What's going on? I'm linking to things that are mentioned in the article, such as Protestant beliefs. The lede talks about how Paine sought to connect the cause of American independence with Protestant beliefs and the creation of a distinct American identity, so it would be reasonable to link to articles about what Protestant believe and the American culture that since developed.
