[edit]Hello, I'm NoobThreePointOh. I noticed that you recently removed content from Ya'akov Riftin without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. NoobThreePointOh (talk) 11:30, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
- Yeah, well done with this under-researched revert. Five seconds of checking would've told you what was going on, but you just had to be first on the button and score those internet points, didn't you? Golf clap. 81.187.192.168 (talk) 11:33, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
- I've never used AntiVandal before but it looks like a very fast recent changes patrolling and reversion tool. I use Twinkle and often times I find myself outpaced by editors using Huggle or AntiVandal. Definitely room for error if you go too fast with it I guess. I have informed NoobThreePointOh on their user talk page explaining that the template removal was appropriate. Regards, — AP 499D25 (talk) 11:48, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
- @81.187.192.168 Okay dude. I'm sorry. You didn't need to get this fired up. I was looking on AntiVandal and thought it was wrong to remove content like that. Got too hasty right there. NoobThreePointOh (talk) 11:49, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
- @AP 499D25 And yes, I agree. That was all my fault. NoobThreePointOh (talk) 11:49, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
Notice of noticeboard discussion
[edit]There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. The thread is User Jalen Folf deleted a page that is clean with resources. Thank you. Jalen Folf (talk) 21:53, 29 February 2024 (UTC)
- You are not at fault. I am merely linking you this discussion because I see you were also involved in the opposition of the user falsely reporting me here. Jalen Folf (talk) 21:54, 29 February 2024 (UTC)
- Yeah, WP:AGF notwithstanding, the article hijacking + the promotional tone + the removal of maintenance tags + the dramatic escalation + the shrill attempt to get you blocked at ANI would very much seem to prove my initial feeling that this editor has a conflict of interest or is being paid to add this single-store supermarket to en.wp. It’s a classic pattern. 81.187.192.168 (talk) 23:48, 29 February 2024 (UTC)

Re: Changes on Wikipedia page
[edit]Hi! Thank you for your message about my change on the "Carbondale, Illinois" wikipedia page. The information I added is what I found by coming to Carbondale myself and talking to several people from the place. Since this is knowledge I picked up myself, there is no citation, but this is also only an additional link in the "See also" section and doesn't affect the content of the article. This is a link to another Wikipedia page and not an external source so this is not to anyone's profits. Thank you! Hnmphuong (talk) 16:31, 6 April 2024 (UTC)
- @Hnmphuong: Wikipedia doesn't allow things you have observed for yourself to be added to articles – everything must be backed with a link to what other, reliable sources have said. Additionally, whilst it's fascinating that the name is common in that town, so are many other names; we don't want trivial things like that adding to our articles. Please don't add the link again. 81.187.192.168 (talk) 16:51, 6 April 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to Pepsi & Shirlie, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. thetechie@enwiki: ~/talk/ $ 15:56, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
- Right, now go back and look at my edit (and edit summary) and see how you have added unsourced trivia back into an article – both things not allowed here (it's a WP:BLP after all).
- Then come back here after you've reverted yourself and apologise. 81.187.192.168 (talk) 15:59, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
- @TheTechie: Fine, if you won't revert yourself, I have reverted you. DO NOT add unsourced trivia to biographies of living people. DO NOT misuse automated tools in future in this way – they will be removed. 81.187.192.168 (talk) 16:08, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
- Please remember I am not the one adding it, I am reinstating it. Please add a citation needed, as I describe below. And please WP:AGF. I am an experienced editor with >3000 edits and 4 years of experience, so please assume that I (mostly) know what I am doing. thetechie@enwiki: ~/talk/ $ 16:10, 13 May 2024 (UTC)

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Pepsi & Shirlie. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Please add a "citation needed" to unreferenced statements instead of section blanking. Further attempts at section blanking will be treated as vandalism. thetechie@enwiki: ~/talk/ $ 16:08, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
- That is not how Wikipedia works – and not how we do edits on biographies of living people. You say you're experienced, yet you have never read WP:BLP or WP:TRIVIA? Kindly do so. 81.187.192.168 (talk) 16:11, 13 May 2024 (UTC)

Then you need to concentrate more. And also to come back here and apologise to me. 81.187.192.168 (talk) 17:51, 14 June 2024 (UTC)
- @OnlyNano: I'm still waiting for your apology. You are responsible for your edits even when automated. Misuse of automated tools like Huggle, as you did with the above revert and warning, can lead to them being taken away. 81.187.192.168 (talk) 18:04, 14 June 2024 (UTC)
- I'm quite taken aback by your message, as it comes on in a very negative way.
- However, I will humor you with an appology, as I understand how things like this can feel. I have been accused of being a vandal due to a public IP issue, and that really made me get emotional. However, I would suggest in a general sense, that you come to discussions less angry, so we can figure things out in a constructive manner.
- I am very sorry that I placed an incorrect warning, and reverted your correct edit, that is a human error on my part. However, people make mistakes, and we are only human. We've settled the edit, and the page is back to normal. We have gotten to our common goal as Wikipedians. I suggest getting a refresher on WP:5P4, as no matter how disruptive people are to me as an editor (in forms of vandalism), I still provide constructive and kind messages.
- Again, I am sorry for the disruption I caused you.
- I have removed the warning above, as my mistaken warning was incorrect, but please feel free to add it back if you think that is important. Have a nice day :) OnlyNano 18:21, 14 June 2024 (UTC)
- A non-apology apology, which had to be dragged out of you, along with a condescending screed. If I ever see you misuse Huggle – or any automated tool – again in future I will have you up in front of AN/I to have said tool removed. You are responsible for your edits, automated or not, and should act like it in future. Capisce? 81.187.192.168 (talk) 18:35, 14 June 2024 (UTC)
Noting for the record two further false warnings made using automated tools after this user was asked to stop harassing me, plus a startlingly ill-advised and hurriedly withdrawn ANI thread. 81.187.192.168 (talk) 00:06, 15 June 2024 (UTC)

AIV Reports
[edit]Hi there,
I noticed you are making AIV reports for users that have not edited. AIV is not the place for that. For username violations, you can go to WP:UAA however they will only accept blocks if they made edits. Myrealnamm (💬pros · ✏️cons) 16:18, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
- It's slightly different in this case – they're all one user, the LTA 'Piermark'. Reports for LTAs like this go directly to AIV. 81.187.192.168 (talk) 16:19, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
A kitten for you!
[edit]For your anti-vandalism work! Any reason why you haven't made an account yet?
GoldRomean (talk) 16:28, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
- Did that once. You know who the only people we treat worse than IP editors are here? Brand new accounts. You set off far more edit filers and get far more accusations of bad faith when vandal fighting as a new account than you do even as an IP! Exercised my Right to Vanish and retreated back to IP editing. Much better! (Not perfect, see a lot of the stuff above, but better!) 81.187.192.168 (talk) 16:41, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
- Damn, that's unfortunate! I can see that being potentially a thing. I began my wiki editing career in early Oct 2022 with the creation of this account, but I started off by adding/correcting content to/in articles I were heavily interested in, and only got started in vandalism cleanup in about Jan 2023. Guess I'm lucky I didn't get false warnings and bad faith assumption reverts, if you look at my edit filter log I did trigger some filters like the 'unreferenced content addition' filter with some of my early edits.
- If you stick around and edit for a bit though, getting to autoconfirmed, and especially getting to extended-confirmed, your account becomes 'trusted' and it becomes no longer highly scrutinised by the edit filters, recent changes filters and anti-vandal network tools like Huggle. I've actually seen some sockpuppet accounts game their way to 100+ edits before and when they did, the amount of disruption and vandalism they were able to pull off was astonishing! — AP 499D25 (talk) 12:25, 2 July 2024 (UTC)
- I personally started CV shortly after being autoconfirmed. Then again, I did get a lot of warnings/accusations (although they were correct ones), but I'd imagine after that you really don't get as much scrutiny. You might also want to try posting a notice saying that your this IP, as many users know your helpful at this point. Me Da Wikipedian (talk) 14:05, 2 July 2024 (UTC)

This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users.
