Wikipedia and copyright
[edit]Hello 81.213.215.83! Your additions to Sean M. Carroll have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 19:43, 19 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hello, Diannaa. The content you deleted was taken from Sean Carroll's website. Not MetaNexus. https://www.preposterousuniverse.com/naturalism2012/ Not saying it is not an infringement (or not saying vice versa either). Just informing you --81.213.215.83 (talk) 04:34, 20 June 2021 (UTC)
- There's many instances where text is copied to multiple locations online, which makes it impossible for me to determine exactly which one was copied.— Diannaa (talk) 12:10, 20 June 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Sakura emad. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Battle of the Indus have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse. Thanks. —— 🌸 Sakura emad 💖 (talk) 05:01, 13 August 2021 (UTC)
- Sakura emad, hello. Look, I was the one that introduced the note of Carl Sverdrup assessing the battle took place in Djerdin near Parwan. While I was reading the book, I discovered I made a mistake as Sverdrup assesses Djerdin is close to Ghazni, not Parwan (it is close to both of them but Sverdrup talks of Ghazni only). And it really is not clear if the battle Sverdrup talks about was indeed the battle Al-Athir and Nasawi mentioned. That is why I amended my own previous edits. --81.213.215.83 (talk) 05:40, 13 August 2021 (UTC)
- dear IP thank you for your contributions, you do nothing wrong by Writing an Article or improve articles Quality however, anything you add to the wikipedia it must support by Sources, Please take a look at here —— 🌸 Sakura emad 💖 (talk) 10:52, 13 August 2021 (UTC)
- You are missing the point, . I did not add something sourceless, rather, I deleted something I ADDED that was based on a misunderstanding of a source. The content I deleted was introduced by me, myself and I deleted it as I realised it was my misunderstanding --81.213.215.83 (talk) 02:41, 15 August 2021 (UTC)
- @81.213.215.83 sorry if i misunderstood at the time. —— 🌸 Sakura emad 💖 (talk) 02:45, 15 August 2021 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Oshwah. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions—specifically this edit to Battle of the Indus—because it did not appear constructive. - Hello, Oshwah. we have already settled that issue down. you are the 3rd person I am explaining this issue. Look: I was the one that introduced the note I have deleted - because I realised the note I introduced there was a confusion. It is explained in this thread/section to @Sakura emad: and here to @HistoryofIran:. Let me know if you have further comments, --81.213.215.83 (talk) 05:58, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
- Hi there! I sincerely apologize for the annoyance and for reverting your edit. I'm pretty damn sure that having to repeatedly explain this is getting on your nerves. Please feel free to restore the changes you made, and I hope you have a great weekend. If you need anything, please don't hesitate to message me on my user talk page. I'll be happy to help! :-) Best regards - ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 06:04, 21 August 2021 (UTC)

- IP < Reminder. —— 🌸 Sakura emad 💖 (talk) 06:54, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
- No problem, Oshwah. I was not annoyed but I grant my message might have sounded like that of an annoyed rude person. but that really was not my intention or situation. Thank you. Sakura emad, no problem. Sorry if I disturbed. --81.213.215.83 (talk) 19:42, 21 August 2021 (UTC)

- Diannaa, I do not recall if they are outright copyright but I will re-phrase them differently and add them into Wikipedia. Is that OK? --81.213.215.83 (talk) 20:44, 22 September 2021 (UTC)
- Everything you add to Wikipedia needs to be written in your own words please.— Diannaa (talk) 22:11, 22 September 2021 (UTC)

- Hello, I dream of horses. I am the one that improved that article. I do not know how that last edit happened (e.g. I do not recall how I typed his name Magmangburni) but there are some typo issues I made in my former edits. I am gonna edit them --81.213.215.83 (talk) 23:09, 9 October 2021 (UTC)
- Since you are editing under an IP address, it's possible that's it's dynamic enough that someone else made that edit. If I were you, I'd consider creating an account.
- Thank you for being willing to correct to correct it, though. I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 23:31, 9 October 2021 (UTC)
Jalal al-Din Mangburni issues
[edit]Hello, 81.213.215.83. I notice you made several efforts to have Jalal al-Din Mangburni increased from a C-Class rating, and you seemed confused when the requests were rejected. I have just gone through the article, and I have added specific issues to the box at the top of the page. If you are still willing to edit (I notice you haven't since 20 December 2021), may I suggest you focus your efforts on these issues? If you have any questions, please ask. Thank you.AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 21:26, 1 February 2022 (UTC)
