User talk:98.221.136.220
September 2019
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. I am glad to see that you are discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, talk pages such as Talk:Media portrayal of the Ukrainian crisis are for discussion related to improving the article in specific ways based on reliable sources and the project policies and guidelines, not for general discussion about the topic or unrelated topics, or statements based on your thoughts or feelings. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. I don't think you understand what WP:NPOV actually means: and it doesn't mean WP:RIGHTGREATWRONGS, nor does it mean adding WP:UNDUE material to an already comprehensive article. Most importantly, talk pages are not forums, and are WP:NOTADVOCACY for your personal bent as to how to redress perceived wrongs. Iryna Harpy (talk) 04:21, 13 September 2019 (UTC)

Blocking
[edit]98.221.136.220 (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
umm, I've been blocked for no reason. Someone must have associated my IP with a sockpuppet. I checked and found that someone has used an IP related to mine and made disruptive edits. I am not that IP. Can I be unblocked?
Decline reason:
This IP is not blocked. Without the complete block message, there is unfortunately nothing we can do to help. SQLQuery me! 19:19, 5 October 2019 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
- Please copy the block message here including the blocking admin's name.

Pushing an "illogical POV" and other concerns
[edit]Hi, I'm responding to your edit summary that was apparently in response to my reversion. I have no agenda here, other than reverting edits that seem problematic. Feel free to explain yourself on the talk page, and refer to the talk page in your edit summary. That way, nobody checking the recent edits will need to draw any conclusions without context. As things stand, your edits are, at a glance, incredibly similar to a lot of baseless removals. Editors who check recent changes for such problematic removals will likely not differentiate your removals from typical baseless ones without some explanatory context.
Thanks, and I hope this helps clarify the larger picture surrounding my reversion. Skeletor3000 (talk) 07:04, 4 December 2019 (UTC)
- Excuse me for my response, I see that I might have sounded a little overzealous, especially as an IP. The reason for my reversion was that there can't be any conclusions made about the protests yet, as they are leaderless, are backed by an array of different groups with different aims (including a lot of foreign backing), and have achieved visibly very little, with exception to the PM resigning(the reasons for are dubious as well), other than destabilizing the country to a certain extent. In no way did I mean to say you have an agenda. In addition, I have never heard of Synaps nor of its reliability, so I decided to remove the content, which was placed rather haphazardly into the article by an IP, I think. That is the reason for my deletion. Once again, excuse me if I seemed a little overzealous. 98.221.136.220 (talk) 23:55, 4 December 2019 (UTC)
Discretionary sanctions and 1RR notification
[edit]This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have shown interest in the Troubles. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.
In addition the Easter Rising article is subject to a 1-revert-rule restriction, meaning no more than one revert in a 24 hour period. FDW777 (talk) 00:21, 19 December 2019 (UTC)
- Should we move the discussion to the talk page then? 98.221.136.220 (talk) 00:22, 19 December 2019 (UTC)
December 2019
[edit]Your recent editing history at Easter Rising shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
After warning and the 1revert-warning, you still reverted. The Banner talk 02:07, 19 December 2019 (UTC)

Arbitration enforcement notification

[edit]It appears that you have been canvassing—leaving messages on a biased choice of users' talk pages to notify them of an ongoing community decision, debate, or vote. While friendly notices are allowed, they should be limited and nonpartisan in distribution and should reflect a neutral point of view. Please do not post notices which are indiscriminately cross-posted, which espouse a certain point of view or side of a debate, or which are selectively sent only to those who are believed to hold the same opinion as you. Remember to respect Wikipedia's principle of consensus-building by allowing decisions to reflect the prevailing opinion among the community at large. Thank you. [edit]Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Patrick Deneen (author), without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. David Gerard (talk) 18:48, 13 January 2020 (UTC)

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Talk:World War I casualties. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. Please stop your disruptive behaviour. It appears you are purposefully harassing another editor. Wikipedia aims to provide a safe environment for its collaborators, and harassing other users, as you did on Talk:World War I casualties, potentially compromises that safe environment. If you continue behaving like this, you may be blocked from editing. The Banner talk 11:11, 23 January 2020 (UTC)

Your ANI Report
[edit]I have closed your report at WP:ANI. Please read my close carefully along with the comment I left underneath your report. I am giving you the benefit of the doubt, but only barely. If you lodge any further reports at ANI or AIV in the future where you falsely characterize another editor's good faith differences with you as vandalism, you are likely going to get blocked. You should regard this as a formal Warning. -Ad Orientem (talk) 01:47, 28 January 2020 (UTC)
Your draft article, Draft:Neutral powers during World War I
[edit]Hello, 98.221.136.220. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Neutral powers during World War I".
In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. If you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.
Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 03:33, 29 October 2020 (UTC)
