ! --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 08:26, 5 April 2015 (UTC)

It was the WP:IEP, a Foudation scheme that badly misfired. I discovered the problems and led the damage control, a bunch of staff jumped on a plane for a junket to India, and the volunteer community was left having to clean up the mess. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 20:28, 5 April 2015 (UTC)

It kind of depends on the tools you use and the speed of your connection. If you use hotcat, as I and the candidate in question do, then you can be editing at more that an edit a minute as the candidate often does, I didn't have to go far back in his contributions to see four hotcat edits in the same minute. I couldn't do that, I can't type that fast and my connection isn't fast enough; but if you can touchtype or type at near that speed, and you have a fast connection, then yes you can. If you use twinkle, as I occasionally do and the candidate does quite a bit, then your edit count is hugely inflated, especially if in your preferences it auto updates your CSD log - he has automatically "done" an extra 1616 edits simply by opting in to having a CSD log. There are people who spend an unhealthy amount of time on wiki, but edit count is not a surefire way to identify that. ϢereSpielChequers 17:45, 6 April 2015 (UTC)

Missterese

I can not find an active new section tab. Re: the discussion of the Performance artists list. There is no prerequisite that the list only include names that have Wikipedia articles about them and wikipedias guidelines are very explicit to say that the content of these lists does not need to stand up to that type of rigorous guidelines. That said, this group could easily stand up to all notability requirements suggested by any and all guidelines. If you were to google the group, "Bad Unkl Sista" you would quickly find this fact out for yourself. So, the mere fact that there is not a Wikipedia article about this group does not mean it does not meet the notability requirements. There are topics out there that do not have Wikipedia articles about them that are nonetheless worthy of mention and worthy of an article on Wikipedia. So, the idea that something doesn't meet notability requirements simply because no Wikipedia article has been written about it actually precludes a lot of new information from being added to Wikipedia and that premise would eventually suffocate the resource into obscurity. If you were to simply check for yourself you would see that the notability requirements are met in this instance. One can not argue that they have not been met without checking for yourself. It is simply impossible to argue your position without looking into the subject for yourself. Don't worry. I give up. I really now have just realized the reality of how doomed Wikipedia is and how limited it is that the individuals who put themselves in a position to define performance artists have no knowledge about the subject and have no interest in checking to see if the proposed name on a list is even notable- 30 seconds would prove it is- but because of some sadly misguided ideals about curating information, some bureaucratic idea of how to erroneously make judgements when a guideline is not there to otherwise restrict the flow of information, is going to prevail. I just realized that Wikipedia doesn't deserve to have good information about contemporary performance artists. The whole movement of performance art is precisely the antithesis of what you and k6kfa are demonstrating. You admit openly there is no particular guideline against it yet you presume that you have room to take sides. So fine. I decline to argue for the right to include accurate information on Wikipedia. It is too ridiculous to argue for a fact that exists whether or not Wikipedia peons record it. Take care. I'd be happy to explain myself in more detail to clear up the misunderstandings, but since you've already given up and are convinced that it's me who's in the wrong, I'm afraid there's nothing I can do. In case anyone else reads this and gets the idea that we don't consider things to be notable unless there's an article already written about them -- that's not true. Ways to improve James Allen Red Dog

I only reverted their edit, not yours. I reverted to the version prior to the vandalism, which is effectively the same as just undoing the previous vandal edit. I could have used "undo" instead, which technically would have reverted only that edit and not the ones after, but the result wouldn't have been any different. Also, I have to go to bed too -- sorry :/ Someone else will probably take care of it, though. Things get handled pretty quickly here. ekips39❦talk 05:51, 27 April 2015 (UTC)
